My Dad was my first sensei in 1958. I was five. When I was 19 I moved to Tokyo and was a student of Okano sensei at his school, Seiki Juku. What I'm saying is, I've seen a lot of uchi mata guys in the past 65 plus years. Maruyama is absolutely on another level.
@@neildillon837 That's in line with what I've heard. That the difference between Okano and the average Olympic champion is bigger than the difference between an Olympic champion and the average black belt.
Sir, I whole-heartedly agree with you on Maruyama's Uchimata being out of this world (meaning outside Japan). Inside Japan, however, Maruyama's Uchimata is a common place. Still you can still go to the Kodokan, please check out its instructors Shimoyama Sensei and Nambo Sensei. They routinely do the no-step Uchimata to ippon much taller opponents. I have yet to wrap my head around the move, despite having watched them done it for 15 years, much less duplicate it.

Is Okano as good as they say he is, or is he even better? I've heard the latter is the common conclusion.
He's better. I watched him doing randori with national team members long after his retirement and not one ever got him.

Absurdly beautiful work of a life. This makes me rethink my judo career
So good. He makes it look easy and fluid, even though technique such as he is showing is so hard. Thanks for sharing.

Феномен! Был ещё Сейдзо Фудзи в 70- 80 годах.
0:08投げた後に自分も一緒に倒れ込まないのがすごいですね。
多くの選手は自分のカラダも倒れ込みますよね。
強い‼️
It's between him and Inoue. I can't choose
マジで教科書のような綺麗な内股だから子供とかに内股教えるときは丸山選手のを参考にさせると良い!
Interesting fact: only An Baul and Abe Hifumi did not fall from uchi mata Maruyama
An Baul has fallen for his Uchi Mata, 2018 Hohot Grand Prix if I'm not mistaken. Uchi Mata wazari and then Sode ippon.
abe got thrown by maruyama with an uchi mata before
Abe fallen by maruyama uchimata in Japan national championship
Dude got a lot of wazari
