    I'm glad I found this, thank you for making this video. I'm coming to utila soon to tackle d.m. and work my way up to msdt. It's been a while since I've been in the water, but I have roughly 300 dives under my belt. I definitely need to brush up on my skills, but my one worry is that my log book went M.I.A. I do have 90% of those dives on my computer still, but no log book. Is something like this going hinder me greatly?

    When you work as an AI like I've done at Aqua Pleinair and the only task you're ask to do is prepare rental kits, wash wet suits and sale masque and fins with no time in the water... That's not how you'll be able to keep your skills sharp.

    A useful video, thanks.
    I'm Advanced, Rescue, have completed my EFR and, have 100+ dives but is it a good idea to complete the Divemaster first and operate at that level for a while before embarking on the IDC, as I know they can be done together, i.e. one straight after the other. Thoughts?

      I did them back to back myself back in the day and it worked really well for me because these courses really build on one another. Feel free to send me your email address or WhatsApp and I'll send you information about our back-to-back package! 👊

    Step one since its padi. Get about 20 dives under your belt in near perfect conditions then enter dive master/ instructor course. Step 2 learn to pantomime really good underwater to look condescending to your students. step 3. Be 18 or younger with zero life experience and dubious leadership skills. step 4 find job at nearest MCDojo dive shop somewhere in asia and cater to exclusively tourists who know no better. Step 5 profit. Step 6 release poorly trained students into the world with horrible buoyancy and trim and let them become little clones of you so that the PADI Cycle can repeat.

      I think that's a little unfair to the well-trained, hard working instructors out there.

    Awesome content. I'm wanting to earn my way to IDC. I'm currently trying to figu4e a way to get prerequisite dives in with my demanding schedule. Is it OK to do multiple short dives 10-15 minutes just to ramp up the dive count? Or would this be frowned upon? Thanks in advance. I'm currently advanced open water certified and ive done elearning for rescue and several specialist

    • @DiveSAGA
      @DiveSAGA  2 роки тому

      It's a good question. Dives are defined as being at least 5m/15ft deep for at least 20 minutes!

      @@DiveSAGA will it hurt me to have a bunch of short dives to get my number up?

    • @davidshoyt1979

      not sure about PADI but for real divers that sort of behavior is frowned upon and makes you look like you actually dont care to develop any experience or skill. You just want the certification and title.

      I did a bunch of short dives to get my number up :) even did a short one minute SI if I did a longer dive to make sure I could log two dives

    Hi have a question... I'm a PADI Diver Master.. I work in a dive center... something that I see theirs a PADI instructor he was doing an( open water course) .. is it normal or good to put a student direct on a dive in a group of certified diver..and the student didn't do the confined water 1st. ????

    • @DiveSAGA
      @DiveSAGA  Рік тому

      No. Open water course students MUST complete confined water dive one before engaging in open water dives one.

    The PADI crew pack and course fees are absolutely ridiculous.

      @DiveSAGA  13 днів тому

      I agree that they have become very high. That's why I always advise people if you want to go that route, try to have a bit of a business plan so you know you can earn the investment back.
