Your mom has a nice calming spirit. I could listen to her for hours. Also kudos to her for accepting what God gave you and being an advocate for natural hair.

your mom is so right about that scalp. the very reason i went back to being natural is because my scalp was so sensitive... my scalp burned easily no matter how I'd baste it.
Idk why but it made me cry when your mom was talking about how she Loved you as soon as she laid eyes on you.. your mom has all the major keys 🔑.. it's like mentally she was ahead of her time when it came to her thoughts on relaxers.. I wish most moms thought like that back in them times..
Best video ever. My oldest daughter recently transitioned back to natural hair. She watches you and several other naturals on UA-cam and it gives her the encouragement she needs to continue to love the beautiful hair God has given her. You and your Mom are such an inspiration.

Ur mom is so right, health comes first. Parents need to think twice on the chemicals they put on their kids hair. It doesn't only affect their hair but also their heads. Ur mom is so gorgeous and u too.

Your mother was smart not to ruin your hair early. I can relate. My mom refused to relaxed my hair when I asked at 15 and when I had it done on my own years later I regreted it. All this to fit it to what society think our hair should look like. I am glad you went back to natural. There nothing more beautiful!! Great vid

I really enjoyed listening to your story. I don't really have any story of my hair when I was young. My mom got my hair relaxed at 7 because my mom started working nights and didn't have time to do my hair. But i didn't get them all the time. My mom did my hair in the same little braids and pony tails and twisties. I never complained lol. But I did not like going to the hair dresser because I hate staying under the dryer and i still do lol! Anyway I happy to be natural! 2 years and counting! Yay!

What a nice chapter out of your life that you shared. My mom really took care of my hair as well I had a similar story how had a lot of hair when I was born and my mom kept my hair natural my whole life. My mom got her hair pressed at 12 through her entire life until currently which she's in her late sixties and natural and loving. but she loved my hair and really cherished it. I had really long hair. In my experience it was actually a few girls with natural hair that I grew up around but the majority was as perm pressed hair. The older I got I seemed to be one of the only ones and I stood out a lot with natural hair especially long hair..

I did something similar when I used the old school hot curlers that you heat on the stove. I was holding up my bangs and when I put the curlers on them I heard sizzling, saw smoke, and the hair I was holding came right off in my hands. 😂😂😂

Hi-5 mom for never putting a relaxer in her hair, I would advise moms to not put a relaxer in their kids hair and just put the time into doing your kids hair, even put it in protective styles like braids if you don’t like coming it but don’t relax it now obviously once they get old enough their gonna do what they want with their hair for the most part so while their young and your still in charge of it no relaxers and thank you for it in the end
