I spent a year in Balikpapan in East Kalimantan (Borneo) working at an oil refinery in the 80's. I visited Jakarta, Jogjakarta, and Bali, which were all memorable. I think Sulawesi and Sumatra might also have interesting places to visit.
Warm regards, Miss Alina, welcome to the number 1 most beautiful country in the world this is what Europeans say, even though this country has long been the most beautiful land. You will not be bored at all exploring this homeland, called the homeland of the archipelago as far as 5000km from the city of Zero Sabang to the city of Merauke in Papua! wow...it's really beautiful and beautiful exploring land, mountains, wild forests, lakes, crossing the ocean and along the prettiest white beaches, corals and unique fish on the seabed all there is nothing like. plus the welcome of the residents and local people are very friendly, polite, ready to help whatever you want! Many unique islands with different cultures from each region. As you know, Indonesia is the most unique country in the world, it has 17 thousand islands, thousands of islands are deserted and do not have a name, 700 different tribes and languages, 280 million inhabitants, no. 15 worlds of military power, there are eternal snow glaciers in Papua, Komodo Island etc. My advice is to visit the most unique places: Lake Toba in Sumatra, jogya borobudur temple, prambanan temple, Mount Bromo, the southern coast of Java, Surf Beach in Banyuwangi, the cold city of Batu Malang, Bali Island, Lombok Island, Komodo Island, Raja Ampat Beach on Papua Island, Kalimantan, Sulawesi. Enjoy the unique fruits of durian, coconut, salak, kedondong, mangosteen, cantaloupe, etc. Have a nice trip. regards.👍
Worked there for about 2 years. Jakarta is a hot place & will really test your patience because of the crazy traffic. Always have an umbrella ready, because sometimes the rain drops unexpectedly & also it might shades you from the blazing sunlight. Don't forget to bring a mosquito repellent or you can easily buy one at a shop there. Some places are damp & have may plants, it's usually mosquitoes' favourite hang out environment. Generally, the people on the street & at the shops aren't that good in speaking English, but they'll try to understand you as best as they can because they're generally very polite to foreigners. Bali is fun, but be careful with your phone on the street. You'll meet many Australians there & Balinese people understand English better than anywhere else in Indonesia. So speaking English isn't a problem in Bali. If you wanna visit mountains, go very early in the morning so you can watch a beautiful sunrise. At the beaches, you can watch a beautiful sunset. The orange-violet sky + the beach panorama looks beautiful. Visit Bromo mountain if you can. You can ride horses there. It's fun! Anyway, have a safe trip!
@@AlinaMcleod Almost forgot. The food is very rich of flavours there. I love pecel & gado-gado! Those are Indonesian salads. You should try them. You don't have to worry about vegetables because Indonesian LOVE veggies & rice. They put vegetables in almost every dish & rice is their main meal. A friend of mine told me that Indonesian usually say that you haven't had a meal if you haven't eaten rice.
Six months! Too long! Indonesia is really far from Canada. Take care of yoursef and enjoy your stay in Indonesia. Your videos are fantastic. Thank you for sharing.
The best volcano to see in Indonesia is Bromo...it's easy to reach the crater, any tourist can do it. Other options are Ijen and Tangkuban Perahu. Of course, can't miss Yogyakarta to see the majestic ancient temples. But be sure to visit early in the morning or arrive at 3PM at any of the temple...if not, it will be miserably hot and humid. Along with Bromo, the nearby Tumpak Sewu waterfall is a must visit.
I never get tired of packing videos. And the fashion show was super fun! I just packed for a trip coming up to Spain and I couldn't believe how much extra space I had without needing cold weather clothes!
I bet you're excited about your trip! Impressed by your camera equipment. I use an OSMO Pocket at work sometimes to get b-roll. Great little camera! Where'd you get your drone from? Safe travels!
My dermatologist recommended I take Polypodium Leucotomos or fern leaf 🍃 extract as it amplifies sunscreen 🧴 protection. Have had a few Mohs procedures for basal cell so it‘s worth it to have peace of mind while out in strong sunlight. I carry around Native sunscreen which you recommended. Have a substitute teacher friend who just returned from Bali and he spent lots of time diving for Indonesian lobster 🦞. My host family in Uzice Serbia 🇷🇸 had family living in Bali. They had been there and reminded me that Indonesia 🇮🇩 was a non aligned country like Yugoslavia.

Like the way you organize your electronics. Shoes are my biggest problem to pack. I always take hiking boots and mostly wear them on the plane then take them off. This is problematic though going through the security. These, sandals/thongs and a pair of relaxing shoes, for going out at night. One pair of running shoes would certainly not work for me. Too many blisters on the feet from all the cobblestones for one thing. Probably not too bad in Indonesia though. Enjoy your Indonesia experience. Will be interested in what you come across. Hot, humid and tropical. Nice and laid back in Bali.

Hello Alina awesome you are travelling to Jakarta and Bali been so many times. You will have to do the Mt Batur sunrise Hiking, visit the Git Git Falls Aling Aling falls absolutely stunning Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida. Are there any other places you plan to visit in SE Asia outside of Indonesia like Singapore, Phillippines or Malaysia? maybe Australia and New Zealand. If you are adventurous, I hear Fiji is interesting.
Never made it Indonesia, the closest I've gotten is Singapore for a few days. Interesting the amount of stuff you carry. I don't have the ability to look cute or sexy, so everything I wear is the same as in rural Alberta, and I just make it work every where in world. So sometime I'm that one of these doesn't look like the others travelers. I'm impressed that you can effectively pack all those items and not be over weight.
Welcome to the pacific ring of fire, hope you get to love volcanoes as much as I did, read up on the 1883 eruption of Krakatoa and don't get too close to Mount Merapi if it tremors. Mt Bormo is stunning. I travelled across Java island to Bali, its an epic journey, but there are over 17000 islands. I would have loved to go Sumartra, Papua and dive Raja Ampat. Plenty of hot springs to relax in after long hikes and think you will like nasi goreng. Have you tried gortex cross trainers(soloman/terrex etc) , I have a tilley hat, they are actually made in toronto, canada great sun and rain protection, dont forget your blue marmot jacket, love your lululemon gear if I am right
Hi Alina, if you're about to visit Java island, I would recommend to visit Mount Bromo, Ijen Crater, and Yogyakarta (capital of Javanese culture like kyoto for Japan). If you need a local guide, about the travel destination feel free to reach out to me, since I like to promote my country 🇮🇩

Are there any other places you plan to visit in SE Asia outside of Indonesia like Singapore, Phillippines or Malaysia? maybe Australia and New Zealand. If you are adventurous, I hear Fiji is interesting.
Yes a few of those are already on the list 🙂
Never made it Indonesia, the closest I've gotten is Singapore for a few days. Interesting the amount of stuff you carry. I don't have the ability to look cute or sexy, so everything I wear is the same as in rural Alberta, and I just make it work every where in world. So sometime I'm that one of these doesn't look like the others travelers. I'm impressed that you can effectively pack all those items and not be over weight.
Welcome to Indo
nesia! Be ware & be Safee.
Whoa Indonesia is where I live now :D
Don't forget to visit Bromo Tengger in east Java
Have a good day, Alina!
You too!
@@AlinaMcleod thanks a lot😊
This will be great❤
Hello alina, have a wonderful trip to Indonesia.
Stay safe & healthy....
8.23 awesome...
Very cool video 👌
Welcome to the pacific ring of fire, hope you get to love volcanoes as much as I did, read up on the 1883 eruption of Krakatoa and don't get too close to Mount Merapi if it tremors. Mt Bormo is stunning. I travelled across Java island to Bali, its an epic journey, but there are over 17000 islands. I would have loved to go Sumartra, Papua and dive Raja Ampat. Plenty of hot springs to relax in after long hikes and think you will like nasi goreng. Have you tried gortex cross trainers(soloman/terrex etc) , I have a tilley hat, they are actually made in toronto, canada great sun and rain protection, dont forget your blue marmot jacket, love your lululemon gear if I am right
Yup it is Lululemon!
memiliki perjalanan yang menyenangkan
Oh my God ! Six months ! I can join with you only for ten days only. I have home sick. Thank you and Bye !
Welcome to my home country, Alina.
Thank you!
Never spend to much time at home, already bound for another journey
Cause it’s my job
Please do a makeup video it would help me to show how to do it. Your video was very interesting Alina we love you
Aw thank you! Yes I absolutely will :)
Thanks Alina 😚😇
