    I use the large pre-made pie crusts or sometimes do homemade, put slices of onions and some extra feta in the center. It is SO delicious with the fresh homegrown tomatoes!

      Ummm, never thought to use feta with tomatoes that way...I'd only just reserved feta for Greek salad 🥗 😋...I like your idea, abd and will try it♡

    Wow!! Thank you for this recipe and video! I've tried other recipes for tomato pie (including one from a Lady in Savanah) and never really took a shining to any of them. I did like the one I had at a B & B in St. Augustine, Florida. I will have to give your recipe a try based on everyone positive reaction to it. I like the idea of the biscuit pie crust - that's a brilliant idea! Thank you again. I enjoying watching your videos each day that I get a chance to do so.     Well I’m amazed I grew up in Prescott Arkansas we had gardens of different vegetables 🍅🌽🌶 and greens 🥬 but I never heard of a tomato 🍅 🥧 yours look so good 😊 I think 🤔 I’m going to try it 😌

    I put a layer of sliced mozzarella or provolone on crust before adding tomatoes. The crust is crisper that way.

      Believe it or not I had this in Italy and they topped it with grated Parmesan. The tomatoes were exploding with flavor and they were all baked in a wood-burning oven.

      I place the salted tomatoes in a strainer with salt for a few minutes to do juice them. No soggy bottom that way. I only make if I have time for real pie crust. I also use Basil, mayo and cheddar a generous chop of chive or green onion on top

    I would be pleased to be the first to comment on this recipe, as I've been making it ever since I first saw it on your website. It is a family favourite, and guests rave about it. You might want to make two of these if you're having more than five to the table, because everyone wants two pieces. I've made it twice in the past two weeks. Thank you for this!

    Craving fresh tomatoes. I've eaten this all my life (Southerner). We use pimento (vs cheddar) cheese and add bacon bits and mandolin sliced potatoes. Never any leftovers!

    This method solves a problem: I've used pie crusts which become soggy. The bisquit crust will be sturdier and I can't wait to try this because I love love love tomato pie!!!

      I may try this recipe?? But I would put slices of thinly of spanish onion too I would of put tomatoes on paper towel to obserb some of the juices out

    This pie looks delicious! Such a quick easy recipe! I live in the south, (near Nashville Tennessee) but I have never had tomato pie! I love tomatoes, so I may try this recipe. I don't have mayonnaise but I have yogurt, sour cream, and salad dressing. Can I substitute any of those? I'm so jealous of those who have access to fresh tomatoes! I live in an apartment so a garden is not feasible for me😞. I hate store-bought tomatoes, but I don't have access to fresh tomatoes! At least I can buy fresh basil in my local supermarket. Does anyone know where I can get fresh tomatoes in my area? I will probably just use grape or cherry tomatoes as they have more flavor than those hard,mealy, tasteless store-bought tomatoes.

      Lynn Wilhoite -Most grocery stores sell “tomatoes on the vine” where the other tomatoes are sold. I know Walmart does so you’ll have to look in the produce section. They cost a little more but they taste so much better that the regular tomatoes.

    I didn't get to see much of the final product 🙁 Up close view would have shown what it looked like after cooking.

    Must one use American Mayo? It's easier for me to find French style mayo, but not American style. Do you think it would still work?

    Don't mean any disrespect ..but this is the worse tasting tomato pie I've ever tasted..It has way to much crust...Sorry but I don't like it...
