You only need about $685,000…you’re on your way. Dream big…just never change who you are when you get rich! We all love you because you’re relatable and down to earth.
beth you're amazing, i'm saving that $15 towards the house!xd. thank you honestly!
@@L3WGReacts Yo, mate. You could get a decent home for less. A lot more acreage, not so close neighbors.. might need an interior update, better appliances but nothing drastic. Even if you wanted to live in one of the bigger city, say like Houston, in the inner loop, you could get it for half that... or something far better than for that price. The same kind of logic applies to most states.
Personally, I'd be apt to say unless you're working/attending uni in the city (or really, even if you are).. you're better off moving to one of the burbs outside of it. You get more bang for you buck and as you're keen on driving, it's no big loss.
Most expats do better in the places between the metro cities and rural wasteland, so they're neither overwhelmed nor too isolated, so looking at smaller towns not too far from the city gives you rounded experience that you can get to everything you might want in the city and you're not too far from the rural escape. So, you've got a little bit of everything within adequate driving distance.
Or you might just prefer looking at some of the more vacation towns.. like living on the Texas coast, if you're interested in that. The potential for a great view and most of the chaos limited to those going on holiday, namely spring break.
Shower with your partner. It will jazz up your love life.
That room is like an extra living room, game room, or whatever you want to make it. Sometimes, they call them multi-purpose rooms.
The finishes and features are upgraded. They impact the cost of the home.
I have never laughed so hard at 8ne of his videos!!! When that guy started preaching, Lewis got confused and I lost it!! 😂😂😂😂
😂 it sounded beautiful just had no clue what he was saying
I'm dying...😆😆😆😆😆😆
I was laughing so hard I had tears running down my face… 2 of my daughters came out of their rooms & thought I lost my mind or something… the facial expressions & confusion on his face 😂🤣😭
😂😂 “he said the house was free?? & he said he’s a sinner!?” Lewis always makes me laugh but not like this usually lmaooo 🤣🤣
Plus this guy went from quiet, givin out a little too much info on his personal life to acting like he was 16 at a party to a priest all in one video…
😂😂😂 you just can’t make this stuff up lmao & I love how Lewis just went along with it after all the confusion acting like he was in church lol
I was dying laughing when Lewis said, " he was watching a house tour, and he got teleported to church." 😅😅🤣🤣💖
What do you expect? This is the Bible Belt state. That name is not called in Texas for vain.
Open daily bc it’s a model home meaning that it’s just a show home they show to people when they want to buy homes in the neighborhood. No one actually lives there, it’s staged for guests
Also furnished to show off what it would look like if people actually lived there...
@@crlewis6360 I probably should have said furnished instead of staged bc I don’t think Lewis would know what I mean 😭
Yes, once all the homes in the development are sold, they'll put the model home for sale. Sometimes completely furnished/staged
Lewis needs to start using his brain lol
@@OneLuckyLady13 but with a hefty price tag.
Lewis, not to sound silly but from an almost 60 year old woman who grew up very very poor. It's not the size of the house but how much love that's inside 🥰 bigger is not always better!!
Well said, Susan. I was lucky enough to have the big, suburban house once. It's only a house without love. I'm an older lady, too. I'm remarried and living a simple, humble and charmed life with the right partner. Best to you! 😊
In my mid forties now, and around the time I hit 40 I started to value possessions less and less and value love more and more.
Amen !! 👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻
I love to see these fantastic homes, but I have my little home in the country and a happy family where all of our adult kids still come to get together. I wouldn't trade that for a fancy house or for anything.
Bigger is always better, that is why it's always more expensive!
Those aren’t mountains, they’re other houses. This is a development. They are in the process of building an entire neighborhood. You get to choose from three or four different house models and they will build it for you, to your specifications. This is in Katy Texas (a suburb of Houston). It is very flat in that part of Texas.
😂 when selling homes becomes church service. Your reaction made me laugh, thank you!! 😂
Lewis, this is a model home for this particular development. It is open to the public for tours during certain hours of the day for you to look at it. They usually have an office somewhere where you can look at the different floor plans, pick out colors, flooring, cabinets, etc. and also pick out what lot you want to buy. It's a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon, driving around and looking at all the different model homes.
Edit: Those are not mountains in the background, those are the tops of other homes, lol. He's talking about the upgrades that you can add to the home when you are buying it, that most model homes will feature: upgraded appliances, flooring, etc. Usually you have to wait for the home to be built, unless they have one available that is already built that you like the way it is. We had to wait about 10 months for our house to be built from the time we picked out the lot and floorplan, etc. to when we actually closed on the house. But it was great because we didn't have to change anything when we moved in.
Sometimes waiting has its advantages...when I purchased my first home, they had just put in the sidewalks and started site prep to begin laying the foundation. I was able to drive up (about an hour from where I was living) 2-3 times per week and I took DETAILED pictures of every step. I had pics of the trenching before they laid the foundation, after they laid the foundation, framing, electrical, plumbing and drywall. I was able to catch some mistakes early on before they became an issue and inconvenience later (they placed some can lights in the wrong places where it would have looked really weird). In the end, I had a collection of pictures so I would know EXACTLY where all electrical and plumbing was behind EVERY wall where under the ground the electrical ran from the house to the detached garage, where the gas lines were. When I sold the house later, the new owner was grateful for those pictures.
@strix.1 I used to stop by my house 2 or 3 times a week to check on the progress and make sure everything was being done properly. We had no issues with the house once we moved in compared to some of my neighbors, and this was a reputable builder. Our development made it through hurricanes Andrew better than the more expensive developments in our area. Namely, our homes were built 10 feet above the flood line, and our roofs didn't blow off.
That didn't look like mountains to me, just other roof tops. He didn't say that house is free, he's talking about our eternal home in heaven. 😊
Thanks for the awesome video. You would be surprised how many youtubers actually afford homes like this or better. Stay focused, speak it into existence and you will achieve your goals ✨️ 💯 🙏. I can't wait for your "Brit tours America" series ❤️ I will love to see you in our homeland and become a homeowner. Keep up the good work, the laughs, smiles and positive attitude.
oh wow, thank you so much for the big $50!!! I'll have to keep manifesting it into existanse! Yeah i can not wait to get over to america!!!
$650k is generally the starting price for a "base model." This house, as shown with all of the upgrades, is probably closer to $750-800k. Many model homes show every upgrade possible to encourage people to make their home as nice as the model they fell in love with.
He walked out of that house and all of a sudden, he was SAVED 🤣😂. He felt the gospel inside him so much, he couldn't even leave the patio. 😆
May the power of Christ compel thee.... Amen Brother..😄
I don't think Jesus would live in that house.
So, this house is in Katy, Tx and I can tell you that your homeowners insurance will be astronomical and you will want to buy flood insurance. That area is prone to flooding and usually sits right in the path of hurricanes.
Ive lived in houston all my life and moved to Katy 12 years ago. NEVER had flooding, our community has so many water reserves area in every neigborhood. Katy is the most hurricane flooding safe place in houston for sure.
Flooding won’t be the issue. Hurricanes also are more of an inconvenience this far from the coast. Homeowners Insurance is insanely high and rising in Houston area.
These types of homes for those prices are unique to Texas lol. No where on the east to you get homes like that for those prices lol
And tweakers😂
@@LivelyBriLivelyMe not true. You can find homes this size and cheaper in Georgia and northern Florida.
This is a brand new neighborhood, brand new homes. If you look at used homes, you can get something much cheaper. Also, this is over 3000 square feet. You could probably get a 2500 sq ft home for between 300 and 400K that are still beautiful.
Omgosh 😂😂😂. He did go from realtor to preacher. 🤣🤣😂😂
Yeah! what a nut!
This guy does it in all of his house tour videos.
@@lneal1670it’s so annoying to have people preach at you and it happens a lot especially if you live in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
@@t.prophoto It is completely out of place from the original video, however, what part of it is annoying if he does it at the very end. All you have to do is click the X or go to another video. He isn't forcing you to listen to him.
This house plan starts at $650K. This model home being shown has easily $150-200K in upgrades
Lewis, This is Texas and the Bible Belt is named for a reason. I'm a Realtor & I would never bring religion into my business but its common there. He sounds like a young man who is passionate about his faith, while I have a strong faith, I keep it out of my business. Anyway, its an awesome home, prices are much lower in the Houston area, so this home would be in the 2mil range in California.
The belief that it's appropriate to be preaching at any time at any place in any irrelevant context is a bit odd and possibly narcissistic.
same here in Miami....I could see this selling for at least $2 million in the Pinecrest or East Kendall area, $3 million in Coral Gables
yup, at least. The median home price here in Silicon Valley is 1.7 million. (of course, the median household income is 125k, that's what Google pays you if you just graduated from SJSU...people with more experience etc will make well north of 200k. In other words, the price is 3x but so is your income, so you can afford. Supply and demand. 🙂 )
@@controlZchannel I don't know this young man who made the original video of the tour of the home. I would say that he is new to his faith or had a re-birth with his faith, so he is zealous in sharing his faith. Depending on his real estate firm, I imagine that most Brokers wouldn't want him mixing his personal religious opinions in with his business.
With that said, when I'm referring clients to Texas or Georgia, I find it interesting how many Realtors on their profile mention what church they attend, so its part of the culture. Typically when I list my activities, I mention my community outreach, I don't list the church I attend since I consider that private and personal.
In general by oversharing one doesn't actually encourage others it often times does the reverse.
no even in California this home is in teh $600K -$800k range, dont mix la and SF home price with teh rest of the state
Yes Im Very Blessed him talking about the Bible !!
He's Blessed ! And He wants to share His Blessing he has in His Life !

'Chef's Kitchen' is a kitchen that has high end appliances that a Chef might like in their own kitchen.
'mud room' is a room near an entrance (usually the back or side door coming from the back yard) that people stop in when they come inside to remove their muddy shoes or boots so they don't track them into the rest of the house.
since it's a model home, the 3 car garage is being used as an office for the building company instead.
I see others have explained what a model home is and that Texas is in the Bible Belt (meaning a lot of Baptists and other Christians that are always bringing up the Bible). A mud room is supposed to be an alternate entrance, like the garage, where you can take off your muddy boots etc. it’s normally found near the laundry room.
He DEFINITELY needed to get his ass outside before he went into full out preacher mode. Boy did he switch gears.
That is what his channel is about.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It was the look on his face that cracked me up...😆😆😆
If you're a realtor in Texas and you don't put on a Christian facade at least, you're not going to sell too many houses.
This is a model home which means this house costs a lot more than listed price. That price is for the basic floor plan, but the floor plan shown is full of upgrades, probably flooring, fixtures, counters, even some of the bathroom features and possibly part of the floor plan. When he talked about it being a pretty penny he’s saying that the model he’s showing actually costs a lot more than the base cost.
Those aren't mountains , but houses in the background. And it's a builder model home (show home) to sell similar homes in the development. They always have all the upgrades offered by the builder/developer.
My daughter just bought a new house in Arizona, and the models had a FEW of the upgrades, but not all of them.
I just bought a home outside of Houston in a country town of Magnolia. I am having the home built for little over $330,000 for 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, 3 car garage.

the fixed shower heads are standard for construction. actual homeowners change it as soon as they move in. most people have the handle shower head that can be lifted off and moved around. the same with the double handle faucets. you can get an 'all-in-one' faucets from the store and replace them easily
“What is the good news?” Omg 😂😂😂 laughing so hard! That ending was so funny 🤣
He was so confused😂
"That view!" - You'll see the tornado very well with all that glass!
😂
Lol
😅🤣🙂
Tornados don't frequent Katy, Texas... 🤦🏾♀️
Katy is far enough inland not to be harmed by hurricanes. Tornadoes are rare in the Houston area.
I laughed so hard when you showed the street view of the $700K UK home. I thought you were exaggerating but you weren’t 😂🤣
I live in Massachusetts. This house would be about 3 million in my area.
A home like this would be close to 2 million in San Diego on a very small lot that you literally can almost touch you neighbor's house from your kitchen window. Moved here to San Antonio Texas from San Diego and prices here are about 1/4 to 1/3 the price of San Diego. I live in a new 1800 sqft ranch style home on a 1/2 acre that cost about 300k.
A mudroom is a room you go into to take of your shoes and coats before u enter the main part of the house so you Don’t get it dirty
I have been to your country, AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL. I get you are comparing a new build in a US suburb, but the home you are comparing it to is great. It is just older. Most of us in older US cities actually live in homes that you have shown. The USA is great. I am American. But your country is great also. I went to the UK during my honeymoon in 1990. had my first veggie burger in the original Hard Rock Cafe, before we had any here in the US. We come from different countries, but each is great in its own ways. I would love to hear more about your country and all the history you walk by each day.
We have always changed the fixed shower head and added an hand held sprayer.
I’m surprised on a model home all the bathrooms doesn’t have one.
Chefs kitchen = top notch appliances and a lot of extra to accommodate even a chef.
Mud room= usually it’s just like a cloakroom and or a small bench for backpacks shoes stuff like that. sometimes there’s a laundry room/mudroom situation
Yeah, can get a really nice one from Costco that replaces the built in. 👍
I never liked where a "mud room" is basically just a closet. What if I'm literally covered in mud?
When I was a kid my dad would take me hunting near the house where he grew up. Afterward we were caked in mud and we went into his mom's cellar. There was a shower right in the middle of the room. I've never seen anything like it before or since. You would walk, fully clothed, straight to the shower and hose off. You'd have to hang your clothes but that's part of the point of a mud room. In an expensive house, I'd expect a full shower and a washer/dryer nearby, and of course a utility sink. Clean those muddy clothes.
@@protorhinocerator142 typically there is at least a utility sink if there’s a laundry included in a mudroom I think some of these real estate people take advantage of the terminology because that’s exactlywhat a mud room is for. I don’t know about the whole shower thing. That sounds nice!
@@MjDeen217 Any shower would be good, but that shower in my grandma's basement was memorable. It wasn't a fancy house. Pretty plain jane really but so cool to not need shower curtains at all.
The shower comment took me out 😂. Yes showering with partners is very commonplace
True, but I suspect the host of the video was referring to not having to fight with the wifey about showerhead adjustments. 😉😉
Houston doesn" t have mountain ,that is other houses in the background that is behind that houses.

He's bringing us to church as well too brother! Hugs! ❤
My husband paints new homes for different builders here in Texas. Funny thing is, before in influx of people from out of state, these size houses used to go for any where from 400,000-500,000, depending on any upgrades.
These are model homes and they are usually the first homes built in the subdivision, because they are the house options that the builder will have for this subdivision and will be shown to any potential homebuyers. They will be fully furnished and will sometimes be used by the builders as offices (not every model home, but one of them in particular). If you are buying a home that is already built, you can always pay more to upgrade anything (ie.. the fixtures, paint color, tile, carpet, etc…). If you are having them build your home, you would go to the builders show room store where you can pick out everything before it’s built (ie…everything from above plus style of fire place, style of cabinets, stairs, banister, brick color, stain or paint color for cabinets, exterior paint color, etc…). They usually have interior designers to help you along with everything.
When the all the lots in the subdivisions have been sold and houses built, these model homes are usually the last to be sold, sometimes at a discount.
You don't want a house like that when you see the property tax bill.
I mean, compared to the UK it still won't amount to much
1% property tax is pretty low. If you're buying a house like this you can afford $7000. I don't know about Katy, but most places don't make you pay it all at once. New Jersey and the surrounding areas are paying much more and paying more for the property. NJ has like a 2.25% property tax.
Where I live it's about 1% as well, with an effective rate at 0.73% but the property costs more to begin with. However, it can never go up more than 2% per year.
But there's a lot of places that have low property taxes AND much lower property prices.
It's too much upkeep. Imagine down the road when it needs a roof.
I like a ranch house style the best. No stairs!
Property tax wouldn't be that bad on that.
A model home is like an example. They will have multiple floor plans and you can change anything you. For a cost of course. And this is not a base house. Where I live in the Midwest for 700k you get a super nice custom house and acres of land to go with it. And you can grown anything your heart desires. Also you can also buy the model as is and get a better price.
Actually, the exchange rate is crazy. $650,000 US is only £510,000 in GB
That's what I was thinking!! Exchange rate L3WG!! This house would be 2X times the price in Californication!!😁😁😁
Dude is preaching. That happens here. There’s a lot of Christians here. Preaching at the end of the video you got a captive audience.😂
I absolutely love watching your reactions to our houses or grocery stores! 👍😁
It’s a model home that they show for people to decide if they want to buy a house that’s already built in that community. That’s actually a really decent price for Texas. In other cities that may get you an older house with less space. Location is what makes the difference.
Just for some kind of perspective I live in a modest 3 br house in northern New Jersey and my house I about about 100,000 more expensive it really depends where you live in the US
I LOVE THE UK HOUSE YOU SHOWED!! That green kitchen!! ❤
You can literally buy a handheld, removable shower head starting at about $15 and replace it yourself in less than ten minutes. 😀
Not in my house. I can’t get the damn things off. lol, too much lime from hard water.
@@jessicabreitbarth2925soak in CLR and use a pipe wrench.
Model homes are built to help sell the homes in the development. The home prices are a "base price" and you can add upgrades like more expensive/custom floors, cabinets, appliances and finishes. The models are usually completely upgraded and will cost tens of thousands of dollars more than the base price. P.S., the shower heads swivel so you can direct the spray. You should check out homes in Lake Tahoe, California and Colorado/Wyoming/Montana for gorgeous mountain homes.
If you believe it, you will achieve it! You’re sooo funny and always keep me laughing! 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Right? I laugh through all his videos....😆😆😆😆
Home builders will build a model home for you to look through and hopefully order one for yourself. You can negotiate revisions with the builder. These are called “model homes” and usually the builder will build a model for every different floor plan they offer. You can spend as much time as you like going through different builder’s models to find what you like. This is not an office space, although the builder might use one room as an office to show you their other floor plans or locations to build. It is a fun way to spend an afternoon looking at model homes and dreaming.
When I moved to Houston in the 80s all the builders had at least 2 to 5 models. It became a hobby to go look at model homes, so much fun. The room at the top of the stairs is called a game room or the kid's hang out. Also, there are no mountains in Houston, it's flat as a pancake. Those are rooftops of the houses on the next street. Enjoy your videos. Had to leave when the preaching started. Welcome to Texas 🙄
Can I get an Amen?! Hahaha…can’t stand Bible thumpers…quit trying to sell me on your religion!
@robynspelts5688 Yep, he would have lost a sale with all that 🤪
I remember, realtors got tired of that hobby shopping.
Wet bar has sink with running water. Mud room is where ppl come in and drop their stuff off and not track dirt in house
You can tell Lewis doesn't have much experience with the evangelical types, because I could spot like 10 seconds into the video where this was going to go. When someone you don't know wants to share some good news with you, you're about to get preached at.
Yeah the realtor was doing good up until the end, he should have ended the video right after showing the back yard instead of yapping nonsense

•To me having a fire place as decor is like having a stove as decor. Fire places and stoves are both used for staying warm and for cooking. Both cannot heat up big houses with open concept rooms.
As a model home, it is open daily to walk around and view. There are models in new neighborhoods where houses are being built so that the buyer can choose the model they want. There are usually several models to view.
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO The house that they were shown is called a model home. It is to give perspective clients what they can have also. So basically the house is just a showpiece.
Hey, from Houston - my home town! This is a model home. But Lewis, those are not mountains back there! Houston doesn't have mountains!

This is a Model home. The builder will build it to show the buyers what their home will look like when it is finished. This home is NOT for sale, it is only a model.

God Bless L3WG. Welcome to America 🇺🇸. John 3:16
I 1st toured Europe in 1971. I fell in love with electric kettles (I've had one for around 15 years now. LOVE IT) & shower heads on hoses! It was about 6 - 8 years after that trip that they became available in the States. They won't usually come with a new house but you can always buy one & easily install it yourself. That's what I've always done. I don't know how anyone lives without one.
Black, white, and gray doesn't make for an inviting ambience
I agree. I kept looking at everything black and I wanted to paint it white. And no gray carpet.
This house would be over a million in California. It's fun to go on model home tours in person.
I love looking at model homes. Even if I'm not looking to buy. They have fantastic decorating ideas.
I was going to say where I live it'd be about 1.2 million minimum
In the Bay area a couple million. The house I grew up in, built in '55 is valued at over a million. Mom and dad paid a little over 9K, located in the San Fernando Valley.
Houses in California cost 3-4 times what they cost in Texas. I know people who have moved from Cali to Texas who were able to pay down a house in full with the California equity.
This is a model home. Builders make them of each kind of house that they will build in this neighborhood. The garage is usually made into an office to sell the different lots with the house type you want on it. That way you can see what you like about it or not. I have gone from model home to model home in different areas.
You can usually move the head of the shower 🚿 to adjust.
Personally, I like the shower heads attached to a cord and can be removed from the holder to be able to spray off bathroom cleaners.
Model homes are built in new developments so potential homeowners can see what's possible. Our home is in a very nice area in an upscale Houston suburb. We bought our house in '95 for about $170K and it's abt 3,400 sq ft. It's worth a lot more now. In a few years, we'll move into something smaller, easier to keep up. But I love our home, big back yard, great neighbors, nice pool, wonderful community, fantastic church. And Texas has no state tax.
I love your reaction.
Our old house had the overlooking balcony and it was only 140,000. Dollars… you can get things you want in houses that are less expensive. That is the game room, or another tv room, whatever you want it to be…
Wow - Sunday sermon on Saturday!😇
Model homes are used in large developments to sell the other houses that are newly constructed or still under construction. It would be impractical to stage all of them. Plus buyers who pre-buy will typically be given an opportunity to choose flooring, carpet, countertops, fittings, etc.
This house is cheap because it’s in Texas. Check out how little $800k will buy you in places like San Francisco, Seattle and NYC.
This is in Katy, TX. Those are definitely not mountains in the background 🤣
Was about to say. You want mountains in Tejas? Head aaalll the way west.
The ‘mountains’ are the roofs of the other homes in the neighborhood. In this area of Texas, there are no mountains, just rolling hills.
Yes, couples often share a shower together in the U.S. When you both have to head out to work in the morning, nobody got time to wait for someone else to finish their shower. Also, helps to have a friend to scrub your back.
And purchased homes can be customized inside to whatever you want. (Floors, tile, colors, hardware, etc.)
We like to conserve water so showering together is a good thing! 😄 Such a lovely home. The problem with big homes is there is so much more to clean and upkeep. Love the style though.
Chef's kitchen has professional level appliances and features in a home kitchen.
It’s missing the double ovens though.
You gotta remember, this house is in the Houston, TX area. A similar new-construction house where I live on the West Coast would easily cost 2X as much.
yeah i was gonna say in SoCal 600-700k might get you a 10 year or older home with much less square footage. California is a fkn ripp off
Where I live on east coast, that house would be around $400,000. That price would get you a few acres of land and an outbuilding or barn.
Here in northern Oregon, this house would likely go for $1-$1.5M
Oh, and we actually have mountains surrounding us, lol
Yes, that’s why so many people keep moving to Texas!
@@Carehood1 Out of curiosity, where on the east coast are you talking? I grew up in the DC area and recently moved from Virginia Beach and can’t fathom getting this much house for that price.
This is a model home, so it's like a sample home you can visit. Then you can have your own home built and customize details as it's built.
I can’t believe how affordable houses are in Texas! You can get a 2 bedroom condo for that price near me. And a fixer upper. Not new. That’s awesome!
And that’s after a major increase in prices the last few years. You should have seen the house prices five years ago, your head would’ve exploded.
And Katy is a very nice place. ❤
yet many Texans can’t afford it
@@travis1271 That's true.
Mudroom are usually right off the laundry room or close to the garage to where if you have muddy wet feet you take them off there in the mudroom, which is easier to clean sometimes there’s like a sink and stuff to wash your wash up and that way the dirty muddy boots don’t get throughout the house
The Bible Belt... 😂😂. When I moved down south, it was a bit of a culture shock. People asking what church I go to, assuming I went at all. After 16 years of 3 times of week going to church, I had enough for a lifetime.
Your reaction to the good/great news was Uber Epic😂. I seen the video before, so I couldn’t wait….for your reaction, had me in tears😂🤣
Mountains in Houston… heh… those be roofs of the neighbors
There ARE mountains in Houston, but they're all downtown. 🤣
It’s a model, it’s for show. You call the company and they will build that house anywhere you want it. And if you got the cash you can modify it any way you want, so long as they aren’t to heavily booked as they will sometimes say no to modifications that add to much time if things are to busy.
Dude I live in Louisville Kentucky USA my house cost like $90, 000 17 years ago, I have like 1,000 square feet, now that's normal.
This is a model home in a new neighborhood, as others have said. But a key thing to note is the price listed is the STARTING price. Most model homes include the majority of the available upgrades, so the model home may actually be a few hundred thousand dollars more.
If this house was in my area with all the upgrades it would be around $700-$750k. My house was $325k. The average home cost in my area is only $180k. That's because there are a lot of crappy tiny old homes or trailers that are around $100k or less, mixed with a lot of just average 3-4 bed family homes built from the 1940s-1980s that sell for $225k-$375k. My house is in the latter category. Older, spacious, functional but not really updated other than the kitchen. But we love it, it's everything we wanted and anything we dont want we can make our own in time.
I think modern American homes are ugly. For the same price you can get one of those beautiful Georgian houses in the UK. Funny; all the things Lewis likes most about the US...McMansions, fast food, Walmart, free refills, air conditioning...are all things I DON'T like. I guess I'm British at heart.
@@lynnw7155I agree, I like my older home. One of the reasons we didn't want a newer or remodeled home is because we hate the grey box syndrome. I would like an English home just as much. Although even though my home is older and has smaller rooms, I think it's still much larger than European homes in general lol but it's just normal where we live.
In the bay area 1 br and 1 bath condo not new costs 350K-400K
@@user-ke3ur5ej8tyeah but they're not getting paid $7.25/hr like people here either lol I've lived all over the country, cost of living is different but not as different as you think when considering salary difference. I had to move 4hrs to afford my house. In the area I came from $325k gets you an under 1000sqft outdated 80s 2bdrm townhouse in a bad neighborhood. Rent on a 1bdrm apartment is $1400/month. And minimum wage is $7.25.
I hear the property in Texas is much more affordable. It depends where you are in America, but in most places in America this house would be a million plus.
Also as a Christian, I appreciate that you were postive and didn't make fun of or put this guy down when he started sharing the Gospel. I don't know him or what his business plan is, but even as a serious Christian, I don't know that was the appropriate time for it. Maybe he is known as The Christian Realtor? Most people, even in the U.S., sadly, would be annoyed that he started talking about God and Jesus and grip about it or say unkind things.. So again, thank you for being open minded and not saying mean things and rolling with it. That was gracious and decent of you. 👍🏻🙏🏻😊🥰😎
That shower head is a blunder from the builder. Even our campers have flex rainfall showers and body sprayers
I love the fact that the hallway in the Texas home is as large as the apartment in New York! ❤😂😂
Bro, you're mental!! Katy Texas is over 700 miles from the nearest Mountain range!!! That was painful to watch! Also, like others pointed out, Katy floods like crazy! But trust me, they have lots of houses like these are in abundance in the Houston area that aren't in flood zones! Cheers mate!!
Welcome to Texas and their God fearing residents!
Btw Tejas doesn’t have basements. Other states like Georgia will have basements if you can walk out. So imagine a house like you just saw, except on the backside you’ll have an another story because of elevation drop. This means you’ll get another floor to do with as you wish.
I'm a Floridian but lived in TX for a few years and when we lived in TX for the same price as our house in South Florida our house was a 2 story brick house 2600 sq. came back to Florida and our house (much higher price) is only 2200 sq and definitely not at the same level!
we call these cookie cutter houses cause usually there are several styles and the whole neighborhood has just a couple different houses to choose from.
Lewis! Where's the ceiling? LOL, LOL, LOL. Your expressions are priceless.
I don’t dream about a house like this. I dream about living in a tiny house, one that I can hook to the back of a truck and move around the country.
There are no mountains in Katy, Tx. I lived in a Coventry Home in Katy Tx for 13 years. My husband at the time sold these houses for Coventry for 15 years in Katy. They are beautiful homes.
