Wow thats very powerful. Its as though us humans still want to take credit for at least having the sense to grab the rope thrown to us (faith in Christ) as if that provides some degree of merit. In reality it's all Him
@@codyvandal2860 precisely as far as I'm aware the scripture states that He has saved 'US' by His mercy. If God is indeed love as the scripture explicitly states, and has the desire is to save all mankind and creation, then who is going to stop him? Mercy cannot be stopped by a decision from the receiver.
@@codyvandal2860 I think because salvation is obviously a little more complex than what being saved actually represents in human time and understanding. Soteriology such as the doctrine of Aminianism and Calvinism both base salvation on the choice of man. Perhaps this is why it would obviously appear that not everyone is saved. However, the scripture seems to state that salvation belongs to the lord, so it is likely to include a plan of redemption including mercy restoration, judgement, separation, restitution, and all being subject to the love and mercy of God, and I'm not too sure this could all take place at once. However, it would seem the cross of Christ sealed the deal and Christ will take away the sin of the world Maybe good things take time.

The strength of our faith is in what Christ has done. Whether we have a weak faith or a strong faith, we have the same strong Christ! And we can, all who believe, bank on that.
It is not about the intensity or the clarity of the faith exercised but the Finished Work of Jesus Christ that brings salvation to those who put their faith on Him
He saved me three years ago and I haven't had a single moment of doubt. Why? Well its simple really. He saved me and I had nothing to do with it. It was all Him. I've doubted my righteousness and my Holiness but realising that Jesus was glorified on the cross settled it for me and brought clarity as to why I've never doubted and never will. How to know you’re saved: Are you convinced that Jesus is telling the truth when He says that He is the Christ, the one who gives everlasting life to all who believe in Him for it?
3:15 so how much fruit do I have to have? 3 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. 2Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? Never look to your works or “fruit” to know if you’re saved. Belief/faith is simple. It’s simply believing that what God has said is true. God promises to give eternal life to all who believe in Him for it. Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the one who gives eternal life to all who believe in Him for it? If so, you know that the promise applies to you too, and you have certainty of your eternal destiny. You have the promise of God Himself and God cannot lie. Seek to serve Him because you’re eternally secure, not to prove you have “really” believed. God bless!
Calvinist theology makes it impossible to be assured of salvation. Has anybody ever shown fruit of repentance, been convinced they were saved, and then fell away? Yes. What's the Calvinist answer? "Well, you were just never saved." Parsons says this explicitly at 3:16. Nobody can possibly know if they're not in that boat.
@Messenger Charles That may be the bottom line in answer to some question, but it's not the answer to this one, and it certainly doesn't deal with my objection, which is that on Calvinism, nobody can be sure whether they were called by the Father.
@Messenger Charles You're conflating the fact that God calls with how a specific individual *knows* he is called. Given Calvinist theological commitments, one can never be secure in that knowledge. Or do you disagree that someone can be deceived into thinking that he was called when he in fact wasn't?
No, the question isn't strength of faith, it's anxiety over the quality of that faith - is it a saving faith, or is it a faith that even the demons have? It's an inability to view whatever fruit we produce and give a well-founded estimate of our state before Christ. What you do in that moment of fear and anxiety, is what can give a measurable amount of assurance. Do you sit in despair, or do you turn your eyes onto Jesus? Another thing that causes fear of not being saved is presumption - presuming that I am in that number of elected people that Jesus bought. How can I claim that title of salvation, when I can't get a good grasp of my own faith, my own fruit, my own motives.... and then, all of that thinking leads to despair... but again, a measurable amount of assurance can be achieved with how you react to that despair. If you treat your despair and lack of assurance with the righteousness, and merits, and intercession of Christ, then that is an act done in faith, which can bring comfort.. Love for anyone who goes through this frequently. It is exhausting.
When you are not sure it shows you understand election by grace and you only look to christ for your salvation, the thief on the cross said "Lord remember me when you come into your kingdom" but what we see today in pentecostalism is pride and people even elevating themselves equal to God himself. It is so gross and scary.
Christ was the Saviour of ALL mankind accomplished at the cross where mankind and all creation was born again. CHRIST ACCOMPLISHED SALVATION FOR ALL HE WAS A SAVIOR THE CHRISTMAS STORY HAS IT RIGHT. Why then is the gospel unto all but only on those that believe. You don't know the difference between sin in the nature and sins. Sin is the root and sins are the fruit. Christ dealt with sin for all mankind and creation, but not the sins. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Christ died for the sins of the world.
You say if they put their faith into Christ’s atonement, but it is not our work, we put nothing forward, God does it all through Christ and the horribly high price he paid.

Please - want to know if you are saved? - ya don’t get there by first talking about the dangers of false assurance and analyzing yourself for fruit - why? - cause you always will fall short - and the admonition to then repent and resolve to do better - only leads to more failures. So where is the assurance? Finally the truth - believe the gospel - meaning know and believe God loves you and that your sins are all forgiven as testified by the resurrection and look not at yourself but upon Christ’s glory and who you are in Him.
