Love the video. Cleaning my farthers Christmas present I got him. A wooden boat. It's if the city sark 1869. Got it from good will and it's wooden. Cleaning it up and restoring it, before gifting it to him. Thanks for this video!
Good to see you back! Hope to see you building a new model soon. Love your tutorials as they are always detailed and informative. I always learn something new.
Gary, glad to see you're still there. I've been new to modeling for about a year or so. My wife got me the dora gun for Christmas. I've been using your videos as a guide. I've done the base similar to you, with some personal touches and changes for my style. Thanks for posting, I learn alot!
Hi Gary, good to see you back on the interweb., looking forward to your next project. For myself about half way though my P T 109 build, torpedo tubes so lots of lathe work. Best wishes Tom & Anita UK (P.M. for photos)
Really nice to see you back Gary. You were one of the few ship modellers out there who really inspired me to get back into the hobby after 25+ years. I'm on my 4th ship now: The Revell Bismarck. It would be really great if you became well enough to get back into it. Please could you do a video on all your model ship collection Gary. Frankie Day I see is one of the other modellers I love to follow, who like many of us has also been a supporter of the great work you produced. Welcome back
Welcome back Gary, good to see ya in a video again! I had no idea you were a stamp collector. In my first video i let everybody know i was a model builder, stamp collector and native American artifacts collector! Nice job showing how you clean your models, thanks for sharing!...Bill
G/day Mate, I can relate to the crook back, My model is a 6ft+ sailing ship model I enjoyed your advice my sails are pretty dirty as I live down wind of potato farms. Thanks mate Dave Bundy Downunder.
Hi Gary, really nice to see you again. So glad your feeling better, hopefully some time in the future you will be back on here doing models again Gary, it was always a pleasure watching you and to learn so much from you.If you do decide the time is right to get started again have you any idea what type of model you would like to do.Take good care of yourself Gary.Kind Regards, Richard (UK).
Good to hear from you, Gary. I am glad you are at least doing okay. I never really understood money and stamp collecting, but I do appreciate your videos on the stamps that teach me about the hobby. Feel free to upload what you like on that subject, I watch you for you and always enjoy learning new things.
Hi Gary hope you are doing well and in good health, just wanted to check in with you everyone is missing you and your incredible builds hope to see or hear from you real soon
Thanks Gary, glad to see your still kicking and as always you gave some great tips. In fact I am finishing up the sails on my Bluenose, did not turn out near as good as yours but had a blast building it. Feel you pain, have a very similar issue myself so know what you are dealing with. Take care my friend and looking forward to the next on when you can...')
Great to see you. Great technique for cleaning and dusting. One thing I did i bought a small inexpensive vacuum tweezer. I made a Cone tip from rtv and placed a small cover of nylon panty hose mesh to catch the dust in tight spaces. I also didn't like covering my model in glass at first. I came up with an idea of mounting my ship models on the wall. I made a plexiglas 4 sided case and mounted the model on a shelf like board with decorative shelf mounting I screwed the plexiglas cover on to the outside shelf edge . Just a thought I would mention. Don't sweat those who don't understand patience and foratude to see a teadious creation complete. They will never know or understand what we do. Gary I have made a good living by understanding "the eyes to perceive the brain conceive and the hands to achieve. Best of health and wishes.
Hope things are improving for you. I am laid up with a bad back and been re-watching all your videos on my iPad. Hope to be a bit more active soon. I turned my attention to railway modelling....weeeell probably more a case of ‘playing trains’ with a bit of modelling thrown in if I’m honest....lol!
Bad back!!!!!!! I know what that is. I love model trains, I think it can be more additive than models, and a lot more money. Take care and pop some pills.
I loved your build of the Arizona! Great as well as informal video, And after watching that particular build i thought? well I've built many models but have yet to build a Battleship, "Why not" keep the Videos coming, We who enjoy your builds as well as your channel miss you and hope that you feel better, none of us are getting any younger! So yes I can relate to the pain. And I also Subscribed, And it was well worth it. Thank you for everything.
Well as I live and breath!! Gary its great to see ya buddy! About a year ago you gave me a shout out and launched my channel viewership by about 60 subscribers! I thank you for that!Yer the man in my book! I hope ya get healthy enough to get back to what you love doing! Stop by the Drydock sometime and see what you helped create!! Lol See ya when we see ya! Take care my friend!! Brian
Gary - GOD BLESS YOU. Best to you, hope you have more good days than bad. I too have problems and some GOOD pain med, 6 a day. Some times it works very good, other WOW, not near. May you could build covers for the models so the dirt and dust keeps off. I do cars, I use shoe boxes - 2 cars to a box - these are clear and can stack. Ships are taller, a hand made clear plastic could work, just a thought. Best to you Gary, may GOD watch over you.
Great to see you back Mr Brinker - best thing you can do to stop dust is invest in a glass or acrylic display case for either a few models or several - it does make a difference - above all , ACRYLIC ones are much cheaper than you think - kind regards from Scotland
Welcome back Gary. Glad to hear you're getting around a bit better. I struggle myself. Pain pills don't touch it, but the steroid shots work a little. Take care, and watch those steps. Regards, Solomon
Hi Gary, hope you and your good wife are both keeping well. Hope you both have a happy Christmas and a great new year and hoping you will be back on youtube soon. Kind Regards Richard
Hot Damn, Gary's back!! I'm slogging my way through the Blunose, completely your fault! So I'm doing a lot of viewing of that series. Those chainplates, they are sons of....probly can't say that here. Anyway, take good care. Back pain is a real horror, best thing that worked for me was getting serious about all the stuff they taught me in physical therapy. It makes it bearable. Glad you are back!!
Damn the blue nose looks good I will have to watch your series on that model. I do like wood ship models but do better with the plastic one's. Looking forward to more from you. Happy to hear that you are doing well.
