Yup. This cat in Mirage and the note from Alex Hay in Starfield are the 2 most wholesome (yet kinda sad) easter eggs in video games that I've seen in a long time.
Definitely agree, it's a good year for tear-jerker easter eggs!
I liked the Greek merchants Easter egg, I think it was an Easter egg at least, when the merchant says “Malaka” it made me think of Odyssey 😂
Hate to break it to you but it wasn't an Easter egg. Small history lesson. Greece had the best position in the Aegean when it came to trade and they were the best at getting wherever they needed. Baghdad through trade spoke 4 main languages. One of them was Ancient Greek.

I believe that there was also a mandalorian Easter egg when you are training at alamut. You can speak to a fellow hidden one and practice throwing daggers, if you do well he will be amazed at your skill and Basim will say « this is the way »

The Cthulhu easter egg is probably one of the more involved lovecraft references i've ever seen
It's maybe my favourite Easter Egg of the year!
Please could you answer me a question or am I being dumb? How are the notes being read out? Is that an in game option for them to be spoken to you?
I think it must be an accessibility option, there's one for having the menu narrated too
The Cthulhu easter egg might also be tied to that one tomb in AC2, where if you wait at the edge of the water, a giant squid jumpscares you.

Plus there is also a weapon (I think) in syndicate that was a reference to lovecraftian horror
or it could tie to the upcoming Hexe?

I miss using the dual blades, double assassinations were so good!
About the Darius' first blade, it's not just referencing the Odyssey DLC, but AC2 and Origins as well. Darius had a statue under the Auditore villa and Aya told the story of the hidden blade when she gave it to Bayek.

In assassins creed 2 there was also a tentacle squid-like monster thing Easter egg, and also in black flag there was a squid attacking a whale Easter egg

The AC series loves their Lovecraftian secrets. Like the Giant Squids from AC II and AC IV Black Flag.. When playing Odyssey, I was honestly expecting a Giant Squid to drag my ship down beneath the waves when venturing too far from the map.
Feel like we went from Cryptids to Eldritch entities… quite the jump 😂

To add to the Cthulhu mythos, there's an eastern egg in AC2 where you encounter a giant squid in one of the catacombs, also in AC4 a "Kraken" makes an appearance, devouring a whale. there's definitely something at play with this eastern eggs.
Because I wanted to return all the books together I kept it in my inventory and after some time when you look in your inventory the book starts having a weird purple effect like it was sending out purple particals!

In the Karkh Burea, you can find a note referencing Ezio and his dual blades

Just dual blades in general. The guy had to chop off 2 of his fingers, and still was happy about it cuz it was much easier killing targets.
I always assumed Ezio was the first dual blade user. Now I realise that’s a stupid thing to assume 😂 wish Ubisoft would bring them back though
Well in Revelations, you can dual wield with Altair, and it was his Codex that prevented other Assassins to cut their fingers, also thats how DaVinci was able to give Ezio dual wielding without losing any fingers
the biggist easter egg is the building of the assassin home which shows masiaf being built you get to see this in the first game, also number 2 when basim comes to be initiated in to the hidden ones this is the place of the great libray where altires body is found in ac revalations xxx
This is actually a common mistake, the castle being built is Alamut castle, not Masyaf. Also, Altaïrs library is in Masyaf, not Alamut, and has also not been built yet.
That's not an Easter Egg, just the game's story and lore 👍🏻

When Basim is still an initiate at Alamut before he becomes a hidden one he drops a very iconic line during his training. He is clearly heard to say "This is the way", not long before he enters the cave to swear his oath and receive his hidden blade.
I love that one because it drives home a comparison between The Assassin's and Mandalorians i have been making for a VERY long time.

The treasure hunter outfit resembles the outfit of the Nazari Ismali (the inspiration of Assassin's Creed) as it is depicted in images

Considering how convoluted AC lore has become, who knows the Eldritch beings are a creation of the Isu like the Greek mythological beasts in Odyssey?
Very possible, I was leaning towards the Eldritch being pre-dating the Isu but who knows!

I want to say that the Hytam easter egg is also an Ipman 2 reference where at the end of the film Ipman (spoiler) meets Bruce Lee and bruce says that he wants to become Ipman's student, that will become, and Ipman says "Seek me out when your voice begins to break. Then we will talk." I don't know why so many people didn't found this reference

Kitab Al Azif is also the original name of the book according to Lovecraft's lore. Abdul Al Hazred wrote it in Damascus I believe

I think you didn't mention this one but there is a note you can find which has a poem written as reference to Prince of Persia Sands of Time (this is separate from the deluxe edition skins)

There a note in one of the hideouts I think it was, but it talks about a person using 2 hidden blades.
It’s a nice detail but it’s not a reference sadly, just world building - Ezio’s dual blades are hundreds of years later
I like the fact that you play with no HUD adds to the immersion I do that all the time for games
Ubisoft games are great for it! You can choose specific elements to still show, like button prompts, so you don’t miss anything
The Last easter egg seems would fit to the AC Hexe they making.. can't wait for dark game coming :3
People want to complain and whine about even insignificant things in some jaded, bitter view of this franchise. Too wrapped in being mad about them trying something different... well I say, excluding the awful walking animation that makes him look like his feet are 500lb weights (which I hoped would die after Valhalla)? I love this game. I love the things we got, recycled or not. And I appreciate your video!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I had a great time playing Mirage, the series was beginning to feel less like an “Assassin” game and more just historical epics, but Mirage’s focus on stealth and assassinations was exactly why the franchise needed imo

This is not leonardo .. he is an Arabian Scientest Called .. Abbas ibn fernas .. he tried to create a flying machine .. after many attempts he failed eventually 😂😂

@BiggEasterEggs it threw me as well when I found it. It's in the 2nd or 3rd assassins hideout you visit when you do the story. It also states the assassin couldn't wait to cut off his 2nd finger. Didn't exio keep his fingers? Been a while since I played it

There is also a note in Alamut that states a Byzantine Assassin has the idea of 2 hidden blades, and is excited to try it out. But this goes against the Codex pages in AC2, where Altair says he had the idea.
More than one person can have the same idea. Just look at how many people claim to have invented ice cream.

The heytham Easter egg got me shocked for 10 minutes. Very very nice little addition to the story of Valhalla and basims and heytham's lore.
The treasure hunter garb is actually a historical accurate depiction of the Hashassins, its what AC1 is loosely based on.
Wear it if you want to look like a historically accurate assassin.

you know, the writer of el-Azif book, was a sorcerer, te tried to communicate with beings that lived in earth before humans themselves, thats why when he died, his death was glorious, a crack opened in the sky and a great unidentifiable creature opened its mouth and swalloed his house, his name was abd-allah ibn el-Hazard, the word Azif means the flow of cold wind in the desert night

The horse animations, sounds and asset have been repeated since AC3
I would've thought they would improve them with the newer consoles
New consoles or not, a good horse animation is a good horse animation. The game's have improved/improved a lot since AC3

I didn't catch all of these, I did love the Hytham one though before the reveal was slightly anxious I'd just murdered a child 😅 I was a creep and followed him & his pals to where they lived just outside of the city in case there was another easter egg there, there wasn't one but it was still cool!

You can actually also find a short text that talks about Ikaros, who is the eagle of Kassandra, "Ikaros rises higher and higher and then disappears into the clouds if I remember correctly. If you want to find it look on the roof of the first woman you have to kill to get to the order member in the house of wisdom

Nah I thinks it's a reference to the book of the dead from The Mummy 1999 with Brendan Fraser
Not an easter egg but I loved playing it with Arabic voice actors (with english subs!), it really added to the immersion. I think you could play AC: 11 and Brotherhood with Italian voice actors as well which was great, I hope it continues with the next games!

After watching your video and reading the comments it seems I need to dive back into the game for some extra treasure and secrets. I saved my contracts so I could go back. Now I have more reasons to put in more hours. I may even take time and see if I can find something out in the waters.
After completing the story, I enjoyed finishing the extra content quite a bit - I normally wouldn't bother but I platinumed it in the end

When you go back to the hideout at the end of the game, there is a note talking about building a new hideout in Jerusalem because of rumors of a powerfull piece of eden, which is referencing the start of the hideout that you're in in ac1
I don't think that outfit is an indianna jones easter egg, rather its a concept outfit for altier from early development of ac1 based off the real hashshashins
For me, I think the name/description are what make it an EE, not just the look
the assassin cat I think was talked about at the red carpet event content creators attended, so it should be pretty much confirmed

The part about the cult of cthullu is linked to the book/ Kitab Al-Azif because in my culture its referenced as an actual book that summons other worldy creatures to our world in which case they either drive the reader mad or just kill him in strange circumstances or so goes the story...

ah c'mon, my favorite one is missed! The letter from the Prince of Persia to Farah signed as Kakolookiyam (find "Just call me Kakolookiyam" vid)! It can be found on the bench near the Palace and it brightens the day of old Ubi fans. Even though they ruined the PoP series, that story still lives in our hearts and it's so great that they added this little easter egg to the game (I so hoped PoP costume will be from the classic trilogy, though...).

The criticism isn't just that they re-used animations from Valhalla, but that Ubi said they *wouldn't*

The whole lovecraft element could work within the canon ISU storyline. They could’ve been ISU-created monsters that protected something or perhaps they were created to scare their human slaves. Many different ways to go about it but something like that could work

I'd like to point out that the Isu Armor in this game features a hood and a mask (a faceless cult looking mask) and the colours of the Isu armour matches the colours Monstrous and Eldritch Talismans.
This makes me think that the Eldritch gods were either Isu themselves like Odin, Zeus or Anubis. Or perhaps Isu experiments like the Gorgons and Cyclops's.

Don't remember the exact location but one cave in the wilderness with a gear chest in it looks exactly like the one from Pirates of the Carrabian 1!
In Lovecraftian mythos the Necromonicon, or book of the dead, was written by a Middle Eastern madman called Abdul AlHazerd. The note references that name. I think it’s a nod to Lovecraft rather than a direction for Assassin’s Creed mythos.

-honestly i only catched that easter egg in Odyssey as i was doing illegal stuff (think i was blowing up silos somewhere) and tried to run from the place but once i ran into the field he suddenly stoped running and start walking "the Maximus way" and then i got the easter egg immediately
-problem with color filter is that in ac1 i had a feeling every town have its own filter,so only including one of them kinda failed the nostalgia bringing purpose

The cat easter egg was recently confirmed by Ubisoft.
Also, if you equip the Cthulhu talisman when you have the book in your inventory, it will glow a strange purple. Don't know if it has any other significance.
How can you have both though? You get the Cthulhu Talisman for turning in the book... do you mean the talisman from the enigma?

There is another cat easter egg, in the burnt village there is a cat who wants you to kill the snakes. If you follow him and kill all the snakes, he will go back to the village and his owner will come to you and thank you for it
