if there's one thing I must choose to agree from this video, is that player progression shouldn't be locked behind the hardest content. Let the hard content give extra reward to encourage ppl to try it. It shouldn't be blocking ppl's progression. Not everybody is hardcore
Honestly, I think the raid design is just getting worse and worse for homework since they decided to reduce the raids. The new raids post Thaemine just feel like there was a meeting when they were designing raids and everybody went "What if the boss did this, then this, then this, then this, then this..." and then they added it all of the ideas in. I get that they want to make the raid "stunning" but at this point raids are just getting more taxing. Sure they reduced the gates, but they increased the length of the gates by 2 - 3x times. Weekly raids imo, should not take longer than 10 minutes per gate.
Watching this video, made me realise how much I'm missing the times where I was missing mats instead of gold. I have so much mats that I can't use because you need to spread gold along, honing to 1620, elixirs, transcendence, gems, and then comes t4, you'll be eternally gatekept for not having even one of those.

Hit 1620 just to be tortured with elixirs and transcendence and advance honing. So fun losing your soul honing to 1620 just to get hit with a bunch of other systems to hinder your raiding. A lot of classes feel like they were designed for a different game because they basically were. Compare something like enhanced weapon deadeye to full moon SE or RH destro to brawl king. It's ridiculous.

Like why is there still gold cost to get to 1620 if you're trying to reset the game with 1640? Why make Aegir accessible at 1660 if you want to replicate the Valtan experience. This is just so dumb.
Love how they said they were getting rid of entropy then doubled down on making ew deadeye back attack/close shot reliant and forced them to have a 5th shotgun skill on top of that
i quit 1 year ago i would say, too many changes are required, they just need to develop lost ark 2 and rework the complete system of grinding in the game > and more. A complete new game that can bring back people who left long ago and new players

Too little, too late. Their player numbers are in the toilet. Players are done with this grind. It's unrewarding, it's frustrating, it's too much. I certainly not hyped for any of this. I'm fucking pissed it's taken this long for these devs to realize this is what they should have done in the first place. My enjoyment of the game declined as soon as voldis was released in NA.

The biggest problem imo are the gold sinks. Why do I spend hundreds of thousands of gold for ilvl to do new content and then i have to also pay 500k+ gold to use the new progression system. So basically youre losing double the gold. If you don't rmt its literally impossible to have t4 ready characters with full elixirs transcendence, wp transcendence and echidna honing
The trick is don’t play for a year and get all these things for free, the power pass gets higher level every patch and the mokoko express eventually will end up at 1640 in a year or so „so new player can catch up“
If you are a new player, I can't imagine starting Lost Ark right now. There is zero reset like we see in other MMOs and thus no ability for entry to the game. Right now, even with T4.....there is absolutely no way for new players to play, and the gold requirement is insane. I do enjoy the game and will continue to play, but I would NEVER recommend this game to a new player without willing to spend >$10k.
i just came back and its hell, i had to sell all my old gems just to have money to tap, im squeezed from everywhere, all i get is material upon material rewards with no gold to use any of it lmfao, i thought after 2 years they would've got the idea by now, i dont think any of the devs play the game
@Linkyst honestly exaggerating just makes you seen like a liar. Yes tapping is expensive. Of with the events and the books it's not nearly as bad having to sell all your gems to tap you do make 150k to 200k in raids alone.

I just want to know the reason why they still block the transcendence behind g3, I don't mind if it's normal. What's their reason for that? Forcing us to play a content that some players don't want to play so their data doesn't show that raid is a failure?
I'm a casual player with the luxury of time to play for 16 hours a day if I really wanted, maybe more if my sleep schedule is fucked. I played on Western launch and have come back on and off, mainly only when an express event is on or another boost event is on. Why? The entire process of honing and grinding gold for honing, grinding gold for stronghold progress, grinding mats for honing and stronghold progress, grinding for card sets, grinding, and general progression is fucking miserable. Horizontal progression is beneficial but that means having multiple characters, meaning you have to repeat the honing and gear grind on every single character for best results. I haven't even gotten to elixers. I'm no stranger to grinds or farms. I've played WoW, I've been playing FFXIV for 10 years, Warframe for 4,000 hours, most recently The First Descendant (not a fun one), Elite Dangerous engineering farm/grind to upgrade and enhance your ship (getting my Fed Vette and Cutter to full A-C was living hell along with my Krait Phantom), Destiny 2 power grinds, Planetside 2 cert grind (when it was still 1,000xp for 1 cert, it's since been nerfed (upgrades range from 750+1,000+ certs across multiple levels, multiple factions, multiple classes, multiple gear sets for each class). On top of that, I don't play in groups and I play solo. I've been in way too many dungeons and raids where one death is an instant vote restart, even when a body check isn't going to be a wipe nor will it cost the run in the slightest. The general thought of "bulldoze everything" in the Lost Ark community is aggravating. I get why it exists, because people have to do this on multiple characters, but at the same time, it's aggravating. I've been in dungeons with people claiming "no DPS" and vote to quit because me or the other players are on gear level to enter the dungeon and we aren't 100+ levels over the entry requirement (someone in full 1540 gear tried to vote quit the 1320-1340 Punika abyss dungeon claiming "no dps"). Further adding to the problem, as you said, is locking progression behind hard content. I avoid group play for progression because I don't have 5x3+1 or full level 9-10 gems with Lostwind Cliff set and elixers which gets me gatekept, HARD. I enjoy playing the game. I enjoy my beautiful, badass, buff Slayer. I like being able to turn enemies to a fine red mist. I like seeing big yellow damage numbers. The process to get to that point is absolute hell, and having to do it across multiple characters for the sake of progression is fucking miserable and it's why I uninstall the game after every express event or boost event that I finish. The game is becoming more and more terminally un-enjoyable because the grind is not fun. Every update I see where they introduce a new continent or area I think "Great, more shit I can't do because I don't have the item level" because I avoid the content raids and hard content for my own sanity and enjoyment of the game. Games should be fun, and when they aren't fun, I stop playing.
Lol I came back at solo release and cant even bring my roster past 1415 cause bound gold is so low that you can’t maintain a glow of blue orehas. Cost to farm,cost to make all to HONE and be a literal year behind. Ive went from 1500-1515 and a 1350-1437 in the last 4 weeks. Everything fails. There should be a 100% honestly rate up to like 1580. Having 2 chars at 1437 and 1515 I make maybe 8k bound gold a week and that can be gone in minutes. Im trying but im getting nowhere. Ill be 1620 in 2030 at this rate.

Agree, I came back from a 2 year break because of the solo mode, been enjoying until last night when I got to 1540 and now I need like 350 gold for each honing attempt at less than 10% success rate? I'm out again, I need to start playing farming mode or put money into the game wich I'm not going to.

It shouldn't take 1.5 months to get full Akkan gear. All gold sinks need to be removed. Pity should be enabled on quality upgrades, especially on weapons. I finally cut a 40 set elixir on my MAIN. I finally started transcendence on my MAIN.

If they have 6 months and we had 3 months then we should have gotten double everything. super easy to just sunset elixir and transcendence. keep weapon transcendence and advance honing and help people reach the new season stuff. Season launches mean a restart there is ZERO difference between how T4 launched and how valtan launched and valtan SHOULD have been the start of T4 brel should have started T5 Ivory should have started T6 and bahemoth should be starting T7 but SG dont understand how to keep a rotation of new players

No. I agree with you, normal mode should be made easier. But this game's raids are made in mind with you playing with your guild, friends, being overgeared. They are making the raids as punishing as can be because in the "data" they mention so many times they can see how overgeared people are. Of course those people are overgeared though, they want to kill the boss as fast as possible. I don't think they are taking in consideration other players who might not have full elixirs, transcendence, advanced honing, cards, gems etc. They are only acknowledging it now, so we will see what will come out of this.

I might be wrong, but isn't it a little bit korean community fault, cause with elixir we got the confirmation that when you complain about something you got listened, so if the game is in this situation might be even community fault. Do not see this as a blame. For example the potion from the new field boss, complain about it, tell fair and square that should not be RNG and keep complain until they rework it.

I've been in dungeons with people claiming "no DPS" and vote to quit because me or the other players are on gear level to enter the dungeon and we aren't 100+ levels over the entry requirement (someone in full 1540 gear tried to vote quit the 1320-1340 Punika abyss dungeon claiming "no dps"). Further adding to the problem, as you said, is locking progression behind hard content. I avoid group play for progression because I don't have 5x3+1 or full level 9-10 gems with Lostwind Cliff set and elixers which gets me gatekept, HARD.
I enjoy playing the game. I enjoy my beautiful, badass, buff Slayer. I like being able to turn enemies to a fine red mist. I like seeing big yellow damage numbers. The process to get to that point is absolute hell, and having to do it across multiple characters for the sake of progression is fucking miserable and it's why I uninstall the game after every express event or boost event that I finish. The game is becoming more and more terminally un-enjoyable because the grind is not fun. Every update I see where they introduce a new continent or area I think "Great, more shit I can't do because I don't have the item level" because I avoid the content raids and hard content for my own sanity and enjoyment of the game. Games should be fun, and when they aren't fun, I stop playing.
Lol I came back at solo release and cant even bring my roster past 1415 cause bound gold is so low that you can’t maintain a glow of blue orehas. Cost to farm,cost to make all to HONE and be a literal year behind. Ive went from 1500-1515 and a 1350-1437 in the last 4 weeks. Everything fails. There should be a 100% honestly rate up to like 1580. Having 2 chars at 1437 and 1515 I make maybe 8k bound gold a week and that can be gone in minutes. Im trying but im getting nowhere. Ill be 1620 in 2030 at this rate.
Any eta for when any of this will be implemented? Esp the elixir and trans stuff

Agree, I came back from a 2 year break because of the solo mode, been enjoying until last night when I got to 1540 and now I need like 350 gold for each honing attempt at less than 10% success rate? I'm out again, I need to start playing farming mode or put money into the game wich I'm not going to.

Im in your boat and seeing people spending like 3-4k on transendence trys and failing and people spending like 3-4k for elixer attempts. So basically I see someone streamers pulling in 2-300k gold a week playing legit full rosters and watching that go to shit. We get Crumbs for money, there literally telling us to fuck ourselves they dont give a shit about the players. They made there money and thats all they care. Even AGS support has told me

It shouldn't take 1.5 months to get full Akkan gear. All gold sinks need to be removed. Pity should be enabled on quality upgrades, especially on weapons. I finally cut a 40 set elixir on my MAIN. I finally started transcendence on my MAIN.
Gold sinks were made for KR players. Blame them for being able to farm so much gold 😂😂😂

Veterans know the pain of being unable to get a random group on alt, and returning players understand it is pointless to do chaos dungeons, to never be able to do new raids. Dead Game.

No. I agree with you, normal mode should be made easier. But this game's raids are made in mind with you playing with your guild, friends, being overgeared. They are making the raids as punishing as can be because in the "data" they mention so many times they can see how overgeared people are. Of course those people are overgeared though, they want to kill the boss as fast as possible. I don't think they are taking in consideration other players who might not have full elixirs, transcendence, advanced honing, cards, gems etc. They are only acknowledging it now, so we will see what will come out of this.

I might be wrong, but isn't it a little bit korean community fault, cause with elixir we got the confirmation that when you complain about something you got listened, so if the game is in this situation might be even community fault. Do not see this as a blame. For example the potion from the new field boss, complain about it, tell fair and square that should not be RNG and keep complain until they rework it.
