I totally agree.
And yet he, and everyone else, dropped the ball on Charlie having to waive. Donna waived the conflict, but even if Charlie waived, he had the right to change his mind up until the very end. Rashbaum played everyone like fools and now has better leverage to negotiate. Rashbaum never will try another case in Tallahassee, plus he made a ton of cash here, and Charlie and Donna seem to be pleased with him.

I read the Radius messages to and from Harvey. Harvey tried HARD to get the money back from Radius for the Vietnam villa “investment.” Apparently, Charlie gave Radius money, so his Vietnamese wife could buy land and build a villa. It is illegal for a foreigner to own property, so the deal was verbal. Harvey begged Radius “to do the right thing” by giving Harvey Charlie’s investment (around 136K). I think Harvey will go tens times harder on Rash to be compensated for this mess.

It is chilling that Rash was ever a prosecutor. He is false, through and through and his arrogance isn't a new thing with him. He has probably ruined lives all through his career, with his inherent dishonesty.
Yet nobody ever mentioned that Charlie needed to waive, as well, and even if Charlie waived the conflict, he could change his mind up until the very end. Another missed opportunity by the pundit crowd.

Thanks for all the time, effort and energy STS devotes to covering the Markel case and for the time the guests, like Tim J, and ProPo, so generously give. We are all upset about the continuance of the trial. Frankly, I cannot wait to find out the $ being charged to the defense for this continuance. It's going to be a huge number, no doubt. Eventually the $ runs out, doesn't it? One would think.
Tim I hear ya but Alex also knew about the unethical aspects of the trial were to have continued. All involved parties have blame.

I HOPE Wendi didn’t move out of Miami for a “fresh start”. That would be the worst thing I’ve ever heard. The whole purpose of the murder was so that Wendi could move to frigging Miami. What a sickening waste.
That imploded like that horrific condo not long ago.
TIm, Dan told the Court and prosecutors in open court on the record he had signed waivers. How can the state prosecutors be accountable for that. Dan LIED and now the judge and prosecutors have the obligation of filing a compliant to the Bar.

Im just a citizen and knew that having the same lawyer innrelated case same people this wouldnt be approved by the Judge and if he/she approved it It did slip by it’d be grounds for a mistrial or appeals

Why would the judge or state allow any lawyer to continue in this case that is not squeaky clean of conflict? If Charlie could have withdrawn consent late in the trial the whole thing is a house of cards?
They want to know if you believe them because the thought is if you don’t believe me you can not represent me.

Donna WAS NOT “fine w ending her life and leaving everything to her grandkids--“ if she WERE, she would have. Instead, she tried to escape to Vietnam.
The suicidal- euphemisms were a performance for the benefit of the people she was talking to (directly and indirectly), IT WAS A GUILT-TRIP. Wendi wasn’t giving in to her bids for control, she was losing. Her daughter was ignoring her, wouldn’t even answer her call... (PREPOSTEROUS!! since EVERYTHING is now and always has been About Donna!)-
SO She wanted Charlie and Harvey (and anyone in her orbit who Wendi might pick up the phone for) to say
“OHHH WENDI PLEASE! YOU MUST CALL YOUR POOR MOTHER! SHE’S TALKING ABOUT ENDING IT ALL! IS NOT WELL, AND YIU WONT EVEN TALK TO HER! Oh POOORR DONNA..!!!!!”
Just another means to control Wendi and her kids, as well as get control, sympathy and fuel from those around her “OH NO DONNA DONT DO IT! YOURE SUCH A GOOD MOTHER?l, A SAINT--WE NEED YIU WE LOVE YOU-_WENDI IS CRAAAAZY FOR CUTTING YOU OUT…”
And I’m CERTAIN that is not the first time those around her will

Hope Karm is feeling better. I’m around little kids a lot and I call them little Petri dishes.
You need to remember she was not arrested and just like all of us can go where ever we want to! This I thought was clear from what all sides said. Since it was a 1 way trip to a country where there is not an extradition treaty it can be introduced as evidence of guilt, but that is a fact to be found by the jury and doesn't automatically mean that it shows guilt. Even contacting Dan isn't an issue because legally there was absolutely NO legal reason why she couldn't leave the country. If he said to "do it soon" then it looks like complicity on his part but still he was not advising her to break the law. (Yes I think it shows she was fleeing because she was guilty but that is just my opinion. A jury has the final word as the finder of fact.)
Maybe Charlie is just trying to save his mother because he thinks he got a crappie defense.

❓Didn’t Wendy get immunity so she would testify? If so, with everything they asked her in the various trials, how could they use any of that against her? What other evidence could they possibly have to charge her outside her public testimony?
Limited immunity.
