Been looking for a Custodes grimdark painting style that doesn't look stupid for ages. I love the Custodes but their golden armor is really bright and kinda boring. This makes them so much more interesting. Great video as always.
Hey question for ya. I have been using Villainy inks on my past few projects, but with my latest one I’ve had a hell of a time getting them enamels to dry. They have been sitting for 3 days and some spots where it pooled slightly or are deep in cavities are still wet. Any ideas or recommendstions?
Dude what's with the Andrew Tate intro? A self-proclaimed misogynist who has been charged with trafficking, sexual exploitation and worse. Why would you want to even refer to him in your video?
@@TheFeralPainter that's sad to hear, I have really been enjoying your channel, but I prefer miniature painters who don't use misogynist influencers to promote their content.
Hey man great video as usual one of my favourite quick old gold recipe is Blighted gold by P3 and 2 to one mix of coliagreen shade and null oil. Easy quick and effective.
Oh yes. They look great. Tbh id use the same scheme for the white as i did in my world eaters videos. Then apply the good used in this video. Hope that helps thanks
DUDE what happened to your armor>>> WELL WHAT DO YOU EXPECT happens to armor when all you do is stand around all day for 10,000 years with your back to a throne of a guy sitting around all day doing nothing while we help scratch the itch on his right buttcheek...
Very cool! One of if not the best grimdark custodes around! For reference, what pigment did you use to tie the base and the model together? The bottle looks like an abteilung one but I'm not sure.
Hey I've been loving learning about grimdark style from all your videos thanks for all your hard work! Any chance you might consider doing a grimdark world eater or maybe even Khârn in the future? They are my favorite faction but I've been struggling to get a good grimdark scheme going for them with a sponge stippling technique for a year now. Would love to see your grim dark style on them and learn more from you!
@TheFeralPainter of course and that's so awesome to hear! Bonus points if you can make the chipping look like there's gore/dried blood under the paint on the armor. That's what I'm going for anyhow since I don't think they'd ever wash that off knowing world eaters repainting their gear XD Struggling quite a bit on getting the different reds like that to contrast enough though. But I'll look forward to the future vid. Thanks again and keep up the awesome work!
Mate, I'm using your paint scheme for my Allarus Custodians, but I'm having a very hard time following what you did with the reds/cloak. Can you tell me exactly which colors you used for the reds and how you applied them? Sorry if you explained it in the video, I'm just having a very hard time following.
Basecoat ak black red Then dry brush ak deep red Then final highlight/drybrush evil suns scarlet. Tabbards are: basecoat of rinox hide. Highlighted/drybrush ak hull red
Great video and tutorial! Really makes me want to paint in that way. One thing that I would like to point out, is that the end shot and the thumbnail picture made the model look much darker and fuller than it seemed during the painting process and I guess irl. Again, thanks for the video and wish you the best!
Just as I see you use the gold pigment, my favourite gold recipe is 3 drops Vallejo Metal Color Copper, 2 drops Vallejo Metal Color Gold, and enough of the antique gold pigment to thicken it up a bit (as they're both airbrush paints). It's a beautiful gold I use heavily.
Terradon turqoise is honestly fantastic for painting gems at the end though it does dry pretty matte so if you want a really shiny look it might not be the best for that. As for the eyes contrast paint plus off white is your friend but try to pick one of the more pigmented contrast or contrast alternatives. For great looking orange eyes just do AK pastel Yellow then a thin coat of Magmadroth flames. For great violet eyes AK pastel Violet plus Doomfire magenta or cardinal purple xpress color from vallejo also works great. Still figuring out some of the other colors though since you want pretty pigment dense contrast paints.
Did not expect to all of a sudden a Andrew tate pops up and descibes the faction. that was surpsirisng and cool. And on topic the Miniature looks amazing👌 Grimdark all the way

So so good, that ending Lion and Azrael????? You gotta be kidding me when will you post that vid?
Yup
@@TheFeralPainter posting soon mate🙏🏼?
Now that's one spicy, sassy Custod. Thanks, Andy!

sorry for your loss - amazing paint
Thanks a bunch
Any recommendations for an alternative to the decayed metal from eg citadel or army painter?
Castalaxx bronze citadel
How much to pay you to paint me a custodes army like this?
Reach out on instagram dude we can chat
Any recommendations on an alternative brown primer? Unfortunately an airbrush isn’t an option currently
Just use black. It will work fine, and drybrush or stipple quickly rhinox hide over
@@TheFeralPainter Ah yeah that makes sense lol. Thanks for the quick reply, and wonderful job on this Custodian and all your other models
Thanks brother ☺️☺️☺️ really means alot. Enjoy your painting ☺️

That will be the finish. Try spraying over with a matt varnish, or with mineral spirits. Have you checked out the resource page?

Thats correct its a grey/ash grey abteilung one. Thanks so much for the kind words
Another great video! I just bought some Kraut basing stuff after your recommendation. Would love a video on how you approach bases mate!
Thanks i have a video coming out friday on kraut cover ☺️
thanks. I made a horrible mess of my gold and has been looking for a solution that doesn't include airbrushing.
Enjoy
That's some great looking custodes! Yesterday I finished painting my own so in a month it would seem that I just copied you 😂😂
That is awesome! Hope u enjoyed
Subbed just because of the Tate dub at the end lol. And ofc the mini is so sick. Thanks man

👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Damn, makes me want to start a custodes right now 😢
Sorry hahaha u can use this gold on other things too if that helps
Any Australian distributor for the Krautcover products
Ill be honest im not sure
Not Krautcover, but GAP does Geek Gaming Scenics, which have similar products under their "Base Ready" range.
Just got chills after watching the teaser
Thanks man
This is high quality, thank you feral love your videos

No yhey suck now 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hahhaha
I’m not pleased by there not being air brushing.
Who would paint an army without an airbrush?
Someone without an airbrush 😂😂
@@TheFeralPainter if you can afford warhammer you can afford an airbrush. A good airbrush and compressor costs less than a single box of models.

Great video as usual! Just wondering whether you use any varnishes before your enamels please?
I don't. The satin varnish that i mix in with the gold actually slightly protects. However i dont usually varnish unless the occasion calls for it
