    I like your channel, I am a researcher of these groups, which in most cases have only created demo tapes, in fact few experts know them, as a performer myself of the Berlin or experimental genre, I am convinced that as you are spreading these wonders, few know or are aware of the genre or sound genres I am part of a character who composes them, but, for what I am, I remain in the shadows making music for friends, I do not like entering the world of the market, indeed I do the opposite thanks for having made these wonders available, as a composer, I am enjoying them all by Robert Nesh

    All of these cool prog electronic albums are getting recommended to me. It's a nice change of pace from the usual stuff I listen to.

      I didn't even know most of these were on youtube, but they're awesome and right up my alley. Could never find this stuff when I looked.. then it decided to give me tons of recommendations. A lot of this stuff is lost to time and it's a tragedy.
      I guess I had to listen to a lot of Shriekback + Dungeon Synth to make it realize I'd love this.

    One of the darkest Electronic pieces I know of is from Stomu Yamashta Iroha-Ka . It begins at 18:56 and the video is on UA-cam. It was taken from vinyl

    What's the difference between Progressive Electronic and Berlin School?

    • @TremblingBeauty
      @TremblingBeauty  Місяць тому +4

      AFAIK Berlin School is more geographically focused around Germany in the late 70s and is pretty closely associated with Krautrock, where Prog Electronic is kind of its precursor in the 60s when synthesizers became popular and accessible. Honestly - I've always just viewed them interchangeably. It can be Berlin School, it can be Progressive Electronic, it can be Cool Awesome Synth Music

      “Berlin School” grew out of the “Krautrock” movement of the late ‘60’s and early ‘70’s by way of “Kosmische Musik,” the term coined by the founder of "Tangerine Dream," Edgar Froese, in preference to Krautrock.
      Kosmische eschewed the standard Blues/Rock structure of the contemporary music of the time and utilised long improvised ambient washes of layered sound and experimental, avant-garde explorations of what it was possible to produce with mainly electric/electronic analogue instruments such as guitars and keyboards/synthesisers.
      With the addition of analogue sequencers on Tangerine Dream’s 5th studio album, “Phaedra" (1974), the original Berlin School sound was born, and was taken up and built upon by German contemporaries Klaus Schulze, and Manuel Göttsching, amongst others.
      The Berlin School sound was then popularised for the masses by “Kraftwerk,” and its influence can still be heard today in the Trance, EDM, and Progressive Electronic etc. genres.
