She probably forgot to mention it here, but in another one of these short "ask me" clips, she said that she wrote the bridge (the middle part that ends with the big soaring note). That bridge really makes the song.

It sounds like the choir was practicing or being filmed for the music video when Grace walked up behind them, but since the people in music videos are lip syncing, Grace just saw the backs of a choir full of people rocking in place while sort of mumbling the words to the song. Sounds awkward indeed.

"Clearly" was not included on the album because Johnny Nash was incommunicado due to the Florida hurricane. When the Columbia finally got his permission, THEN they published.

When she said her mom told her that "I Can See Clearly Now" was a song by Johnny Nash, I thought it was some kind of joke at first, because duh, it's obviously Bob Marley's song. Like, maybe some guy named Johnny Nash made a cover of it at some point, but it's obviously by Bob Marley originally, everybody knows that. But then I googled it and realized I'm the one who's been living in a lie my entire 28-year-old life. Apparently Bob Marley never sang that song, not even as a cover. The only thing they used was a few lines of the chorus (with Johnny Nash's permission) the rest is a totally different song. To say otherwise shows you never listened to the original. I don't know, I am beginning to see certain expected responses from her for the sake of fans. I loved watching her on AGT, and afterwards, because I sense humility and kindness and honesty in her, but now it seems she wants to be seen, or expects others to see her as, some genius of an artist. The Ukulele is the easiest by far to play of all the Guitars, especially the way she plays it. And song-writing anyone can do. Any. One. Many simply choose not to. Its that simple. The type of song-writing all pop singers do is very basic and cheap at best. The actual Good ones are hardly around anymore (most in the "Classic Rock" era specially). Shawn Mendes and Ed Sheeran's music is basic, cheap and simple. There is nothing special about it. Listen to Metallicas "Fade To Black", Led Zeppelins "What Is And What Should Never Be" are but two of the many, many, many amazing songs that alone in themselves are better than everything those other two have put out combined. I am saying song writing today is mostly Crap when compared to actual talents of the past.

Regardless of your feelings toward it , Grace is the youngest ever Fender signature artist . It wasn't her who coin herself a genius , it has been others and in this video she was referring to Ido Zmishlany as the genius . What were the members of Metallica and Zep doing at age12, 13 again ? Grace's lyrics are already better than Sheeran's and Mendes at 13 in my opinion , have you seen her interpret the meaning and emotions in covering their songs . She is able to relate and make widely relatable songs in subjects beyond her own experiences to people of all ages , her social and self awareness is off the charts . Grace creates multiple versions of her own songs she inspires people of all ages and she is beyond a joy to witness live , which is one of her strengths . I don't know what's in her waiting to bust out but what ever it is , she feels she as yet to have the full artistic freedom and acceptance as a kid to express it. In other words we haven't seen anything yet .
And the humble thing is she didn't even mention her writing contribution in this song .
Run on guitar solos don't make music great and their lyrics sucked , maybe not Rush.
