Ali offered, but he wanted Foreman to take out Ken Norton first. Norton took on Jimmy Young instead who Ali had already defeated, and Young beat Foreman. Holmes had the same situation with Norton, and Shavers was told to take out Norton to earn a title shot. Shavers defeated Norton by KO, and again, Gerry Cooney KO'd Norton for a title shot.
Had Foreman just taken that Norton bout in 1975, he would have gotten a rematch.

behaviour. But Ali knew how to beat a man. George was
psychologically beaten that time. And at the time, no one loved young George. He was like a big, powerful beast that just knock everyone out and has no emotions. George was sad about this all the time. Everyone wants to be loved. But he came back and loved. And he will be loved forever.
His comeback was one of the most beautiful thing ever can happen a boxer`s legacy. Also Ali showed his superiority as always. He always showed why he was the greatest.

Unfortunately, George was in HULK-MODE this night, and after 40 minutes of a hostile crowd, guys trying to break bad after their fights, and most of all, ALI's taunting, he was good and pissed off FOR REAL by the time of that last fight. George Foreman is the greatest of all time. The case for Ali rests on one fight.
Foreman was Olympic heavyweight champ. Ali Lightheavy. Foreman destroyed Frazier. Twice. Go watch it. Ali scraped two from three. Foreman destroyed Norton. Ali scraped two from three. Foreman stopped the indestructible George Chuvalo. Ali was taken the distance twice. Ali was forcibly retired a broken man. Foreman came back at 45 and won the title back.
The Kinchasa fight is an outlier. Middle of the night, oversized ring, delayed fight, hostile crowd. If he had fought Ali in a phone box in Madison Square Gardens he would have killed him.
