    i'd definitely advocate for you to turn the Hardcore serie into a regular survival serie once you reach 10k days. At that point, I wouldn't consider it cheating us the viewers. This world , i believe, has outgrown the " hardcore " limit. Whenever I watch one of your episodes, I think more of a " Building with Fwip " video, than a "Minecraft Hardcore " video. Please keep Path alive.

      I agree! Because 10k days is so far away, I'd say it'd be a worthwhile thing to ask the General audience on the main channel to get a wider variety of opinions about it if your on the fence or want a different perspective then the avid hard-core viewers who come to watch your comment commentary here on the second channel.

    I personally consider hardcore a negative when watching, as I know that any day it can just end suddenly, throwing all the progress done so far in the bin.
    That being said, I know you personally find it good to be in hardcore as it keeps you motivated. That's the most important thing. It doesn't matter if the world's a normal one if you just don't feel like continuing it, or forcing yourself to do so. A happy fwhip with a well lubricated mind is the best thing for the world.

    5:22 My grandparents had a separate cellar in their garden where they’d store potatoes, onions, apples and such until the next harvest. Perhaps that could add some diversity in the fields as well? 😊

    I have a cool idea for your "to do list". Make 2 shelves of empty bookshelves in your library(or somewhere more convenient). In one put books with ideas for build, in another one transfer your books when you finish that task. That way you can track your accomplishments. I hope i was understood, sry for bad english 😊

    Totems save you from rare instances of death. If you get caught in a death loop situation, you can have a whole inventory of totems and still die. I'm just having fun watching how far you go in this world.

    Hey fWhip, did you ever regret throwing out your first tools of the hardcore world? You mentioned wanting to add history through builds but preserving special items like your eventual first heavy core is another way of creating history. Placing signs with the year I explored or built something is something I also do in my world to signify its age.

    I think totems essentially bridge the gap between hardcore & regular survival. For a long term world such as this one it would be a lot better to make a large biomes world as it would give more space for builds of a grander scale without sacrificing immersion. Would love to see that in the next building with Fwhip S1.

  • @hardyorange
    @hardyorange 24 дні тому +3

    Huge respect to you keeping the world as hardcore because it's what keeps you motivated! For the totem rules, I personally think that there's so much risk involved even in building totem farms and quickly switching out totems if you're continuously popping them in a melee fight that there's no need to add additional rules around using them. Imo the only way they'd feel cheesy in a hardcore world would be if you used them like Scar does in a lot of his Hermitcraft intros, where he'll intentionally hit the ground hard enough to pop the totem while in 2nd person/"facing the camera" view and greeting the audience in time with the shower of totem particles. It might feel a bit cheap to cheat death at the intro to a hardcore episode! Them again, Scar himself has messed this up and died for real in an intro, so maybe it'd still feel risky? Really, the totems do feel the most effective when, exactly as what happened to you, they save you from dying due to a game glitch instead of choices you made that put you in a precarious situation.

  • @jonadabtheunsightly

    The mechanic I want, to make death meaningful, is a mod that randomizes your world spawn location, every time you die (and totems don't prevent this). So you respawn in the absolute middle of nowhere, possibly tens of thousands of blocks from where you died, and you have to pretty much start over, but your original builds are still *there* just, far away. Eventually, you could build nether-ceiling piston-bolt transport to connect to past areas. To make it closer to hardcore, make death also empty your ender chest (and again, totems don't need to prevent this). Totems could still *work* in the sense of saving your life in the moment, but now your world spawn point has moved, so if you go to the End and come back, you're going to be in a new place. Or you could just not use totems.

  • @Raakuth
    @Raakuth 25 днів тому +4

    I think maybe every time you use a totem, you have to put all your stuff away in a box in your base, and start afresh a few thousand blocks out in a new area until you reach a late game stage like having elytra or whatever. Kinda a mix of what sausage and gem are doing with their hardcore worlds and linksy's totem punishment idea. Idk just what came to mind!

  • @BraatBecker

    something that i think is a good idea is if you want to turn it into a normal world, instead of starting a fresh world and loosing everything in this one, fly like 500k blocks out so you're far enough away from spawn that it's basically a new world but still get to keep everything here. can lock away the gear you have so you're really back to square 1

    For the 5 totem limit I would say no, mostly because like the first question, your fan base would literrally ball their eyes out if you lost this world. I know it would be a fun challenge but I don't like creators that are a slave to some sort of rules whether their own or not. Like how you don't have a ton of automatic farms, but you made some nether tree ones to help you with some projects. annnnd if hypothedicly you do die there would proablly be endless regret

    Hi there! I really enjoy your videos and I wanted to share a few suggestions for your next project. In particular, I think it would be interesting to include some ancient buildings that have been destroyed over time, rather than just barns and sheds. These could include libraries, observatories like Baldur's Gate 3, or even a ruined fortress that wasn't rebuilt after a siege. For my own world, I created a large battlefield inspired by the White Orchard from The Witcher 3. Shields, swords, and rotting flesh are all over the place, but I tried to avoid making it too dark. What do you think?

    • @Gosha69_
      @Gosha69_ 25 днів тому

      @@Strawberrypie3167 I'm glad you liked the idea! You can also try to diversify your world by telling some mini stories. For example, I built a large magician's tower, but I didn't like the way it looked, so I decided to tell a story about how the magician tried to control all four elements, but something went wrong and he ended up blowing up the top of the tower (I blew up the top of the tower with TNT). I then decorated it to make it look like the elements had spread out on all sides.
      Also, I played Minecraft with my friends and we used mods. One of the mods was called Cataclysm, which inspired me to build a pyramid in my world. However, when I realized how much work it would take to manually build the pyramid, I decided to take a shortcut and dig a quarry that only half the pyramid was visible, like it had been buried by sand over time and was only recently discovered.

    I just spent 2 weeks in Japan, and the way cities are laid out gives me so much inspiration for how to pack a lot into a small space. I was in the Tokyo area (I actually lived just south of Tokyo for 11 years), and there are little streets going off in every direction, just wide enough for a single car. There's pretty much nothing in the way of front yards, and every open space is used by roads or public spaces. There are a lot of green spaces, too. But I love how they will build up large hills with roads that switch back and forth at times, and houses are built right up against retaining walls with a tiny space behind them. The space between houses is only enough to shuffle sideways through. People have 2 to 3 storey houses, with many having a rooftop patio where they can hang clothes to dry. It's just amazing how they can fill the space. It's giving me a lot of inspiration.

    I think if Minecraft had blocks that would give biome effects like the basalt delta particles that would be really cool and open so many options for builders. Terraria has a lot of monoliths and such that you can trigger to get certain effects in the area and I think it makes so much sense. Like imagine if you could get the mangrove swamp water colour for other places. It's so pretty but it's in such a bad biome for building

    For me with totems I like to set the rule where I store totems at my house, and only keep one totem on my person at a time. That way if I pop a totem, I just have to safely make my way out of that situation and back in order to ‘earn’ another. I also like to keep the totem in my hotbar but not in my offhand, so I have to switch to it to use it (in combat scenarios, I’d hold it if I was elytraing). But I’m not as skilled at the game, so I like the ideas of longer delays or things like that to up the difficulty for better players! I’m definitely not a fan of using the totem to cheese (like killing the warden like you said), but I do like it not really having strict “rules” so you can really adjust it to fit your play-style and abilities

    this would be something i think would have to be done from the early game, but it might be doable.... expecially if you wanted to "earn" the totem back....
    and i feel like this works well with your idea of wanting to build multiple civilizations in the world...
    when you pop a totem, you have to put everything in a chest, and go start over somewhere else, and can't come back until you've got netherite gear again, or something along those lines. you can still use totems in the new location, you'd just have to get them again. and once you're allowed to go back, you now have a second/third/fourth/ civilization that you're building up.

    Hi fWhip, I keep thinking "Wit with fWhip" would be a good title for these comments of the day posts. I looked up the definition to double check I wasn't suggesting something possibly inappropriate. A lot of the description was, what I think, fitting for you. You explain things exceedingly well, grounded and kind, added often with wisdom and humor.
    Wit (noun)
    a. The ability to relate seemingly disparate things so as to illuminate or amuse.
    b. A talent for banter or persiflage.
    c. Clever or apt humor
    d. Astuteness of perception or judgement.
    As for totems, it is impressive you have only popped one! I don't really have an opinion on 'totem cool down time' as I play in Peaceful mostly. I think it comes down to what will keep the individual interested in their own world or playing style. Hope you have a good day!

    FWhip you should make the shire from the hobbit. I think it would be super cool and fit your theme really well.

    In the past potatos, beets and carrots are stored in a root cellar under the farmhouse.

    The totem cooldown is great idea because totem is op (also from 1.21 it is hurder to create raid farm)

    maybe a totem rule where you can only have 1 totem at the time and regaining it 1 by beating a lvl 5 raid.

    Could you solve the carrot/potatoes storage with root cellars? So the storage matches the resources.

    I dread the day that this entire world will cease to exist. Hard-core is awesome and all, but at that big of a cost?

    Memento Mori. One day, you must eventually die. It's not morbid to simply accept that it will happen and that no matter how careful you are, it has to end someday, and to make the most of the time you've got. You're just taking that principle and applying to the game.

    Hi, im italian and love your building style and your hardcore series , i've 2 questions why don't build another tree but in the nether as the other two dimension and why don't build an italian style city like SMP? Sorry for the mistakes in the sentence😅
