Too cool. I found this looking for kydex for 10" cimitar. Very helpful. I think i would make a belt hook out of the side closest to the one wearing it. In the butcher shop we have those white plastic sheaths that hold 2 or 3 knives. But they have a part that extends to the end of the handle so that way you dont accidently stick yourself wile resheathing. I think my best hook will serve the same purpose.
Great job on the sheath. My comment is not on the sheath but on the Victorinox butcher knife. I bought one years ago thinking that as a butcher knife it would be a strong and robust knife. The first and only time I used it - it failed. I was to trim a 6-foot shrub with branches that were only about 1/2 inch thick. First whack and the blade got stuck. I was able to pull it out but part of the blade remained in the branch and the balde edge now has a half-moon nick in it (in the shape of the branch radius). Never used it again. So, I had a local smith build me a "real" knife (made from car's flat suspension spring) and have been using it for 20 years clearing/trimming TREES some are 8-10 inches in diameter. It sometimes even cuts with a "zing" sound.
I have used one for years at work I chop Mellon's all day it is far superior to any machete you will find out there I have tested many but would never try and do yard work with kitchen knives they have a higher carbon content in the steel to hold a sharp edge for long time this makes them brittle and shouldn't be treated like a sword or a throwing knife you need spring steel for that if you have to chop all day the Victorinox is the best it's about blade weight V's sharpness balanced with hand grip ergonomics even durability very rust resistant also just take it to your knife guy for restoration and use it in the kitchen it's very good to have handy you would of had good results using a cheap stainless steel kitchen knife for yard work not a professional chef knife like Victorinox.

Thanks for your feedback :-)
Nothing is better than spring steel when it come to durability and cost. Thanks for sharing.
It's for cutting meat, you're not too bright are you?

So you did not even have to heat up the kydex sheets to form it? Just foam press is enough?
You have got to be joking........
Gorgeous. You're very well set up!
