    What a beautiful painting Shana. What a wonderful woman/artist to have been so passionate about our environment she was willing to go out on a limb financially on behalf of us all. Your review was extremely fair, given that in the technical sense these paints are not acrylics, hence I suppose the different spelling of the product. It is a huge testament to your skill that you overcame the difference in the consistency and feel to produce what is a wonderful testament to these paints. I wish them much luck in their endeavour. I don’t use acrylics, but that doesn’t prevent me from being very grateful, on behalf of our planet, for the existence of this company! Thank you for the time you take to educate. 👩🏻‍🎨🖌️🎨🙂🙂

    Thank you for this one, Shana. I had NO idea that acrylics were toxic too (other than the obvious heavy metals). Great piece also!

      You're welcome! I didn't know the extent to which they could be toxic either. Once I found out, I knew I had to share! Thanks for watching!

    They should send their entire range out to you because you worked these paints so beautifully. And their packaging is very attractive too... making me question if I'd like to try some myself!

    Thanks for this! Toxicity of art supplies is something I look for when buying products. I work with watercolor and gouache paints that are vegan and free of heavy metals. I have been interested in the thicker acrylic paints because I like the idea of layering paint and it is more difficult to do with watercolors or gouache and not rewet the layers underneath. I have avoided acrylics because they are "plastic". So, I am delighted to learn about this company, that it's woman owned, and located in my home state! So I'm buying local, as well! I also like M. Graham's honey based watercolors--not vegan, but wow!. They are also made in my home state. Being able to buy high quality, nontoxic artist's supplies that are manufactured locally and in this instance by a woman-run company just checks all the boxes for me! Thanks again for sharing and test rating this product. I only came across your channel in my feed yesterday, and today, I found this post!

      That's such serendipitous timing! Sounds like these paints check all the right boxes for you! I also love that it's women owned, and in the U.S. It's neat that you are right in the same state! I hope that these paints work out for you! They have a ton of other fun products, too!

    What a beautiful silky painting, so smooth and vibrant💕😮! This set looks awesome; eco-friendly and dry to a satin finish, I need those lol! I fully learned about the toxicity/environmental damage of acrylics and other paints in the past 5 years, and knew I wasn't trippin, when I'd tell my momma my acrylics/watercolors smell deadly😲 I think ammonia is what I often smell, burns my nose and makes me weak; wow, everything came full circle when you mentioned the strong chemical additives in some acrylics; some of my paints smell crazy as they age, especially really cheap brands.

      Thank you! Yeah, I never realized how many chemicals were in them! Sounds like you are sensitive to chemicals, which isn't a bad thing because you are obviously able to sense things that others can't! These paints may be a good fit for you!

Lol I believe I am sensitive to most chemicals, and they tear my sinuses/allergies up, and thank you I never thought of it as a gift💕😂 I agree, once I clear out my prior acrylics like yourself, I'm going to invest in these paints, can't wait!

    I paint a lot with acrylic paint, and I react badly to the fumes (same with house paint). My "studio" is currently in my living room, and my air purifier is an absolut must! If you ever notice that you get dizzy or feel a bit unwell after painting, I really recommend it. I wouldn't be able to paint with acrylics, or even paint the walls in my home, without mine.

    Interesting about the cold. I am in Australia and it is summer here and had some issues with some products too. I was wondering the other way, where products had dried up and I was thinking of the heat.
    I kind of think that Acrylics are worse than Oils because they are plastics versus oils that are actually using neutral ingredients. Oils get a really bad wrap, but mostly because of things people add to the paints and not the modern day paints themselves (which have cut back on the toxic pigments). I feel like a parent would freak more if a kid ate some oil paint than acrylics, when acrylics can have a lot of horrible unknown stuff in them.

    • @CautionArtistatPlay
      @CautionArtistatPlay  4 місяці тому +1

      Yeah, I could see heat being a factor, too!
      I agree about the oil paints vs. acrylics. In fact, when I was in college, we weren't allowed to use oil paints, even without solvents, in our classes, but we were allowed to use acrylics. So, the oil vs. acrylic safety debate definitely runs deep.

    I have been so interested in trying these paints for mixed media work.
    The reason I haven't used acrylic paints yet is for environmental reasons (the plastic & the clean up.) What does cleaning your brushes and paint water entail with these paints?

    • @CautionArtistatPlay
      @CautionArtistatPlay  2 місяці тому +1

      Hi there! These rinse easily with water. They are made with all natural, plant-based ingredients and are supposed to be very earth friendly, so I don't believe they are supposed to have any environmental impact when it comes to cleaning brushes. That being said, since they mimic regular acrylics when it comes to durability and take a long time to break down (they will eventually break down) you may want to be mindful of putting them down the drain. That is the impression that I got when I was first researching them. That being said, the company is really open to communicating with artists, so don't just take my word for it, I wouldn't want to give you any wrong information. I have a few links in the description that have some more information on them. They also have a place on their website where you can contact them and get more specific information. So feel free to reach out to them! Thanks for watching!

      From what I read on their site, they came up with a formulation comprised of plant-based resins. I think I read that they still have the patent pending, so they haven't publicly shared the exact formulation.

      This is important information. I’m also curious about the binder. Not a lot of transparency with this patent. Maybe I’ll wait a little while until it’s figured out and stick with what’s been around already.
