Okay, so, best way to describe it: magazines retain ammo in a place where it’s ready to be fed into the chamber, meanwhile clips simply hold ammo and need to be loaded into a magazine. Best example of this is detachable magazines already hold ammo in them, and can be relatively easily swapped out, but internal magazines are fixed in the gun and require clips of ammo to be fed into it (usually from the top of the gun). The action of the gun doesn’t have any bearing on this… because sure, you mostly see automatic-action weapons (semi/burst/full auto) use detachable, pre-loaded magazines and manual-action ones (pump/lever/bolt action) use internal, manually-loaded magazines [expedited by clips] - but this isn’t always the case. The AK platform of rifles use detachable magazines, but the SKS rifle uses internal ones. The Henry family of lever-action rifles have an internal tube magazine, meanwhile the Mossberg 590M pump-action shotgun takes detachable magazines. A fun one people may be confused by is the M1 Garand, since most of the time with internal-magazine guns the clip isn’t necessary to load, nor does loading via clip require the clip be pushed into the gun (because remember, the clip usually only stores ammo before it’s loaded), however the En-Bloc clip of the M1 Garand needs to be inserted into the gun. It also will not function if the clip isn’t loaded to 8 rounds, likely due to a curse placed on the weapon.
About the dog with cat software. I have a cat that full on was taught how to dog. He'll sit for food, play fetch, loves belly rubs, and wags his tail like a dog
I'll say this about the secret boss, there's not really any hints or much indication as to his location, but there's no blueprints, unlocks, or resources tied to him or his area
Hey Wander, if you kill the final bosses in one of the hard zones, they drop more of their material. Also, you need to build a money gun and a resource farming gun for your drone.
Here's a tip, the instant reload on the ammo belt becomes permanent so you can tank your reload speed on other parts as much as you want, it'll still be instant
Personally I feel that after you made a super strong gun build and then hand it over to your drone that there should be a limit to the number of runs that you can do before the weapon breaks. That way it incentivise to cycle the guns on your drone more and get carried less by your drone.
@joshuadrinkwater4391 that's a problem with all busted build games as soon as one finds a strong build, some people milk it dry other try other things.
@@JointSide true, but I feel like having a good drone allows me to get new/more interesting builds online, without it I’d just die beforehand. I genuinely believe having a good drone improves my run diversity
1:25:06 on the screen at the end of the rum, there is the line "special damage ratio". the fire damage plus underbarrel was only 7% of the total damage. (google translate)
The most interesting stat there is the underbarrel recharge rate in my opinion: There are the ones that recharge based on something happening, which is turret you start with getting 2 per level up to deploy, meaning a very limited supply, only countered by how short the game length is, but countered by having bad build options on you and the gun you put on the drone(and how much stats on drone gun affect you, if they do at all). Then there is the bayonet which starts at you get a new swing every 60 kills, which is a very nice round number for later on in this breakdown. Then finally there is the grenade launcher, which reloads 1 per reload of actual gun, making small magazine weapons have a better time with it, but the rifles still empty themselves fast enough to be practical. And then there are the 2 that are purely time based recharges, the flame thrower which refills entirely at once after a moderate length of time; and the energy bolt, which recharges per bolt. This gets into my questioning of how exactly does UBR affect the first group, where as bayonet seems a pretty simple reduce how many kills to refill a swing, at what point does UBR make you get more than 2 turrets, I seem to manage to reach a point where I get 3, but that seems inconsistent as well, and does having a near 200% UBR make you reload 2 grenades per reload? I also wonder if charms actually work when the gun they got attached to is given to the drone. Would giving it a gun with a kiwi charm make it speed up its' own leveling, does the goldenheart charm work at all if given to a drone, does the charms that increase damage per kill actually account for the drone, and you with the second tier of that one when on a drone. lot's of interesting things to look into whenever a new rougelite shows up.
There aren't to my knowledge any kind of automatically fed rocket or missle systems save for automatic reloading on ship-borne missle launchers, but there are recoilless autoguns; those don't feed from clips or magazines usually, they usually feed from hoppers with feed systems.
Unwanted game information is the mind killer. The older I've gotten the more I've realized that researching shortcuts or optimization greatly reduce the enjoyable lifespan of a game. It's tough because that type of engagement scratches a certain itch of enjoying the game you're interested in. The odd thing is that watching content like yours seems like a more acceptable exchange - and I definitely am drawn towards watching games being played that I'll never touch myself.

3:20 In the demo, this was my fav build. Intentionally tanking my mag size to 1 on the RPG and just boost reload speed as high as it could go. Add in the grenade launcher and last round damage boost. It was insane. Unfortunately I have not been able to replicate it fully in the full game. Better mag mod for that build would have been explosive or splitter. It is tough to get your mag size that low and you need almost a perfect build to get your mag size to 1. You can dump stat fire rate with no ill effect with that build. Also, containment field is just bad imo. If you want a saftey ring, the dissuasive barrel is great because you can at least aim the bullets spinning around you to hit a specific target.
if you think about it, 1 round rpg with grenade launcher and helix barrel would be insane, Every shot would trigger the grenade launcher and every time you shoot the grenade launcher your projectiles get doubled from the helix barrel (atleast the upgraded one). I usually mixed helix with the laser attatchment but this would be 10.000x better.
@@DantalionNL1 I finally got it to work in the full game. It took Gang Gang's Gat and Sawed-Off Magazines to get down to 1 shot per magazine. Combined with the Orbital Dissuasion barrel it just destroyed everything and gave me a ring that nothing could get past, plus I had Split Magazine so like 7 rockets spawned every time I hit an enemy. Everythink just exploded. Definately a fun build.
I will note that Lost Odyssey, while being almost entirely a Final Fantasy clone, permits status effect builds to be absolutely devastating. To the point where some bosses are unapproachable if you can't debuff them to hell.

The hive parts have different spawn times for the non hive parts of the map so an example would be; Spawn near hive barrens trigger the 4:17 boss in the non hive part, Kill it quickly, then move into the hive part before it hits the 5 minute mark and it'll spawn the boss again. If you wanna do this in harder parts I'd suggest taking Thornridge basin spawn (rather close to a area transition from non-hive to hive).

You’re in the right biome TYPE but wrong location I believe. The hint I would give is if you pause the game at exactly 1:07:41 and look at your mini map, there is a certain type of rock formation at the bottom left. You’re looking for that type of rock formation, pointing up and right (as seen) but not that one. The second hint I would give is look for a square…
Your comments in the first run are getting to one of my biggest annoyances playing this game. By the time I was clearing runs I needed to spend more time in the Hive areas to find missing blueprints but for whatever reason the devs decided that far far far more of the unlocks would require Malphor drops than Titannus and I don't understand it.
I had the same issue, Needed a lot of honeycombs so went with farm builds to the hive lands only to be cornered and forced to fight Titannus instead of being able to run to the non hive area and trigger Malphor. Now with a little more map knowledge, it's not that big of an issue anymore.

You can definitely short-load an M1 Garand. It’s not ideal, but definitely doable. Source: I own one.
@ Do not do that. It’s not intended to be short-loaded, and you may have misfires, or you might damage the weapon.

You mentioned NSEW, more content can be found in the North. Thanks for uploading these, I really enjoy your NIMRODS content.
The sword seems better for manual aim so you can sweep it across enemies rather than the snapping of auto aim

I feel like that all I would do if that was implemented is just remake the drone gun afterwards. I’d end up just treating it as a chore.

Fire damage (and all blue number damage) scales off of Special Power. If you wanted fire to be better you stack special power.
52:48 that is the most cat person not dog person thing you could ever say
I will note that Lost Odyssey, while being almost entirely a Final Fantasy clone, permits status effect builds to be absolutely devastating. To the point where some bosses are unapproachable if you can't debuff them to hell.
I think resource bonus affects the final boss drops. I got 5 of the special material from a single run yesterday.
It would be cool to be able to right click on the big map and place a way point for the general place you are trying to head to
The only dog that has ever bitten me was a golden retriever and I've been around dogs all my life.
I'm breaking your dream, sorry wander

Always love the podcasts about the cat dog!
You *can* get extra boss drops with enough Resource Bonus, but I'm not sure how much you need
the addon with instant reload make you fire on the spot non stop with max firing speed
1:08:05 status effect duration should help with keeping on fire and I think I saw an option on queen betty's loot for on fire upgrade
In that case, do you like Siberian husky
33:10 probably better if they say you have a lot more to look forward to right?
1:17:03 Ummmm...second Charrger? Did not know it was possible to fight two chargers in one run
Dog running cat OS. Normally we'd call that a fox.
Nice 👍
You can go both bosses even with mini bosses just change biom right after they spawn in
I didn't know you could get a boss twice in the same run.🤔(Maybe I was just not paying enough attention?)

so hypothetically ripper clips should just increase reload speed?
with on fire showing damage in blue does that mean that the damage is special effect damage?
It should, all blue damage is special damage
I will say this about the secret area, it is not in any area you searched today, I believe.
