Tears running down my face as the Spirit bears witness of the truths taught here!! Thank you both and NEVER worry about running over time! We will listen as long as y'all will talk!!!
Hanna I had the chance to meet you in 2019. And I remember you being one of the most sweet Spirits I have ever seen since my convertion about 20 years ago!
When I first heard that Joseph Smith was coming back, I was astonished. That's so exciting! But this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who read D&C 27 which talks about Joseph and other prophets being resurrected for the great sacrament/priesthood meeting at Adam Ondi Aman with Jesus. And this happens way before the end of the world.
All these truths come from a simple study of the scriptures! Thank you for another great discussion. Prayers for James Stoddard to continue getting better!
I loved this discussion!❤️I could listen to Hannah’s insights for hours. And Rod, you are great , too😉 I am looking forward to studying these sections this week and am grateful to have heard this presentation prior to my personal study❤️
This was a wonderful discussion! Zion is going to be established, and we'll be the people to do it, if we bear and endure our tribulations well that we may be worthy for the Glory of Zion! And Joseph will be there to dictate the plans and fulfill his prophetic mission. Exciting times ahead!
I am bothered about Hannah's input on her father praying and his answer to the book, "Visions of Glory". My spirit fell in love with your (Rod Meldrum) research, and podcasts on the scriptures (where the heartland is) and life of Joseph Smith, because it is presented as your humble understanding. An I feel the desire to gain my own knowledge and testimony through the guidance of the Holy Ghost. When Hannah proclaims the Ghospel of Jesus Christ then adds a "personal revelation" of her father's. I am overwhelmed and wonder if I should question my own testimony if I have received a different revelation.
Your take on Wheat & Tares is great! Check my thinking: The Wheat is harvested at the last day. Only the grain (fruit) are preserved (exalted). The Stalks of both W&T are left in the ground to be burned. So... The underlying meaning is that in this burning all things rooted to the world are destroyed. Your roots, heritage, or other worldly ties, are all gone, leaving only the fruit (your faithfulness and priesthood ordinances) in the harvest.
The One Mighty and Strong is simply a Presiding Bishop. Wow! Joseph Smith is a direct decendant of Jesus Christ and Mary and maybe Martha were Christ's wives. This is mind-blowing.
I always thought the mighty and strong one would be john the beloved the revelator and the 3 Nephites his counselor. but a person from the presiding bishopric makes sense because He comes up through the ranks and will automatically not need to prove himself.
Fully ripe to me means that once we have received the fullness, everything that was taken away or that we weren't ready to live or accept, so was taken away for our good so we were judged against it. I believe it could mean when we get every principle of the gospel back, lost 116 pages etc. Once we have that fullness I believe then we are fully ripe. Ready for the sifting to begin. I could be wrong. But that's how I interpret it
Interesting take on the one mighty and strong. Although you didn't explicitly mention it, I never thought that the one mighty and strong might be Joseph himself, although I have believed from some of the things I've read that he would he returning at some point. I've just never thought about it in those terms. Just a quick mention: It is my belief that those who fell asleep mentioned in D&C 86:3 were the apostles, meaning that after the apostles died, then did Satan sow the tares, as the apostles were no longer around to write epistles, etc., to correct the lies. At least it makes more sense to me. I also realize that even while the apostles were alive, Satan indeed sowed tares, but they were still around to refute the lies, and we have Paul's letters to support that idea. It's not like a big deal, but those were the thoughts that came to me as you were talking about it. And thank you for touching on Jesus' first miracle, Mary and Martha, etc. Perfect. I covered this, although not as eloquently, in a series of blogs on whether or not Jesus was married. It's wonderful to hear someone talking about it who has more knowledge than I do of the Hebrew traditions. And thanks for clarifying what Joseph mentioned about America in the context of his revelations and writings. It also fits in with a prophecy (not sure from whom) that declares that there will be those from south of the American border who will travel up north to build up Zion, or the City of New Jerusalem, and if we are worthy, we will be allowed to go and help them. Do you have anything to say about this, as my memory isn't 100% these days? Here's something to think about. You quoted Isaiah referring to the mountain of the Lord's house being established in the tops of the mountains in the last days. You, along with pretty much everyone else in the Church, equates this as being SLC, where there is, indeed, a house of the Lord. But it is NOT in the center of America. AND . . . and all nations are not flowing to it, save as members of the Church have come there, and there are a lot of members now leaving the area to points elsewhere, most often, I think, to Missouri. At least, we're seeing a lot of them coming in from Utah and Arizona here. And certainly people are not saying, "Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem." (Isaiah 2:2-3.) This is a clear reference to Zion, the New Jerusalem and not SLC. And besides, at least not that I have heard, all nations have not come pouring into SLC to learn of the Lord, etc. While an occasional big wig from another country representing a nation or two may drop and visit the prophet in SLC, it is not to learn of the Lord. The final reference, which you quoted, references Zion being the source of the law of God. This certainly cannot therefore refer to SLC, as the whole of the verses 1-3 are referencing the mountain of the Lord's house as being IN New Jerusalem not SLC. But it's so convenient to separate verses 1-3, thinking the first verses refer to SLC and the latter to the New Jerusalem. But Isaiah is NOT speaking of two different places; he is speak in all verses of the same place-Zion, or the New Jerusalem. Here's another thing to think about. We tend to think today, thanks to the ideas of geologists, that the way things are have pretty much been the way things were and always will be be, geologically speaking, change only occurring by inches. But we know this is not necessarily true, seeing as how the entire face of the land was changed after the crucifixion of Jesus, and it happened (I think) in three days. We don't know that the same thing will not occur to establish the New Jerusalem in the tops of the mountains somewhere in the future. There is what is known as the New Madrid Fault in the area, and other fault zones, I'm sure. If it went off big time, even greater than it did in 1811-1812, it could surely change the face of the land. If I'm remembering correctly, it even caused the Mississippi river to flow backwards and indeed even changed its course in some areas. There could be mountains where there are now hills and vales. Here is an interesting article about the possibility of the New Madrid Fault someday moving around: news.stanford.edu/pr/00/newmadrid104.html. God moves in mysterious ways and things are not always they way they appear. On a side note, nothing to do with the issue at hand, I noticed that you have a copy of "The Hollow Earth" in your library. Have you ever related your feelings on that idea somewhere on the internet? I'd love to hear it, if you have. I found this vidcast through Hannah's Joseph Smith Foundation and have subscribed to your vidcast.
Very interesting discussion. By the way, if the mighty and strong is a presiding bishop, he might be a direct descendant of Aaron (if I’m not mistaken), as such a calling is for the sons of Aaron. Otherwise, anyone worthy can be called if a direct descendant of Aaron can’t be found. But I know the Lord can find a direct descendant of Aaron. Tuesday ngt - August 10, 2021.
where can I find that quote you mention about 1:04 mark ... Hannah says Joseph Smith said "When the Holy Ghost falls on a pure gentile that doesn't have the blood of Israel"- it literally has to change their blood' where is that referenced. I can't find it
Hi Katherine, Here is the full statement by the Prophet: The time has at last arrived when the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has set his hand again the second time to recover the remnants of his people, which have been left from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea, and with them to bring in the fulness of the Gentiles, and establish that covenant with them, which was promised when their sins should be taken away. See Isaiah 11; Romans 11:25, 26 and 27, and also Jeremiah 31:31, 32 and 33. This covenant has never been established with the house of Israel, nor with the house of Judah, for it requires two parties to make a covenant, and those two parties must be agreed, or no covenant can be made. Christ, in the days of His flesh, proposed to make a covenant with them, but they rejected Him and His proposals, and in consequence thereof, they were broken off, and no covenant was made with them at that time. But their unbelief has not rendered the promise of God of none effect: no, for there was another day limited in David, which was the day of His power; and then His people, Israel, should be a willing people;-and He would write His law in their hearts, and print it in their thoughts; their sins and their iniquities He would remember no more. There are two Comforters spoken of. One is the Holy Ghost, the same as given on the day of Pentecost, and that all Saints receive after faith, repentance, and baptism. This first Comforter or Holy Ghost has no other effect than pure intelligence. It is more powerful in expanding the mind, enlightening the understanding, and storing the intellect with present knowledge, of a man who is of the literal seed of Abraham, than one that is a Gentile, though it may not have half as much visible effect upon the body; for as the Holy Ghost falls upon one of the literal seed of Abraham, it is calm and serene; and his whole soul and body are only exercised by the pure spirit of intelligence; while the effect of the Holy Ghost upon a Gentile, is to purge out the old blood, and make him actually of the seed of Abraham. That man that has none of the blood of Abraham (naturally) must have a new creation by the Holy Ghost. In such a case, there may be more of a powerful effect upon the body, and visible to the eye, than upon an Israelite, while the Israelite at first might be far before the Gentile in pure intelligence. (Joseph Smith, History, 1838-1856, volume C-1 [2 November 1838-31 July 1842], see also Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith p. 149-150)
The one mighty and strong, sounds a lot like the story of Nimrod. Nimrod was trying to build up the Kingdom of God and had Good intentions but in the end he was overcome by pride. His motives then became selfish and what he had built up was for his gain. I liked the comment on steadying the ark. Our job is not to teach theory in place doctrine. Lord does not need us to lead the church with certain matters. He has a prophet for that.
"While that man, who was called of God and appointed, that putteth forth his hand to steady the ark of God, shall fall by the shaft of death, like as a tree that is smitten by the vivid shaft of lightning." (D&C 85:8) President Kimball said at President Lee’s funeral: “A giant redwood has fallen and left a great space in the forest." President Lee is the 2nd shortest lived President of the Church (Joseph Smith, Jr. is the shortest lived).
Im intrigued at the idea of Joseph Smith and Brigham young being literal heirs to the House of David " in the flesh" but wouldn't that contradict what Joseph said about his being a pure ephriamite???
Brigham Young made the statement that Joseph Smith was a pure Ephraimite, but he and others also taught that Joseph Smith and others of the early brethren were descendants of Jesus Christ and the original twelve. (Email me for the sources) The context of Brigham Young's quote denotes that the Lord watched over each marriage from the dawn of time so that Joseph Smith would have the perfect lineage to perform his mission. The term "pure Ephraimite" seems to be speaking more of the fact that the Prophet descended from the royal house, he had the legal rights to the House of Ephraim purely from Joseph of Egypt to Ephraim and hence from father to son. He held the rights to the priesthood, as well as the political/theocracy rights by blood. There are also scriptural indications that Joseph Smith descended from Levi, as well as children of Joseph of Egypt (besides Ephraim and Manasseh) that are not mentioned in the Biblical text but are spoken of in the JST (See JST Genesis 48). This is why it is important to differentiate between the House of Ephraim, the House of Manasseh and the House of Joseph. Fascinating topics to study!
@@ItsAboutJoy We need you to become a UA-camr and put out lots of wonderful videos! Think about it, you'd reach a TON of people with that fascinating knowledge if you had your own channel. Just record yourself speaking, you're so good at it. The message would spread like fire.
Here is the Testimony of John the Baptist that he was Jesus Groomsman at Jesus wedding at Cana - & who other would Jesus have as a "Bestman at his Wedding than his own cousin of who Jesus said there was no greater Prophet This following verse is in John chapter 3: 29. & this is after the wedding that took place in Cana. The Bridegroom was & is Christ 29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy, therefore, is fulfilled."
So Joseph smith jr is now an angle. Like other angels that had received priesthood assignments they don’t have the ability to exercise there priesthood powers on earth. Elijah was able to transfer his keys but he was not able to use his priesthood directly. So if Joseph smith jr was able to use his priesthood it would be a violation of his priesthood keys. I would like to help you stay within the gaurd rails but what I see is what you teach requires revelation from the church president and no other because it affects the whole church.
It's interesting that you discount anyone else proclaiming things that J.S. did, yet you totally accept it from him. I don't necessarily believe any of their proclamations, yet it's interesting that you accept his w/o question. It's my hope that you are correct & his is the one that does matter, but as you say many are trying to "change" the history . . . . um church historians have also changed the history & only present the prettiest package w/o telling the whole truth. Even things in J.S. journal have been crossed out & changed. Who did that? B.Y.? It's suspected as much. It's entirely all too possible, regretfully, that we've all been deceived in various ways for a long time. You may want to consider applying all the words you say about others to J.S. & do your "uncomfortable" laugh toward him too. It's very unbecoming, your laugh towards others who have said similar things. The mocking of it is inappropriate.
**Luke 16** 13 No [Latter-day Saint] can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon [economic exchange of the world] 14 And the [priesrcrafter] also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him [Jesus]. 15 And he said unto them [Saints of God],*** Ye are they who justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God. *** 16 👉 And they said unto him, ***We have the law and the prophets***; but as for this man, we will not receive him to be our ruler; for he maketh himself to be a judge over us. 👈 17 Then said Jesus unto them, The law and the prophets testify of me; yea, and all the prophets who have written, even [Joseph Smith], have foretold of these days. 18 Since that time, the kingdom of God is preached, and every man who seeketh truth presseth into it. 19 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than for one tittle of the law to fail. 20 And why teach ye the law [of the consecration], and deny that which is written, and condeem [the humble follower of Christ] whom the Father hath sent to [teach] the law, that ye might all be redeemed? 21 O [foolish LDS priestcrafters]! for you have said in your hearts, There is no God. And you pervert the right way; and the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence of you; and you persecute the meek; and in your violence you seek to destroy the kingdom; and ye [tares], take the children of the kingdom by force. Woe unto you, ye adulterers
Thank you for this. I have recognized the issues in the church and wanted solutions. God is in charge. This is his church and he will set it in order.

Your take on Wheat & Tares is great! Check my thinking:
The Wheat is harvested at the last day.
Thank you so much for this!!!! Goes with everything I’ve been learning and have come to feel is right. 🙌
Amen to this!! I wanted another hour as well 😀
Hannah is solid... Simple as that
Great discussion as per usual. Thank you Hannah & Rod.
This is so profound message of the covenant people of GOD.

The Bridegroom was & is Christ
29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy, therefore, is fulfilled."

No rock in a hat. No CRT. Can't recognize BYU anymore.
**Luke 16**
13 No [Latter-day Saint] can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon [economic exchange of the world]
14 And the [priesrcrafter] also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him [Jesus].
15 And he said unto them [Saints of God],*** Ye are they who justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.
***
16 👉 And they said unto him, ***We have the law and the prophets***; but as for this man, we will not receive him to be our ruler; for he maketh himself to be a judge over us. 👈
17 Then said Jesus unto them, The law and the prophets testify of me; yea, and all the prophets who have written, even [Joseph Smith], have foretold of these days.
We don't believe we fall into any of these categories. But it's easy to falsely accuse.
