Tips I found with parts I was struggling on:
7:56 for scaling: use 's' to scale and follow it with 'SHIFT + Z' to scale everything but the Z axis
8:49 for mirroring: make sure to use the dropper icon in the 'mirror object' box and select the bottom half of the chair to evenly mirror the legs

thanks for this tutorial, i made the same model but when i try to render it with cycles, i see the wireframe visible on the seat part, and sides of the cair also dont look great, with evee its perfect.

Recently I reinstalled blender with the new version but I cannot see the sub surf. modifier when not applied. It just becomes a see-through box or invisible. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Just found it I think, in blender preferences, go to input, and turn on "emulate 3 button mouse" (then double clicking like he does at :38 will select what he is selecting.
