I really appreciate how you acknowledge that you're blessed to be able to quit your day job! I feel like so many UA-camrs make videos about pursuing their own business already have the means to but don't acknowledge that enough
@LogicalSchizoid_INTP than why does she and so many people on UA-cam make enough money off of it to live life? It may not be a traditional job but it's still a job.
This must be the month of quitting your job. I quit yesterday because I was very unhappy so I understand how your bf feel because it is scary but we to go for him.
Literally me at 26. I have transitioned into 5 different careers this year. Lol I worked in marketing , at a university, corporate America, tech, and now the fed government! (3 of the jobs I been at for more then a year or worked at same time) 2019, is literally the year of figuring shit! I realized a job is a job. If Im not happy then I can get another job until I can figure out what I want to do with my life.
This is the most satisfying video I’ve ever seen. This is what I aspire to do some day and I hope I feel as liberated as you seem! Good luck with all your future endeavors I can’t wait to see your future content now that the cuffs are off.
I'm significantly older than you and I'm saying you 100% did the right thing. Life is way to short to not chase your dreams. I'm living my life through you!
As someone who also used to work in tech sales, I completely get this! I quit after a few months too and I felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders. I dreaded cold calling and had super terrible anxiety from it. Super proud of you for doing what you felt was best for yourself!
So happy you figured it out early!! I'm 53. You got this girl. Time is on your side. Hugs. Love. Enjoy the Fall now !!! Spend lots of time outside. Damn I'm happy for you . Yipeeeeeee
So proud of you!! I quit my first “corporate job” a few months ago and I still feel sooo relieved! Best decision ever!! Best of luck to you Brooke. You’ll kill it :)
You seem SO much happier - when you came out after quitting, it's like a huge weight was lifted from your shoulders! It pays to make decisions in your life that serve YOU and YOUR happiness! :)
Brooke you are an amazing person and I congratulate you for putting yourself first, not everyone can do that. Prioritising your mental and physical health is very important. Hope your doing well and can start feeling better. Love you xx
so proud of you Brooke. travel, spend sometime abroad, do stuff that you’re passionate about. Not many people are brave enough to leave their first job. Can’t wait to see what you do next. 💓
As a senior in college this video is so refreshing!! I am terrified to get stuck in a job I hate and im not happy in. The past month this reality has hit me hard. Seeing you (someone I look up to) follow your gut has helped settle those nerves!! no matter what, you are doing something that will make you happy!! good luck!!
Brooke, I had to do cold calls for the entirety of my 8 month long internship, and it was soul crushing. I absolutely hated it, so I can feel where you are coming from. I am SO happy that you did what was best for you no matter how hard it is. You’ve got serious guts, and I admire it! I can’t wait to see where your content goes in the coming months. I’ll be here cheering you on! ❤️
i remember being your shoes last year. my first full time job after graduating college. i stuck around my job for 4 months. i loved it but at the same time i didnt. like u the work requirements and other stuff just was not for me. It was a very overwhelming experience a bit... but i knew it was the right decision. For some reason i knew leaving was right for me and i found another job 1 1/2 month later and now i love my current job. everything happens for a reason. AND ITS GOOD TO DO THIS WHILE YOU'RE YOUNG. i'm proud of your decision especially bc you followed your gut and signs. I know you'll be just fine.
THIS IS THE MOST RELATABLE THING EVER !!! I watched this video and listened to your podcast. I know you said a lot of people were leaving because you were “weren’t relatable anymore” but this is honest to god the most relatable thing. It’s sooo beyond refreshing and good to hear that even someone who “looks like they have it all” is struggling and that we aren’t alone. Hearing you say you didn’t have it figured out at 22, just made me do a huge sigh of relief that at almost 21 I too don’t have my life figured out. We’re all on our own path and our own journey. Thank you for sharing this with us Brooke !! Love you and good luck with everything to come, rooting for you 💗💗
This was literally me last year!!! Honestly that job gave me so much anxiety everyday I hated everything about it 😭 it literally felt like a weight got lifted off my shoulders when I left. I’m so proud of you Brooke!!!
i think its a great idea not to have a "two weeks notice" norm- here's the thing, if someone quits, there is weird energy for the most part-who wants that person there working for two weeks after that?! I know sometimes its necessary but its annoying
i think the weird energy depends on why you are leaving. I put in my 2 weeks at the end of the summer with a company I was at for a year and just explained to them I was leaving based off a personal decision and to continue my education. the last 2 weeks were really nice and they brought in vegan cupcakes and muffins and ordered in lunch for everyone on my last day!
I think most people have responsibilities and projects to wrap up before they quit. It would be immature and unprofessional to dump that work on your already tasked coworkers. I quit my job to go to medical school and my coworkers and boss were so happy for me and they threw me a going away party.
I agree! I just gave my last job THREE DAYS notice before leaving. I've always done the two week thing at other jobs to be professional but I was so unhappy there, my boss was such a jerk, and I already had another job.
@@thecatladyyy Agreed! Our bosses literally send us job postings because they know that not many of us will stay in our current roles. They understand the need for growth and change.
This is my favorite finale to any show I’ve ever watched. So proud of you for following your heart and doing what’s best! Can’t wait for more content now being a full time youtuber!! You go girl!!! 🥰
Yay Brooke!!! I’m so proud of you! I only came across your vlogs recently but I could immediately tell (and relate) that the job wasn’t a good fit for you. And now I’m so glad you’re taking the courageous steps to be self-employed, listening to your heart!!! Really awesome!
Thank you for sharing this vulnerable moment! You’re so amazing and I am so confident that you are chasing your dreams. Stay positive and confident in your decision and go chase the world girl!
I literally am in the same boat! I'm 22 and I started a job in June and I am handing in my resignation today because it just wasn't a good fit. I was always taught to never stay in a place that I didn't feel 100 percent comfortable in. I totally get it girl! You do you!
On Monday I also quit from my internship after 4 months because I realized that this is not what I want to do after graduation. So now I'm focusing on school and I am trying to figure what I want to do. You are such an inspiration to me.
yes Brooke follow the signs, they are trying to guide you on a path since you asked for them to be shown to you. Don't doubt them and watch everything unfold exactly as it should :) Once I did my life little by little started to make wayyyy more sense and the clarity I gained is unmatched.
As someone who just started a job about a month ago where I work in sales and also make cold calls, I totally understand where you're coming from about not loving your job and not wanting to do it forever. I literally have had the same thoughts about how long I can stay at my job. I'm glad you're doing you!!
You are such a breath of fresh air! I could tell that you were not enjoying the job but were trying to talk yourself into it, so glad that you are pursuing your dreams.
So happy for you Brooke! There is nothing better than being able to walk away from something that no longer serves you or makes you happy. I just graduated last year and am still trying to adjust to post grad life. Totally get where you’re at and it is NORMAL. So happy for you!!!❤️
my mom worked a corporate job she hated until she was in her 40s and then decided to follow her dreams and pursue a career she actually wanted!! you mentioned in the podcast a lot of people would leave because youre not “relatable” but in my opinion this makes you more relatable!!! so happy for you and only great things are coming for you!
Thank you so much for this video! For all the resources on getting a business up and running, *why to leave the corporate world etc, I'd found next to nothing documenting the actual day of quitting to work for yourself and then found this! This is a huge help and inspiration---I've close to exhausted myself the past 6 months building a business while still working a full time job. Am now just weeks away from this moment, but things have been stressful at work etc, so seeing this has kept me going and was also a nice reality check/heads up on the weird feelings of not ever coming back to the office/leaving friends etc.
1) follow your passion--leaving a job that stresses you out is not a bad thing! 2) don't be embarrassed about making decisions on signs--the best decisions I made were when I followed my gut and listened to my instincts 3) you're gonna be great in whatever you choose to do
We ALL make decisions that benefit ourselves never anyone else; you did what was right for YOU nobody else. I definitely need to start doing this more. You took the time to figure out if that was a good decision for yourself + your life. I do appointment setting/lead generation/cold calling every single day. It gets to you after a while. I don't mind talking on the phone but there is a BIG difference between making cold calls + speaking to someone who is reaching out to you/a company. I totally agree w/ everything you said. I can send emails ALL day long/social media messages. It's so much easier for me. DO YOU + be great at it! You're a wonderful person, Brooke! XO
Good for you Brooke! Live your blessings. Don't stay miserable just because other people make u feel like u should "stick it out." Take advantage of all life offers you xoxo. This is a proud moment. Taking care of yourself
So I literally just started watching your videos this month and to see this one, I'm super excited but also feel like I needed to see someone do this. I'm taking this as a sign that I need to change some things in my life for me. Congratulations. Looking forward to big things from you.
honestly this inspires me SO MUCH. girl i am an advocate for putting yourself first and making yourself a priority!! LOL my job literally has drained me of my mental and physical health so I think it's time I make that change for myself too!! thanks girl!
we love you and love keeping up with your life just remember you don't owe us anything and don't have to give us explanations on why you do things!! you do you girl
Thank you so much for being so honest! I also just graduated and I quit my sales job about a month ago. I felt like such a loser, but it made me feel so much better to know that I’m not alone in feeling unsatisfied with my first job and that it’s ok to be a “quitter.” Xoxo
Brooke I cant even tell you how happy I am for you, and how much I appreciate how thankful you are for your success. Post grad is so hard and stressful and it can be even harder watching all of these youtubers move into luxury apartments I won't be able to afford for probably another 5-10 years. You are so real and relatable and humble, and you motivate me to keep grinding to see that success! Enjoy these exciting few weeks girl, you deserve it!!
I quit my job that I was at for 7 years over the summer. I was super scared to do it, but truly nothing feels better than getting out of a position that makes your mental health suffer... wishing you the best of luck!
If there’s something I’ve realized at 27, is that being truly happy is underrated. It’s something that I currently strive for everyday in all aspects of my life in general- work, my self esteem, mental and emotional health, etc.
I’m so so so excited for you! Been here since the freshman year dorm haul days. I have full faith that you’ll be a boss at this whole self-employed thing :)
Take your enthusiasm, energy, fire, motivation, brains & beauty & run with it!! You’ll never have this exact time in your life again. I wish you every bit of success & happiness you are so deserving of! Thanks for bringing us along! Now ... go do the damn thing! The thing that inspires everything in you!! Am so excited to follow along and cheer you on ☀️
My boss made me cry today in a meeting so literally rewatching this 2 years later to push me to gtfo of my toxic corporate gig 😩 forever cheering for you & so grateful you shared this vid
I’m so proud of you! A conventional job is ALWAYS there, the amazing opportunities you have influencing are not. You are making the right decision. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for always sharing your truth! You have shown that everyone’s story is truly their own. You are truly THRIVING talking about the work you do for yourself and are INSTANTLY happier. So excited for you and all of your future endeavors! 💛💛 lets go, baby!!
Brooke, I wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS! What an exciting change -- can't wait to watch you thrive! Also just wanted to acknowledge that recognizing when something isn't working for you is a skill in itself and moving on takes a lot of courage. You should be proud of yourself!
Literally SO happy for you!!! Such a HUGE change from the last vlogs to now-YOU GO GIRL! This is something you seriously needed to do! I feel like I can speak for everyone, you were not in a good space or mental health state before and now you are living life and gonna KILL IT!! We all will support you!
Don't feel bad I am 28 when I got my first job at 21 my dad told me "you are not married and you don't have kids you are to young to hate your job. If you need to quit, quit just make sure you have another job first" at 23 I took his advice. it is more then ok to quit a job as long as you can pay your bills and feed yourself
I quit my management job back in March of this year. I was mentally exhausted, I was so miserable and unhappy. I took 6 months off to gather my thoughts and get my mental health back on track. It was the best 6 months ever. I thrived so much & got SO much stuff done. It was the best decision of my life & I am so happy that you are taking this step. You will love your decision! Congrats!!
Not a believer in “everything happens for a reason” BUT I do believe you learn and take someone away from everything that happens in life. Congrats Brooke! So excited for what’s to come for you.
I love to see a gal who isn’t afraid to be an INDIVIDUAL!!! Everyone’s path in life is different and you have to do what’s best for you, thanks for the reminder💕
I work for Oracle in Facilities Admin, and I've never heard of that termination process, that you 'have' to leave same day if you're quitting, and not being 'fired.' You're so young, and have so much ahead of you..Good Luck in all of your endeavors girl!
wow look at how much happier you are already! I know it wasnt easy for you but I am SO PROUD of you for putting your needs/mental health first!!! GO OFF SIS cant wait to see you thrive these next few months!
Sometimes leaps of faith are the most fruitful. I’m so proud of you for this and doing what’s best for you and your mental health. Corporate jobs will always be there 🙌🏻
Love this so much!! I quit my awful job in August because they were treating me very badly! I thankfully received a job offer within 7 days of quitting. It was a nice two week vacation between jobs!! :)
I’m proud of you for making this big step Brooke 😸 I have a feeling you on the brink of something BIG! I will continue to support you and I’m SO EXCITED to see your vlogs moving forward
I can actually totally relate to this. I just graduated in may and started my first full-time job in sales in June. I lasted until early august and literally came in one day and just decided I had to quit and couldn't do it anymore. There is no point staying in something if it completely drains your happiness if you have the financial means to leave. It felt so good to leave and now I am pursuing what I truly want to do with my life! So I support your decision and I think you will be very successful in whatever you do next!
so proud of you, Brooke. It takes balls to leave a stable job to pursue your passions and take on the world your way - you’re going to do amazing things!! So happy I’m a fan who gets to watch you grow along the way🥰🤗
So proud of you for taking the leap!!! Not easy, but so worth it. Like you said, you/we are so young!!! Now’s the time to take risks and follow your heart. ♥️
Very few people enjoy making cold calls and sales in general is definitely something you can force yourself into. So don’t feel like a “quitter”. Lots of people have at some people gone into sales, realised it’s not their thing at all and moved on. Good on you for following your heart!
Honestly life is way too short to not do what you love or makes you happy. I’m a recent college grad and understand what you’re going through. It’s been such an emotional/crazy time of change. You have to live for you. At the end of the day if you’re happy that’s all that matters❤️❤️
i think i screamed when i saw the instagram story. me: i want to quit my internship and drop out my friends: are you just doing it because that brooke girl did it?
Hey girl! I just wanted to say that I worked for a similar company, also based in Boston, doing the exact same thing between July and October- and it wasn’t my thing either! Cold calling was probably one of the most mentally draining things I’ve ever done and I 100% appreciate you posting your process with quitting because I went through the same thing. :)
good job girlfriend! I went to UGA and graduated in 2017 but started following your vlogs because I wanted to feel the athens vibe after leaving lol! I'm proud of you for quitting and moving forward, its SO tough and SO awkward to do but you did it with grace.
“big quitter energy”
if that ain’t me
LOL i like this comment
Need this on a t-shirt
Quits job, catches flight, sippin champange - A MOOD. you have me ready to quit the corporate job I don't even have lmao.

Do something about it!!! Cheering for all of you to do what you want to do. Yes it is that easy.

usually the standard for leaving a job is two weeks notice so people can prepare to hire someone to replace you or else your coworkers get swamped
On Monday I also quit from my internship after 4 months because I realized that this is not what I want to do after graduation. So now I'm focusing on school and I am trying to figure what I want to do. You are such an inspiration to me.

I’m so proud of you! A conventional job is ALWAYS there, the amazing opportunities you have influencing are not. You are making the right decision. ❤️❤️❤️
I REFRESHED AFTER I WATCHED UR NIGHT IN MY LIFE AND HERE’S ANOTHER VIDEO! i love life❤️
Thank you for always sharing your truth! You have shown that everyone’s story is truly their own. You are truly THRIVING talking about the work you do for yourself and are INSTANTLY happier. So excited for you and all of your future endeavors! 💛💛 lets go, baby!!
You was READY READY to quit that job 🤣✌🏾🏃♀️
Right. That's how I was when I quit my job back in 2017. I was super excited haahaha.
So excited for what’s to come for you.
girl! good for you knowing whats right for you and going after it!! wishing you the best in whats to come next!
I love to see a gal who isn’t afraid to be an INDIVIDUAL!!! Everyone’s path in life is different and you have to do what’s best for you, thanks for the reminder💕
brooke- go you!!! this is what’s best for you. i’m so proud of you
I work for Oracle in Facilities Admin, and I've never heard of that termination process, that you 'have' to leave same day if you're quitting, and not being 'fired.' You're so young, and have so much ahead of you..Good Luck in all of your endeavors girl!
Proud of you for doing what’s best for you! Love your vlogs so much and can’t wait to see the future! xx
wow look at how much happier you are already! I know it wasnt easy for you but I am SO PROUD of you for putting your needs/mental health first!!! GO OFF SIS cant wait to see you thrive these next few months!
super happy for you Brooke! You immediately seemed much more happier and lighter! We love to see this for you! :)
I am proud of you for deciding to do something that makes you happy! I am excited to see more about your future ventures. Yay for staying in Boston!
Sometimes leaps of faith are the most fruitful. I’m so proud of you for this and doing what’s best for you and your mental health. Corporate jobs will always be there 🙌🏻
YOU FREAKIN GO GIRL! Do what’s best for you and what will make you happiest, who cares what everyone else thinks!
So happy I’m a fan who gets to watch you grow along the way🥰🤗
Yes queen!!! Been waiting for this video all week!
YAAAAAAS I have been WAITING for this upload girl!!!! I am so so so proud of you!!!
Your not unemployed, your fully self-employed. Congratulations!
GIRL! You are not unemployed!! You are KILLIN it bein self-employed!!!! YES girl so proud of you, so inspired by you!
You are SELF- employed not unemployed!!!! You are so happy!! We all love seeing you like this!!
So happy for you Brooke! I have loved following along with your post-grad journey!
Honestly life is way too short to not do what you love or makes you happy. I’m a recent college grad and understand what you’re going through. It’s been such an emotional/crazy time of change. You have to live for you. At the end of the day if you’re happy that’s all that matters❤️❤️
I am so happy you did this for yourself!!! You should be so proud of yourself and excited for what the future has to bring!
i think i screamed when i saw the instagram story.
me: i want to quit my internship and drop out
my friends: are you just doing it because that brooke girl did it?
this is the first video in so long I've seen you so happy!!! BIG congratulations on taking such a bold step :)
