I'm originally from Boston. I was happy to move about fifty miles north to Manchester New Hampshire where it is much more affordable to live. Boston is such a beautiful, historic city. So educational. Seeing this video, has made me home sick and proud of my city. Great job! Everybody should visit Boston at least once!
I enjoyed your video and the production values. One tip I have (as a long time adult traveler 🙂😁) is that many viewers typically want to learn about places that are unique to the destination. Franchise chains such as Shake Shack, Howl at the Moon, Blue Bottle Coffee and Tatte could be in many other cities. And Cheers has been a tourist trap for 40+ years! Those establishments kill the local character over the long haul. The Library, Pizzeria Regina, the Black Rose, Mike's Pastry and Club Cafe were all great choices = authentic Boston I love that you guys got such awesome rush seats to Six!!! There is nothing better than seeing a musical up so close!!! And that Green Line to Orange Line camera transition was very cool!
I do have info on Tatte as someone who had friends there in the bakeshop. They are a franchise but they are an original Boston bakery. They had only a few maybe within the decade but a regular wished there were more around. The regular would go to the one in Brookline a lot and he was an owner of Panera and started to fund Tatte to open more shops which is how they became a bigger franchise. That was my understanding of it feel free to correct me if I have any information wrong.
@@kennethyee36 Hi Kenneth. Thanks for that info. You are correct, the founder started Tatte as a small operation but then Panera sunk billions into it and now they have 30+ stores in Massachusetts, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. I prefer to support the Mom & Pop shops like those in the North End, East Boston, Chinatown and Dorchester neighborhoods. But I've been to Tatte and it is pretty good too!
Looks like you were here last fall. If you come back, a good time would be late April/early May when the tulips are planted in the public gardens. And you've been to some places I haven't yet (and I live only 30min away) 🙂
I live in Boston. It’s so cool to see the commons and downtown from someone else’s point of view. And lol you passed right by my job😂 What I will say though is that I love the food here. No matter where you go in Boston has delicious food for the most part. Loved your blog this was nice.
New York and Boston look like amazing cities definitely wanna visit Boston what area qould you recommend staying in to easily get around looks like they have a good metro system like New York.
When people talk about or visit Boston it’s always the typical Fenway Park, Harvard and Downtown. There’s so much more to explore than those places like the South End, Dorchester, Roxbury, JP, East Boston and Mattapan.
You're beautiful as ever! 🙂 I have not been to Boston yet and definitely want to go there at some point. Cheers would be a big place I would want to go, because even though it's a huge tourist trap, I loved that show!! 🙂 I don't even drink and I would still want to sit at the bar at Cheers lol.
“Cheers” is just the outside facade, the inside looks nothing like the show. The bar used to be called the Bull and Finch Pub but changed its names to Cheers after the show went off the air. Honestly, just another tourist trap. If you want to go to a famous bar that’s actually like the one in a movie go to the L Street Tavern in South Boston, from “Good Will Hunting”.
@@jonathanblair5255 "The bar used to be called the Bull and Finch Pub but changed its names to Cheers after the show went off the air. We return to Boston area twice a year to visit families and friends, also to eat seafoods. We lived and worked around Boston until we retired, couldn't stand the cold and long dark winter days, so we move to Hawaii. (Outdoor daily with the warm ocean air) Should add a few more years to our life .
Sure, it's a little more expensive to live here but what you get in return is priceless! Most jobs pay better here and yes the rent is a bit higher but it all balances out! I love Massachusetts! Grew up in the Greater Boston area and still live here! Cape Cod is a must in the Summer and Fall, but go on the less-beaten path, not the popular touristy areas, all the time. 🦀 ⛵
If you're into speakeasy type vibes Hecate, The Wig Shop, and Yvonne's are amazing. I also highly recommend Bovas bakery in the north end over mikes imo And Stanza's is amazing, its a cigar bar but has the best espresso martinis in the city
