The abridged is being surprisingly accurate to the original. It's keeping the plot points but making them funny and at the same time calling out any plot holes present in the original.
for example, that episode where they kepts saying "We've been here 20 hours?!" Is calling out the plot hole that technically 20 hours was supposed to pass but it didn't logically make sense for the events shown. Krillin: "20 hours?! When did we sleep?"... and Bulma: "You crushed the remote?!! that was 20 hours of my life wasted!"
@@deathinc That's one of the things I've learned to accept with dragon ball and other animes, the fact that they like to heavily abuse time. Whether they'd slow down time or fast-forward it.

# 0001 I've always loved the Super Saiyan 3 form, the wild long hair makes them look more intimidating. Like as if you are staring in the face of a lion. It's also why I loved the Super Saiyan 4 form as well, it's not as long as SS3 but the way it's designed along with their eyes just makes them even MORE imposing. I almost thought Goku turned evil back when I first saw the SS4 form. In any case. MasakoX's channel does shed some light or rather a LOT of light on Raditz.

The 'fat kirby,' moment might be the most signifigant moment in Vegetas entire story and character arc, but THIS moment with his final flash is probably considered his most epic moment in the series. It made it's own meme with his piano theme where if you heard his piano theme start playing you knew shit was about to go crazy.

I love your guys reaction. To answer your question on how it was in the original. For how it was in the original, basically it was the same. Cell goated Vegeta into allowing him to absorb 18, Trunks holding back because he didn't want to hurt his father's pride, and then Krillin knowing Trunks is stronger than Vegeta. The difference is when Vegeta is doing Final Flash, he goated Cell to try to tank the hit instead of Cell giving Vegeta a free hit.
But why did krillen think trunks was stronger, trunks thought he was stronger because of the buff form but as is explained next episode that form is useless even goku and vegeta could use it but choose not too
@@Bigbevil My guess is the same way like how him and Piccolo could sensei Freeza's power before he went 100%. But honestly I don't remember how he knew or even if he knew the speed decrease. Just the strength was much higher.
@@Bigbevil My only guess is that Trunks would've been stronger had he used his own "super" form like Vegeta, but not having as much experience as he or Goku, pushed it and went farther beyond without knowing the consequences in an attempt to completely overpower Cell.
Fun fact: The Destructo Disk not having any effect on Cell is a testament to Cell’s newfound durability, especially when you consider that it was a threat to Nappa and Vegeta if it hit them, despite them being way stronger than Krillin. It really puts into perspective just how much stronger Cell is by comparison. Another fun fact: Vegeta’s Final Flash is arguably his most powerful and most dangerous technique simply because there‘s no known limit to how strong it can be. It can be however strong Vegeta wants it to be if he’s willing to put in the time and effort it takes to charge it. Cell realized this in the moment right before he got hit, so he very quickly dodged so it only took his arm instead of killing him. It’s honestly amazing that the first time Vegeta used it, it was big enough to be seen from space against the curvature of the Earth.
Interesting thing about the first fact is that the destructo disk breaking on contact with cell is that the scene is anime only In the manga Cell still had to dodge
@@thehoodedteddy1335 think all of Bruce falconers teams soundtracks are hits very few of them are misses one of my top all time favorite ost ever and for sure greatest anime soundtracks ever but music is subjective
So, a lot of the earlier part of DBZA was changed for the sake of comedy, like scenes and character motivations, but when they reached the third season, they started writing so that the more serious things like character moments and motivations were left mostly untouched while they wrote the humor around these aspects of the show. So Krillin didn't shut down/kill 18 with the remote, Vegeta let Cell absorb 18, and Trunks held back to salvage Vegeta's pride just like this in the original series, only there were far fewer jokes around all of it. There are still some differences, for instance: Team Four Star played up 16's desire to kill Goku, but for the most part, the characters in this season are largely acting more like slightly exaggerated and more humorous versions of the original series rather than the full on parodies that we saw in the earlier seasons.
I like the little unsaid detail that Krillin, Trunks, and Vegeta weren't aware that Cell could regenerate. Piccolo, 17, and 18 were present when 16 ripped off his tail in his first form and it grew back, but it wasn't mentioned to the others. So their positive reaction thinking they hurt him good is short lived. I like it when shows don't just make everybody who wasn't there just know without them ever being addressed or informed. They did the same with Gero and 19 when Yamcha came and informed them of their ability to drain energy after getting the hole in his chest.

Toryiama clearly created the character of Vegeta to hate on him as he represents very traditional japanese character features, as opposed to goku who is laid back and happier representing more western approach to life. Strangely enough as the show reached western hemosphere the character of vegeta got an entire fanbase of his own that rivals or even supoasses goku's. To me Vegeta always have been heart of the show. His journey, riddled with loses is a brutal one to watch but that is exactly what made the character so much more than all the others.
The great thing is that the end scene actually did happen. There really was a scene in the original DBZ where Gohan burned Goku's hair by accidentally lighting the meat on fire with his energy. They took it to the extreme in Abridged but still, it shows that part of the reason DBZ Abridged works so well is because DBZ is just goofy on its own when it wants to be. Toriyama is a comedy writer and all of his series besides Dragon Ball are exclusively comedy series.
the thing to understand here is that perfect cell is astonishingly strong and with the cells of the greatest fighters. Vegeta's final flash was actually incredible and more than strong enough to defeat cell. had cell not realized the last-second it's strength and dodged to the side he would have been completely disintegrated and that's why he said "oh shit". it was a typically ballsy attempt from vegeta but just didn't quite work
EASILY one of my favorite episodes in the series. Vegeta gets to show off one of his (now) most iconic attacks, we see just how much of a menace Cell is after attaining perfection (that insult combined with the backbreaker was brutal!), and the cherry on top is Gohan's moment of realization that finally pushes him into Super Saiyan! Just so many good moments packed in here!
Gohan going super saiyan is probably the most excited DBZA Goku ever was to be a parent! Also, Cell is one of if not the only character in DBZ to take a Destructo Disc and not dodge it or be damaged in any way.
10:02 Yeah, a lot of injury. I don't think I've ever seen a more profound physical representation of karma than Vegeta getting his spine broken like a toothpick like that.
I loved the fact that in this episode, specifically, Cell gave Vegeta his time to shine just so that he could take him down a peg or three. The comment of "wait for Goku" wasn't just Cell pushing the "Goku button" but smashing that thing like how Krillin destroyed the remote for the androids, and you saw it on Vegeta's face how hard that one hit.
The music during Vegeta powering up his Final Flash was from one of the dubs and it was made by Bruce Falconer and even though KaiserNeko has expressed his distaste for it, he used that particular bit as it fits the scene
Blink and you'll miss it moment, that I just wanted to point out. The Destructo Disc (or Kienzan, if you prefer) is Krillin's most powerful attack. It's a running joke in DBZA that he always either forgets to use it or it misses, and the few times it has hit, it's only ever been glancing blows, like Nappa's cheek and the tip of Frieza's tail. 3:11 It hits Cell directly and with full force, and does nothing
it's an extremely dangerous attack that has always been lethal even to very strong foes... but it demonstrates how far perfect cell is above krillin at this point... a normally deadly attack that no one can take head-on results in no damage on cell
I love seeing the reactions to the scenes, but normally I think hers are normally more mellow. This episode however, from the start. She had the best reactions starting when her eyes lit up hearing goku say "special training that piccolo tells me you been struggling with." From start to finish I think this is the best reaction to the series I have seen. Love seeing your guys notification come in.
Funfact - The relationship between Gohan and Goku..TFS did such a great job. And this was a very important lesson for Gohan. Greatly written. In the original it was so that Goku has held back to spare Gohan. After all, it was Gohan who wanted his father to give him a full-power Kamehame-Ha. If he couldn't fight it off, he wouldn't be worthy of being his son and a true Saiyajin.
I have been counting the days for you two to get to this episode. This is far and away my favorite episode in all of DBZA: Gohan finally reaching Super Saiyan, the sheer epicness of Vegeta's Final Flash (Lanipator's Vegeta and Takahata's Perfect Cell in that moment are as on par with the official Dub as any moment in the series in terms of quality) And above all else...THE most savage burn in DBZA history to me with that Goku line. You can give Vegeta 100 senzu beans and that damage still won't heal.
A fun fact about this episode is that the background music playing while Vegeta charged and blasted his Final Flash was actually part of the original show. That scene was so iconic as along with that soundtrack that tfs decided to include it in the abridged series as well. I absolutely Love your reactions to my favorite UA-cam series!!!
Love how Goku suddenly turns into a parent when food is involved. Also, I really enjoy watching Vegeta get what's coming to him. I mean, his pride is nearly infinite, so it's not going to do any good in the long run, but it's still funny.

Your reactions to Gohan roiding out were so great. Such a huge moment in the show and done so well in the abridged. So much of this saga has been Vegeta getting cut down because of his pride over and over, but when the piano piece from The FInal Flash started playing it almost seems like he's gonna come back from it. Also, Goku's song at the end is done to the theme song of Dragon Ball Z Kai.
The combination of Cell telling Vegeta to learn his place and wait for Goku followed by Cell breaking Vegeta's back is probably the most brutal hit in the entirety of DBZA or the original. Loved your reactions. Can't wait for what's coming!!
14:11 Actually, the reasoning Abridged does here is consistent with the original. Trunks didn't want to shatter his pride. But if I'm recalling this correctly, the Gohan training was modified. Edit: My mistake. The training was modified, but not because of what I initially said.. The actual reason was because GOHAN wanted Goku to do this for his training so he could be a Super Saiyan. Goku still held back, though it was dangerous.
It was actually Gohan who was like: If you don't come at me with the intent to kill I will never do it. Goku hesitated at first but he seen how determined Gohan was and he believed that Gohan can do it so he went along with it.
Vegeta's Final Flash music here is the original from the OG show. It's one of the best pieces of music in the entirety of the franchise, and downright my favorite.
I found it very ironic and fitting that they went with this theme for this moment. When this moment happened in the show, they used Vegeta's Hell's Bells theme when he launched the beam, so I thought this was a great switch out for the Abridged version.
The whole situation with Vegeta and Cell in this is actually really accurate to the show. In the show it was basically the same exact thing. Cell played Vegeta and told him that he only had to absorb Android 18 to reach his perfect form. Vegeta being the egotistical character he is let Cell get away and actively assisted him by attacking Trunks. Once Cell became perfect the fight was pretty much over. In fact that kick to neck and the final flash were the only 2 hits Vegeta got on Cell during the entire fight and both were extremely ineffective as you saw here. Basically yes and it is kind of hard to tell whether or not if TFS is over exaggerating different moments if you haven’t seen the actual show. However the Vegeta and Cell situation was pretty accurate to what went down in the actual show.

The general story of DBZA and DBZ is the same and follows the same story beats; Vegeta did let Cell absorb 18 so that he could be a proper challenge and Trunks did put Vegeta's pride on a pedestal for allowing it to happen. It's one of the main things that separates DBZA from other Abridged series which can completely change the tone/story of the original material. DBZA is actually extremely close to the same story just told in a bit more lighthearted manner and with much better pacing.
seriously, I love episodes 52 and 53 so much, but your reactions to them- the stunned and excited looks in both of your eyes is in itself worth watching this over and over again.
Since this series is sadly coming to an end soon, and seeing you guys wonder how to the original show handles things, i'd love to see you guys play Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot! It retells the whole story in videogame format without having to watch the whole show again! :)
I have never been more proud of Krillin than I was at that moment. + 16 is the MVP. Mark my words. His love was sincere. He was fully aware that Cell was a thousand times stronger than him, yet he attacked him with everything he had, even briefly with Trunks, but Cell only kicked Krillin out of spite...
I'll keep saying this hoping you notice it: You would really enjoy watching dragon ball Z Kai final chapters after this, that way you get to see adult Gohan going to the university, and also finish the rest of the story. Also Sword Art Online Abridged is another excellent choice.

This is the point when Vegeta was at his most arrogant. Trunks was so worried about shattering Vegeta’s pride that he didn’t realise Cell had already shattered it along with his body. Well deserved and a much needed wake up call considering after this he chills out a whole lot
Yep Gohan gets Super Saiyan in this episode. But you notice he doesn't dodge. He plants his feet, grits his teeth & in Goku terms he eats that horse. Love the excited reaction on Bethanys face about it though so much she slaps Kens thigh or arm as if to say. "Its happening, Its happening." then after the inner monologue she does it again to say. "It happened, It happened." When we first saw that even the show not abridged alot of us had that reaction. Remember a detail here Gohan has been keeping pace with them since he was young. The Super Saiyan pecking order. Yep most of us are curious about that. Let us just say it is a shifting target at this point & as they say in the abridged power levels are bullshit. But trust me you will know or have a good idea by the end of the abridged series what the order of power levels are amongst the Saiyans. There is a established trait with Saiyans that the want to test themselves against the strongest possible opponent as that makes them improve even if they get wrecked. While both Goku & Vegeta have their own primary traits that species trait is there. As for what will come with Android 16 & the others you will just have to continue to watch. It is great you guys are enjoying it. But now it is the home stretch. I will recommend just for something funny to watch after it DragonShortz also done by Team Four Star it is kind of related. And #3 oddly enough meets an expectation in the best way. :)
Your reactions when you realized the episode was over were amazing. If Team Four Star mastered anything by this point, it was the art of the cliffhanger. Although, that may also be because at this point, we were waiting months between episodes, but still, they knew how to end an episode to keep us coming back.
Something people seem to not be talking about, Krillin hit Cell with his Destructo Disk / Kienzan , in 'the neck.' This attack was able to mutilate Frieza, all the other main characters constantly bring up that he should he use it more often, because they all 'know' its genuinely dangerous. It didn't even scratch Cell.
vegetas finest hour. that final flash and the excellent version of the original dub score make this episode perfect. Also another big improvement in production quality, character and dialogue writing starting with this episode. Episodes 50-60 are just in a league of their own

Aside from the lunchroom beatdown in Tenjo Tenge Perfect Cell completely owning Super Vegeta is one of the most disrespectful moments in anime history. But Vegeta did bring it on himself.
Interesting fact about Goku's comment at the end (What smells like pork?): human flesh apparently tastes very similar to pork when cooked. Pork is the closest analogue. Also, Cell pushed the Goku button, and got away with it. The Final Flash has to be Vegeta's most powerful attack. The windup is hellish, but if it lands, it's his heaviest hitting move. If he skips the windup, it's still pretty beefy, more than the Gallick Gun by a considerable degree. And that epic piano music was so good for it. Too bad Cell realized "oh crapbaskets! If this hits me head on, I will *not* survive!" and managed to dodge most of it. Next episode, we'll see just how powerful Trunks has become!

If you love Vegeta NOW, it's a great shame that we don't get to see the DBZA version of him on the Majin Buu saga, which happens after the end of the Cell saga, you would absolutely adore the character. I don't want to say more than that incase you somehow end up seeing the Majin Buu saga through other means, but the character of Vegeta just keeps getting better and better and better. I'm also really loving all of the insight and analysis Beth has about this all, she's really getting into Dragonball, it's really adorable and so much fun to see how she's able to get into those same thoughts, emotions and mental states that many of us did as kids.

Fun fact: The Destructo Disk not having any effect on Cell is a testament to Cell’s newfound durability, especially when you consider that it was a threat to Nappa and Vegeta if it hit them, despite them being way stronger than Krillin. It really puts into perspective just how much stronger Cell is by comparison.
Another fun fact: Vegeta’s Final Flash is arguably his most powerful and most dangerous technique simply because there‘s no known limit to how strong it can be. It can be however strong Vegeta wants it to be if he’s willing to put in the time and effort it takes to charge it. Cell realized this in the moment right before he got hit, so he very quickly dodged so it only took his arm instead of killing him. It’s honestly amazing that the first time Vegeta used it, it was big enough to be seen from space against the curvature of the Earth.

Yeah it’s hard to feel sorry for him since he brought this on himself. Even though we love Vegeta 🤗
So, a lot of the earlier part of DBZA was changed for the sake of comedy, like scenes and character motivations, but when they reached the third season, they started writing so that the more serious things like character moments and motivations were left mostly untouched while they wrote the humor around these aspects of the show. So Krillin didn't shut down/kill 18 with the remote, Vegeta let Cell absorb 18, and Trunks held back to salvage Vegeta's pride just like this in the original series, only there were far fewer jokes around all of it. There are still some differences, for instance: Team Four Star played up 16's desire to kill Goku, but for the most part, the characters in this season are largely acting more like slightly exaggerated and more humorous versions of the original series rather than the full on parodies that we saw in the earlier seasons.

I like the little unsaid detail that Krillin, Trunks, and Vegeta weren't aware that Cell could regenerate. Piccolo, 17, and 18 were present when 16 ripped off his tail in his first form and it grew back, but it wasn't mentioned to the others. So their positive reaction thinking they hurt him good is short lived. I like it when shows don't just make everybody who wasn't there just know without them ever being addressed or informed. They did the same with Gero and 19 when Yamcha came and informed them of their ability to drain energy after getting the hole in his chest.

Toryiama clearly created the character of Vegeta to hate on him as he represents very traditional japanese character features, as opposed to goku who is laid back and happier representing more western approach to life. Strangely enough as the show reached western hemosphere the character of vegeta got an entire fanbase of his own that rivals or even supoasses goku's. To me Vegeta always have been heart of the show. His journey, riddled with loses is a brutal one to watch but that is exactly what made the character so much more than all the others.
I do love that Goku admits (afterward) he only used half-strength against Gohan. A tiny, TINY suggestion that he might care about his son after all...

The great thing is that the end scene actually did happen. There really was a scene in the original DBZ where Gohan burned Goku's hair by accidentally lighting the meat on fire with his energy. They took it to the extreme in Abridged but still, it shows that part of the reason DBZ Abridged works so well is because DBZ is just goofy on its own when it wants to be. Toriyama is a comedy writer and all of his series besides Dragon Ball are exclusively comedy series.
the thing to understand here is that perfect cell is astonishingly strong and with the cells of the greatest fighters. Vegeta's final flash was actually incredible and more than strong enough to defeat cell. had cell not realized the last-second it's strength and dodged to the side he would have been completely disintegrated and that's why he said "oh shit". it was a typically ballsy attempt from vegeta but just didn't quite work
EASILY one of my favorite episodes in the series. Vegeta gets to show off one of his (now) most iconic attacks, we see just how much of a menace Cell is after attaining perfection (that insult combined with the backbreaker was brutal!), and the cherry on top is Gohan's moment of realization that finally pushes him into Super Saiyan! Just so many good moments packed in here!

I loved the fact that in this episode, specifically, Cell gave Vegeta his time to shine just so that he could take him down a peg or three. The comment of "wait for Goku" wasn't just Cell pushing the "Goku button" but smashing that thing like how Krillin destroyed the remote for the androids, and you saw it on Vegeta's face how hard that one hit.
That glee towards Gohan's transformation was wholesome as fuck.

The music during Vegeta powering up his Final Flash was from one of the dubs and it was made by Bruce Falconer and even though KaiserNeko has expressed his distaste for it, he used that particular bit as it fits the scene
ah yes, the second biggest lesson that Vegeta ever learns.
First is not to say a certain word to a certain God that no one questions. (no spoilers)
Blink and you'll miss it moment, that I just wanted to point out. The Destructo Disc (or Kienzan, if you prefer) is Krillin's most powerful attack. It's a running joke in DBZA that he always either forgets to use it or it misses, and the few times it has hit, it's only ever been glancing blows, like Nappa's cheek and the tip of Frieza's tail.

it's an extremely dangerous attack that has always been lethal even to very strong foes... but it demonstrates how far perfect cell is above krillin at this point... a normally deadly attack that no one can take head-on results in no damage on cell
I love seeing the reactions to the scenes, but normally I think hers are normally more mellow. This episode however, from the start. She had the best reactions starting when her eyes lit up hearing goku say "special training that piccolo tells me you been struggling with." From start to finish I think this is the best reaction to the series I have seen. Love seeing your guys notification come in.
Honest to god it was satisfying to see Karma come for Krillin and Vegeta, Trunks was the only one with common sense during that period

The relationship between Gohan and Goku..TFS did such a great job. And this was a very important lesson for Gohan. Greatly written.
In the original it was so that Goku has held back to spare Gohan.
After all, it was Gohan who wanted his father to give him a full-power Kamehame-Ha.
If he couldn't fight it off, he wouldn't be worthy of being his son and a true Saiyajin.
I always loved how in the original Gohan is basically like: You either kill me with this or I'm really your son and I can overcome it.
I don't think Goku really cares about "worth" like that.

I have been counting the days for you two to get to this episode. This is far and away my favorite episode in all of DBZA: Gohan finally reaching Super Saiyan, the sheer epicness of Vegeta's Final Flash (Lanipator's Vegeta and Takahata's Perfect Cell in that moment are as on par with the official Dub as any moment in the series in terms of quality)
And above all else...THE most savage burn in DBZA history to me with that Goku line. You can give Vegeta 100 senzu beans and that damage still won't heal.
A fun fact about this episode is that the background music playing while Vegeta charged and blasted his Final Flash was actually part of the original show. That scene was so iconic as along with that soundtrack that tfs decided to include it in the abridged series as well.

Your reactions to Gohan roiding out were so great. Such a huge moment in the show and done so well in the abridged. So much of this saga has been Vegeta getting cut down because of his pride over and over, but when the piano piece from The FInal Flash started playing it almost seems like he's gonna come back from it. Also, Goku's song at the end is done to the theme song of Dragon Ball Z Kai.

The combination of Cell telling Vegeta to learn his place and wait for Goku followed by Cell breaking Vegeta's back is probably the most brutal hit in the entirety of DBZA or the original.

Edit: My mistake. The training was modified, but not because of what I initially said..
The actual reason was because GOHAN wanted Goku to do this for his training so he could be a Super Saiyan. Goku still held back, though it was dangerous.
It was actually Gohan who was like: If you don't come at me with the intent to kill I will never do it.
Goku hesitated at first but he seen how determined Gohan was and he believed that Gohan can do it so he went along with it.

Vegeta's Final Flash music here is the original from the OG show. It's one of the best pieces of music in the entirety of the franchise, and downright my favorite.
I found it very ironic and fitting that they went with this theme for this moment. When this moment happened in the show, they used Vegeta's Hell's Bells theme when he launched the beam, so I thought this was a great switch out for the Abridged version.
Man this is an amazing series no matter how many times I watch it. Even better with the excellent commentary! Keep up the good work!

The whole situation with Vegeta and Cell in this is actually really accurate to the show. In the show it was basically the same exact thing. Cell played Vegeta and told him that he only had to absorb Android 18 to reach his perfect form. Vegeta being the egotistical character he is let Cell get away and actively assisted him by attacking Trunks. Once Cell became perfect the fight was pretty much over. In fact that kick to neck and the final flash were the only 2 hits Vegeta got on Cell during the entire fight and both were extremely ineffective as you saw here.
Basically yes and it is kind of hard to tell whether or not if TFS is over exaggerating different moments if you haven’t seen the actual show. However the Vegeta and Cell situation was pretty accurate to what went down in the actual show.

The general story of DBZA and DBZ is the same and follows the same story beats; Vegeta did let Cell absorb 18 so that he could be a proper challenge and Trunks did put Vegeta's pride on a pedestal for allowing it to happen.
It's one of the main things that separates DBZA from other Abridged series which can completely change the tone/story of the original material. DBZA is actually extremely close to the same story just told in a bit more lighthearted manner and with much better pacing.
This is when my crush for Trunks & Goku became intensified 😂 Goku in that armor made a little girl 👧🏻 go crazy for cartoons 😂

seriously, I love episodes 52 and 53 so much, but your reactions to them- the stunned and excited looks in both of your eyes is in itself worth watching this over and over again.
Since this series is sadly coming to an end soon, and seeing you guys wonder how to the original show handles things, i'd love to see you guys play Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot! It retells the whole story in videogame format without having to watch the whole show again! :)

I'll keep saying this hoping you notice it: You would really enjoy watching dragon ball Z Kai final chapters after this, that way you get to see adult Gohan going to the university, and also finish the rest of the story. Also Sword Art Online Abridged is another excellent choice.

This is the point when Vegeta was at his most arrogant. Trunks was so worried about shattering Vegeta’s pride that he didn’t realise Cell had already shattered it along with his body. Well deserved and a much needed wake up call considering after this he chills out a whole lot
Yep Gohan gets Super Saiyan in this episode. But you notice he doesn't dodge. He plants his feet, grits his teeth & in Goku terms he eats that horse. Love the excited reaction on Bethanys face about it though so much she slaps Kens thigh or arm as if to say. "Its happening, Its happening." then after the inner monologue she does it again to say. "It happened, It happened."
When we first saw that even the show not abridged alot of us had that reaction. Remember a detail here Gohan has been keeping pace with them since he was young.
The Super Saiyan pecking order. Yep most of us are curious about that. Let us just say it is a shifting target at this point & as they say in the abridged power levels are bullshit.
But trust me you will know or have a good idea by the end of the abridged series what the order of power levels are amongst the Saiyans.
There is a established trait with Saiyans that the want to test themselves against the strongest possible opponent as that makes them improve even if they get wrecked. While both Goku & Vegeta have their own primary traits that species trait is there.
As for what will come with Android 16 & the others you will just have to continue to watch. It is great you guys are enjoying it. But now it is the home stretch. I will recommend just for something funny to watch after it DragonShortz also done by Team Four Star it is kind of related. And #3 oddly enough meets an expectation in the best way. :)

Your reactions when you realized the episode was over were amazing. If Team Four Star mastered anything by this point, it was the art of the cliffhanger. Although, that may also be because at this point, we were waiting months between episodes, but still, they knew how to end an episode to keep us coming back.
This final flash in the original was so epic in the original it was such a powerful moment
Something people seem to not be talking about, Krillin hit Cell with his Destructo Disk / Kienzan , in 'the neck.' This attack was able to mutilate Frieza, all the other main characters constantly bring up that he should he use it more often, because they all 'know' its genuinely dangerous. It didn't even scratch Cell.
vegetas finest hour. that final flash and the excellent version of the original dub score make this episode perfect. Also another big improvement in production quality, character and dialogue writing starting with this episode. Episodes 50-60 are just in a league of their own

Aside from the lunchroom beatdown in Tenjo Tenge Perfect Cell completely owning Super Vegeta is one of the most disrespectful moments in anime history. But Vegeta did bring it on himself.

Interesting fact about Goku's comment at the end (What smells like pork?): human flesh apparently tastes very similar to pork when cooked. Pork is the closest analogue.
Also, Cell pushed the Goku button, and got away with it.
The Final Flash has to be Vegeta's most powerful attack. The windup is hellish, but if it lands, it's his heaviest hitting move. If he skips the windup, it's still pretty beefy, more than the Gallick Gun by a considerable degree. And that epic piano music was so good for it. Too bad Cell realized "oh crapbaskets! If this hits me head on, I will *not* survive!" and managed to dodge most of it.
Next episode, we'll see just how powerful Trunks has become!
Also Abridged Goku eats a lot of bacon so he's probably gonna taste even more like pork haha. But yeah, human is called "long pig" by some cannibals.

If you love Vegeta NOW, it's a great shame that we don't get to see the DBZA version of him on the Majin Buu saga, which happens after the end of the Cell saga, you would absolutely adore the character.
I don't want to say more than that incase you somehow end up seeing the Majin Buu saga through other means, but the character of Vegeta just keeps getting better and better and better.
I'm also really loving all of the insight and analysis Beth has about this all, she's really getting into Dragonball, it's really adorable and so much fun to see how she's able to get into those same thoughts, emotions and mental states that many of us did as kids.
