A full analysis on the music video for Pt. 1: The kidnapped individual was a 'defendant' in a 'trial' with the psychotic Ren accusing him and acting as Judge/Jury/Executioner. Ren's character, through the song, goes on to explain the individual's crime: being part of a money game - a twisted game where people are divided and suffering for the sake of wealth. People who are willing to exploit their peers get ahead, and other are forced to do bad things for survival. Each time he gets close to exacting punishment and killing his victim, he stops to continue explaining more ways we twist our lives for that wealth. He even symbolically draws eyes on the head sack to signify that the victim isn't blind to it: the captor has 'opened his eyes'. He has no excuse and deserves this punishment of death. Finally, with one final attempt to do the deed, Ren's character realized the futility of what he's doing. Looking in the mirror, as per the lyrics, he is also part of the money game. And so, he puts aside his holier attitude and burns himself to death instead. As he said, as assuredly as the whole world turns while playing this game, the whole world burns as well.

Pt 1 is all live, one take. You can hear the ambient noise in the parking garage location. That's Romain Axisa (in The Big Push) under the sheet playing the guitar. Stunning. Pt 2 - genius. And isn't that just the hookiest hook of all hookery in these two songs? It haunts my mind. For years I basically believed in the power of govt to ultimately work for the good of the people. I no longer do, as things currently are configured. I think there still are individuals who aren't corrupt and do try, but they're overrun by the vast majority of greedy bastards just in it for themselves. These corrupt lowlifes are not held to account for their corruption, and if that doesn't happen, it ultimately destroys a country/govt and a culture.

MJ used his music to bring light to hard hitting facts & questioned the whole system. Ren is calling out greed, corruption, racism, hate, environment destruction, poverty, and health issues through music just like Michael...MJ was known for extended film like music videos to poke the bear and put focus on the power abuse. The difference... MJ had an unlimited budget and industry support behind him. Ren is calling out the exact same issues MJ did, with the same skill and truth in his messages that are intricately weaved in long film like videos all with close to zero budget and are mostly performed Live. The sad truth is this also highlights that we are no better off than we were 25 years ago. Think Earth Song, Black or White & Man in the Mirror.... Anyone remember when Black or White premiered? You are one of the few reactors to mention the multiple presidents/prime ministers shown, most pick one or the other as a good example of corruption, then ignore the appearance of the one they voted for. Amazing song and a fantastic reaction. You are one of the few reactors to mention the multiple presidents/prime ministers shown, most pick one or the other as a good example of corruption, then ignore the appearance of the one they voted for. I was also guilty of this before I saw it pointed out, just goes to show I am just as blinded by the money game as so many of us are.

Ren mentions in his rap Hunger he's an "anti-capitalistic rebel". We don't have to talk about politicians in particular... Just remember that your lifestyle, my lifestyle..is built on a DEMOCRACY.. and while I agree with you NONE of the politicians give a crap about us as individuals... We need to deal with the lesser of the two evils. I believe the division we face in America has far more to do with economics and class.
