Literally just blundered and came to youtube for a break...
I blunder everyday so iam watching
Me 2
I blunder every move, so I am watching it as well
Real 😆
😂 me too fam me too
I got this video on loop
I think there is some strange psychology in that if you blunder it encourages your opponent to blunder as well.Always worth continuing.
I've heard similar claims about getting into time trouble. Supposedly some players, if their position was difficult, would deliberately get into time trouble so that they would be moving faster, which in turn would tend to make their opponent move faster, which in turn would make them blunder. How _you're_ supposed to avoid blundering further is not explained.
I think it works like this: subconsciously you rule out obvious blunders when thinking of what your opponent is going to do and you're so focused on the best moves you think they can do or the moves that seem most likely to happen that when they do a huge blunder there's a decent chance you'll miss it completely.
"I'm attacking. I'm attacking" - Nelson. New favorite quote.
Really interesting engine tactic at 2:50--black has Rd1+!! After Rxd1, e2+! followed by exd1=Q.
Am a big fan of your work, bro! You are not an ass clown like others who do not teach- you have the heart of a teacher and i respect that!
Your commentary was like poetry😂 very suspenseful and i was like at the edge of my seat
If a 2300 Rapid, and 2400 Blitz blunders like this, then my checkmate blunders are completely 🆗 at my 2100+ Rapid rating
I blundered heaps today so great video Nelson
This is exactly why I never resign
Great commentary! Really exciting. 😃
that was fun and engaging. Thanks Nelson!
Clickbait title, but I played a rapid game this morning and blundered my queen on the fifth move. This video was meant for me!
Hey Nelson, ich finde deine Videos wirklich sehr sehr hilfreich.
Danke
Love this.
Never give up, never surrender!
Very inspiring!
I remember I played a game where I was totally crushed, but I still managed to keep my queen on the board to deliver some checks to slow my opponent down, and although my queen was lost later, since I still had some pawns, I won on time
Nelson teaching us to avoid tunnel vision:🤓.
Me using Nelson's Knowledge:😎.
Nelson forgetting what he taught us and goes wrong in a chess game:😞.
Tenacity works in all time controls, not just in speed games. I can't count how many times I've won games after being down significant material, and I play almost exclusively correspondence games.
Nice video Nelson
I love supporting my favorite chess streamers and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to finally keep coming back to this video every day and not learn anything in return cause I know I'll just blunder again
I blundered the other day (gave away my room) but I pressed on… and squeezed out a win. First time that ever happened. Sometimes blundering can be a wake up call.
I cannot convey how valuable it is to play on no matter what at lower ratings. I've come back from blundering three pieces before.
Happened to me today. Blundered a rook on move 24. Kept playing, dow.n 5 to 6 points according to stockfish (which I learned after the game!) until move 40. At the end I had pawns that my opponent could not stop and he resigned.
Why did that count as a draw?
That's the rule
Ah I see; it’s called timeout vs insufficient material. I’ve never seen that rule before
Firstly I should play on the level that fits for my rating. I do not need just the points. Secondly such draws are good for the blitz only. As well as such blunders happen in the blitz
Was rook b7 a good move? (Starting position)
Wow !! There really is hope for us all 🤫
I just blundered a game and needed to see this !
I'm currently revisiting this video for the 7th time

when will I get better at chess
My first instinct was to just sidestep then after a while I considered the move you ended up doing. Lol weird that I would have done the same blunder if I thought instead of my instinct
Definitily worth playing on o lower rankings like mine (1300) I have won, drawn lots of games like that. I've also lost quite a few.
From the starting situation, how about:
1. Ra8+ Nxa8
2. Ra8+ Kc7
3. Na6+ Kd7
4. Nc5+
If black plays Bxc5, the attack on the Queen is over.
If black plays Kb7, can keep repeating this for a draw.
If black plays Kd7 then
5 Qh4+ Ke8 or Kf8
6 Qx68#
The BDG is a fun opening.
i almost always never give up even in my 1600 rapid or 1500 blitz... they ve many times stalemate me cuz of time or i got draw cuz of time or even a win cuz i have a pawn they did not capture and lose form time...ppl get mad that i dont resign but i dc..if i see a chance to stalemate or draw from time i always go for it..
Could a queen sacrifice to take the bishop work in that dilemma? It pulls the rook off station leaving a rook check with enemy rook capture immeinent.
Hey Nelson can u make some new video to reach 2k from 1800 level m stuck at this level for months
Can you send me the game review?
I usually play Sandi.
why is it a draw if the opponent runs out of time?
Out of time vs no material = draw
Because Nelson does not have any pieces with which he can checkmate, it is a draw, for example, if he still has a knight, but a win if he has a pawn.
I think you should check our shotgun king if you haven't already
"Respect the unexpected." - Nelson, probably.
In a bad position, play aggressively and give your opponent the opportunity to blunder himself.
So does that mean it was a draw due to insufficient material? Sorry if it’s a stupid question, I’m just trying to understand exactly what happened there
NEVER SURRENDER!!!!
I am 1050 elo and I never surrend. Posibilities of the opponent blundering back, stalemate, losing on time, are so high. Also, when you are ahead is easy to lose the advantage. Nothing harder than win a winning position...
Had a similar game today. Stupidity let my opponent promote and take my queen. But ended up getting a stalemate
My uncle was playing a chess game while handling a diamond back rattlesnake and eating subway. Long story short, by the end of that game he was in prison with a new tattoo and a sixth toe surgically added to his left foot. Anything can happen in a chess game 😤
If you were playing a fast time control stop it - get help.
Damn, looks like I have to watch this every day....
Blundered 3 times what should I do?
Watch it thrice?😢
And I feel bad with my blunders in my 1300 Elo level
I've had games like this
But how is this a draw? His opponent proposed a draw and he accepted it? I don't understand why the opponent didn't lose on time
Nelson I'm blundering all the time. Hahaha
I blundered numerous times today, so should I watch this video numerous times?
I play bullet chess everyday so I can watch this video everyday
Luckily Nelson survived on time!! ⏳⌛
If masters keep playing then us 800s can finish games
After nelsi blunder he probably loose his consentrate. If you blunder your queen and you know it. it’s better you resign for respect.
In classical for sure, but speed chess is different in that regard.
Congratulations
Why was it a draw when his opp ran out of time?
It's a draw if you run out of time? Or did he stalemate you?
If you run out of time but your opponent has insufficient checkmate material(meaning they can't win even if you play the worst possible moves and they play the best) you get a draw
@@00001Htheprogrammer ahh, okay. That makes perfect sense. Thank you.
I don't know, man... I never feel good about this kind of draw. I feel like I'm disrespecting my opponent when I keep playing on after blundering something as high value as a rook or queen because 99% of the time playing on is a complete waste of time. I'm basically telling them to prove that they can convert.
So I end up walking away from the game unhappy, knowing that I deserved to have lost, and I know they walk away unhappy too. I'd rather just suck it up and take the L.
I didn't blunder today and yesterday.😎
Maybe I blundered yesterday and yesterday's yesterday against my cousins.😏
But still I watched this today and I learned some new knowledges.🤠
Miraculously I made 2 blunders and 2 great moves and 1 brilliant move 😂 and won
I stay blundering
If he ran out of time, why was it a draw and not a win/loss?
Because with only a king left, there would have been no way to deliver checkmate, therefore it's "impossible" for him to win. So they call it a draw in lieu of that.
Y'all making 4 blumbers per minute aswell? 😢
Those are rooky numbers
Ha ha, brilliant!
Is this chess tho?
it was nice to not give up
Why its a draw and not a lose on time?
Nelson did not have sufficient material to checkmate when his opponent ran out of time, so a draw.
@@zzzaphod8507 yeah but his opponent had enough material... well, i dont know the rules for something like that.
@@RD-uk6wt If part of the "material" you need is time, then his opponent did not have enough material.
GUYS? why is it draw? Isn't the person having time winning?
Bc Nelson only had a king, so he could never mate his opponent no matter how much time he'd have
@@RafaelFeyenoordfanoh wow. Clever. Thanks
I won't behave like this, I would resign at a must lose position but not make use of time advantage. This is the sportsmanship. Also, I will not defend deeply to win in time, I consider this is another unsportsmenship and cheating action.
How? It is legal.
@@None-if3mo Because you are not winning because you play chess well but because you have a better internet connection, faster reflexes and more accurate mouse than your opponent. The idea that an opposite bishop endgame, for example, can be lost or won like that is especially revolting.
Although I guess people who don't like this concept simply play with a small increment like 2+1 or 5+5.
If there was a title for blundering, i would be the first to receive it
fred dkrst
People who didnt blunder and saw the video!
I'm a crap chess player.
' I blunder my queen for no reason, but I attack, my opponent is 2500 but I attack, he's so smart and I'm not, but I attack, I should have won the game, but I'm so happy with a draw because I attack '...... You sound like a broken record
Or maybe a lyrical genius in the making 😉
I didn't get why is it a draw? When opponent runs out of time, it should be a win, shouln't it?
Let's goooo
Gg
coach, this is why I don't find speed chess any good.
Something like that happen to me today, but if i play that bad I resign and give my opponent the points. it just don''t feel a victory. it's a win. but ... me nah!!
