    The only negative of this lense is the weight, its as heavy as a Nikon D750+18-300mm.
    But shooting at f1 is magic to my eyes! lol! Every photo is so sharp and the background melts away straight jpeg no edits.
    I only have 2lenses, XF50mmf1 which is always at f1 and the Samyang 12mmf2 which is always at f11. lol!

      yes, I agree, the weight of the 50mm F1 lens is really a bummer, but the amount of optics/glass elements in the lens really delivers super good image quality.

    Is the video from 4:49 shot on autofocus or manual focus. Thanks

    Best review I've seen on this lens. I'm using this 50mm F1.0 with X-T5 almost every day and totally agree that no declick option for the apperture ring is pain

    It's funny that I've had this lens for two weeks now but haven't used it yet because I sent off my camera body for repair till next week.
    For now I can only admire the build quality.

    This lens is expensive and heavy and also kills the benefits of apsc mirrorless...

    • @movichris
      @movichris  3 роки тому +1

      Totally agree. It's really difficult to bring out for casual portrait shoots, and I prefer using the vintage 50mm F1.2 lenses on the Fuji, to get shots with creamy bokeh.

    Auto focus is not good for sports or fast moving subjects ,hit rate is no good in low light theater shoots and sports ,this lens is made for portraits and slow down shooting like portraits

    Very helpful video, I have the XT4 and also live in Hong Kong. Any recommendations for a good video lens for the x system?

    • @movichris
      @movichris  2 роки тому

      Thank you for watching! For video lens, you can go for the 10-24mm f4 and 16-80mm f4 if you are a documentary shooter, run and gun. If you need prime lens for video, you can get the 18mm F1.4, 23mm F1.4, and the 33mm F1.4. These 3 prime lenses are good in AF-C performance for video.

    • @NewWaysMedia
      @NewWaysMedia 2 роки тому

      @@movichris thanks for the info, I have the 16-80 which seems like an all rounder. Will look at the primes you mentioned as well.

    I have the 50 F2 and find it quite adequate enough to take any photos and with separation. Not only is it smaller and lighter I can photograph with one hand, something I don’t think I could do with the 50 F1.
    I suggest people check both of them out before spending all that extra money and carrying that weight.
    One man’s opinion who has photographed with Fuji for the last 10 years.

    • @movichris
      @movichris  3 роки тому +2

      The 50mm F2 is a really nice lens for its size, good image quality, and satisfying background blur.

    • @MorningNapalm
      @MorningNapalm Рік тому +1

      I disagree, I think people should buy the f/1 lens without checking out any other lenses. Then when they realise it is too heavy for them, they should sell it to me used for a very nice price.

    Thanks for the video it was quite interesting and informative! But I have a question as a beginner. How do you take photos at F1.0 in bright daylight with only 1/250 shutter and 1600 ISO that don’t overexpose? 😅 shouldn’t it be overexposed with these settings? Yesterday I shot with 56mm f1.2 and in daylight the shutter speed is always like 1/8000 or even higher to get decent exposure😅

    • @movichris
      @movichris  3 роки тому +4

      thanks for watching! I use ND filter to cut the light and shoot at a low shutter speed while keeping the f-stop at f1.0.

    • @derpyderp2516
      @derpyderp2516 3 роки тому

      @@movichris that makes sense! thanks for your answer!
      can you tell what the benefit of a lower shutter speed in this case is?

    • @movichris
      @movichris  3 роки тому +1

      @@derpyderp2516 with a lower shutter speed, I can get motion blur in pictures and video. For pictures, motion blur is useful for capturing light trails and movements. For video, you need to shoot at 1/48th shutter speed for recording 24fps video
