I was working part time while making my first, and also learning obviously, so it took me around 5 months. Only one noticeable piece of scuff though! One wandering line I can't fix now because I was stupid with Onedrive and lost the file :( I think just, y'know, give it the time it deserves (unless you have a client waiting and you've promised them it sooner). Mine was fully rigged with only the exception of glue (I aim to improve this in my next model as better tutorials exist now and I should be able to get it this time around). So I have physics, expressions, a complex design, smooth mouth movements for every vowel, head X, Y and Z, body X Y and Z, you get the idea. I drew everything myself too, though could have separated it better for more fluid movements in the physics panel. Seriously, if it's making you infuriated, or depressed, give yourself the time to de-stress. UA-camrs like this have either become incredibly proficient already, or will put out a very simple/scuffed model because a week isn't enough for a beginner. And we don't see how much it agonised them behind the scenes, either! I promise your model will be better if you choose your most productive and focused hours to make it and give yourself time to take breaks, too. It's more important to take longer and have a final product you are happier with, than have, well, a complete mess you are then stuck with because it still took so long to make that, too 😅
Artist being kind to themselves is like a miracle 😭 please rest I'd wait 4 years honestly so please take your time, work is best when you have a clear mind 💗💚

Not for your first time, but don't worry! Professionals typically finish within a month, some even in two weeks! Learning is what takes so long. Give yourself the time to learn and take breaks so you're happier with your first model, you'll be much happier with the finished product :) Or, if like 4-6 months is too long, you can make a pngtuber! There is zero shame in this and many successful creators and artists alike do this! I myself hope to create pngtubers as a commissions artist some day soon as I don't want to leave clients waiting and have really high prices :'D

Your videos helped inspire me to make my own vtuber models! My first ever one was made when I was very new in my art journey and I really just made it to see how the process was like and get familiar with live2d cubism. It was kind of a mess but it holds a special place in my heart! Almost immediately after finishing the first, I started working on the one I use currently and it took so much brain power and learning to make. The whole process ended up taking more than half a year chipping away at it as much as I can. Honestly felt a little burned out after that whole process, but still ended up trying to improve my art in other ways. I might make a new version of myself sometime this year applying all the new things I learned about art! It’s really nice to see you make your own vtuber model! I know how much work it is now and find it so impressive and inspiring to see your work process. Your art is always so beautiful! Thank you for sharing it always!
In a way, I feel like the process for drawing a vtuber model is a lot like drawing something that your gonna tween because for both, you are going to move the parts to make a 3D effect, just one seems more advanced.
When I go to conventions, I look for OC / original art! I really want that to become more of a thing at cons! I love to see the love people put into their characters!
