  • How does one begin to figure out what is wrong with healthcare? Sometimes it is just by opening your eyes and ears and being a thoughtful empathic personality. This is exactly what Stuart Lackey has done and the characteristics he exudes. Stuart has spent a career in the medical device industry. And in addition to becoming an expert in building sales teams, creating business development strategies, and mentoring young entrepreneurs, he has done his own diagnostic workup on American healthcare and has some pretty good ideas on how to begin to solve the problems facing it today.
    Stuart emphatically offers:
    1. His diagnosis of healthcare delivery.
    2. His treatment plan, which includes developing a cash marketplace to bring patients closer to being consumers.
    3. His opinion on the dual threat of chronic disease and clinician burnout.
    4. The importance of recognizing that anything easy isn't worth doing.
Take a listen. Stuart is an engaging and articulate guest.

I learned a lot from this insightful podcast on the complexity of American healthcare and what could be done to improve it!
Here are some thoughts: One misunderstanding of using insurance appears to be that a lot of people think that they must get more out of it than they paid into it as a premium. Truly a capitalistic way. And not sustainable without increasing premiums.
On the other hand companies in the health care business are there to increasingly make money on serving the customers/patients which is legitimate and also truly capitalistic.
If it is legitimate for companies to look at it from a capitalistic way, how is it not legitimate or wrong for customers/patients to do the same?
    Untangle that….
