    • @konradwielandt3768
      @konradwielandt3768 Рік тому +1

      @@maybefuture You are welcome. Don't want to spoil DesFits review, but so far I like the watch a lot. GPS and heart rate seem to be pretty accurate, and the data analysis in the app is quite comprehensive (this is from only two runs in the park so far though, no difficult environments). Notifications are not very useful imo, tiny font, you get a popup when they arrive, but to read them you need to go into the menu. Also no way to select which apps to recieve notifications from - all on or all off.
      Generally the small b/w display makes it a bit hard to read, especially during workouts. Data pages can be customized, but show a fixed layout of three fields, which results in small font.
      The Casio app seems unfinished, to put it nicely. Random logouts and need to reconnect to the watch, and no data export and sync what so ever. Lets hope they improve on that. Generally you have to like the watch for what it is I guess - a cool G-Shock first, sports watch second. If you expect a Garmin or a proper smartwatch, I think you will be disappointed. Maybe it will get there over time. I will definitely keep it for now and hope for quick updates.

    1 have this watch in the yellow band variant and agree with everything you said. I'm a g shock fan so l'm keeping the watch. The build design and weight are perfect. I will say that I did a bike ride and while gps took like 4 minutes to be acquired, once done it did track my coordinates pretty accurately. Haven't tried running, swimming, or any of the others so can't say how those would function. I did connect my watch to the app and the first thing it did was a software update. So it can receive updates thru Bluetooth on the phone app. Hopefully they keep up with the software updates and can improve the features and functionality of this watch.

      Yup me too, I would not trade durability vs weight because thats the 1st place why I bought GShock for durability, I would still go with stainless steel back plate, yes Carbon fiber is more durable but not on all angles, its a compostie it has a weakness in 1 direction e.g. shocks or falling, thats why I would still go with my H1000, carbon fiber is not good at bending.

    Having owned a GBD-H1000 what all reviewers missed was the fact that the app is hot garbage and Casio did not support or update it. I can't overexaggerate how bad the app is and how it makes the watch completely unusable. You can't even access your fit files or data to export them to an app that actually works. It's just ok! Used it for an indoor Peloton ride and it missed 7 minutes of the ride....took awhile to connect indoors....needs an indoor bike selection. The Garmin Fenix works much better. Too many buttons to push to navigate on the wrist. All things lead back Garmin for me...and Apple of course!

    İ am a trail runner and mountainbiker. İts an original watch. Especially in nature, i do not worry about sctraching, breaking. İts very durable and good looking. Gps capturing is fast even under cloudy sky. İ have used h1000 for 3 years and never charged. H2000's worst side is i cannot share my data on strava !!. İ did not like that. But generally i can trust this watch than suunto and garmin.

      Wouldn't expect much when compared with other G-Shocks.
      When I opened up my H1000 to fix its broken RUN key, the battery I saw inside was 134mAh.
      Use the timer continuesly through the day. And you both sound and vibration.
      When I get out for walking in the mid day, for an hour (under the sun), it kind of took 1.5 weeks to loose two of the charge blocks.
      I'd charge every Saturday, and sometimes it'd loose 3 sometimes 2.
      Though, way way better when compared with real smart watches...

    This is my next watch. They fixed the quirks about the GBD-H1000 that i didn't like. Mainly the size and the way the strap wasn't very flexible, especially at the connection points to the watch. I love a chonky G-Shock watch, but the original was justtoo chonky.

  • @johngorentz6409

    That was interesting. I looked at the manual to see if there is any way to download data to my computer so I can view it in a spreadsheet or get gpx tracks to use in my gis database, etc. The watch I have lets me download gpx tracks, but has no way to download things like heart rate data to my computer, which basically makes it useless except when connected to my bicycle trainer. Viewing it on my smartphone screen is impossible. I'm looking for a watch with an improvement in this regard, and will probably just do without until one comes along.

    Nice review/unbox video.
    Maybe I ask a lot but I would like to know if it is comparable with the _SmartWatch_ of _Apple_ Or there is some insurmountable difference.
    Then, the _G-SHOCK_ are usually resistant even several meters deep and in that they usually have no rivals.
    I would therefore like them to have more functions in that sense.

    • @DesFit
      @DesFit  Рік тому +2

      Considerable differences from an Apple Watch in terms of smartwatch features. Durability is certainly its highlight but a Garmin Instinct is another option in this price range.

    I bought the gbdh1000h for $500 cad over instinct solar which was $200 cad on amazon during covid sales because i was hardcore Gshock fan. One of the worst decisions I’ve ever made, sold it after a year and half for $300 and bought the instinct solar instinct which is much more comfortable, way more functions including navigation and much better app experience. Wouldn’t recommend gbdh series to anyone

    so I ended up getting this watch and overall I really love the watch but the software man it is janky !!! I mean Fitbit My Garmin the software is just light years ahead and not glitchy or goofy. the whole thing with the ads in the app is ridiculous as well. however, all of that being said, I still love it because it's a solid G-Shock watch I'm pretty confident it will take abuse as other G-Shock watches I've had have taken as well. it's an everyday user.
