Couple things 1, does this happen when you try this preamp with other turntables? 2, make sure the headhsell is wired properly (Google “turntable cartridge wiring diagram”) 3, check the RCA polarity from the tonearm to the cables, be sure top left is left channel positive, etc. 4, double check ground cable is wired properly, do not internally ground. 5, double check the cartridge does not buzz by using it on another turntable

Auto return and cueing work but I have to unplug it to stop. Do you have any idea what could be causing this? Thanks in advance!
Hi, the inner mechanism is more than likely all seized up due to dry lubricant. Try using alcohol to remove all the old goop and re-lube. You might have to partially disassemble some mechanical parts to remove all of the old gunk. Good luck!
Have you ever experienced a situation where a semi automatic’s auto return mechanism activates too early? That is when you move the tone arm over, it instantly returns after the platter spins a bit? I have a semi automatic that does that…
Yes! Simply find the adjustment screw usually located near the tonearm base. Find it in the turntables manual. You usually have to insert a long screw driver in and move a screw clockwise for the tone arm lifting up sooner or counter clockwise lift up later.
