We named our baby girl Athena Elenidora! Eleni stands for her grandma on her dad's side which her name was Ellen and Dora was my grandmother which is already a Greek name. My husband is greek so wanted to keep the greek culture. We've received many compliments on Athena.
I agree Phaedra is so underused, despite being so beautiful. I only know one Phaedra and when I first met her, I was taken aback by her gorgeous name, which I had never heard before meeting her. I also love Athan (a great alternative to the popular Ethan) Eryx and Kalika :)

They are! And all of them just sound so powerful as well in the meanings and just very versatile and useable all over the world! So glad you loved the video!!!
I’ve been loving Greek names! I absolutely love Cypress so I think Cyprian is super cool!! And Phaedra is gorgeous 😍 some Greek names I have on my list are Nyx, Io + Memphis 🥰
These were seriously some cool names you mentioned! You're very right Athan comes from Athanasios meaning immortal; great Ethan alternative by the way. Funnily enough, people with the name celebrate their name day today here in Greece! Most of them go by Thanasis or Thanos. The female version is Athanasia. It's a pretty standard name in Greece. Leda and Phaedra are gorgeous! I also love Artemis and think this should be used way more. My grandma is Calliope (although it definitely sounds better in English haha). Calista is also pretty.
7:32 yes, Pallas was the name of a Titan and a Giant whom Athena killed, that is why she was named Pallas. There was also a nymph favored by Athena named Pallas.
I have Valerie on my top 5 list but I keep thinking I can sneak Valkyrie on the birth cert and just use Vali as a nickname. Not sure if I'm that brave!
I'm Greek and so excited to watch this! It's weird that so many of these names are actually not used in Greece. But they definitely make awesome choices in English. Especially because of their meaning or story behind them.
@@NinjagoSenseiWu listen, I’m writing a comment I tried writing a month ago. She was originally the patron of singing before she became sad. I love this name! It is gorgeous. I might use it for one of my daughters, maybe as a middle name. I'm surprised Pallas is so popular for boys because as far as I was aware Pallas was a minor female deity (daughter of Triton, son of Poseidon) who was foster sister of Athena, well until such time (so the most widely accepted myth go at least) as when Athena accidentally killed her one day whilst sparring. Athena as a mark of respect (she made the decision in deep grief) that she prefix her foster sister's name to hers', that's why occasionally when you see her in her armour she is known as Pallas Athena
I had latin classes last year at uni and that is a language we study through Roman comedy plays. And in mine there was this character named Phaedra and I just felt in love with it!
