As an Elvis fan, I thank you so much for your interest in the movie. As a singer, a performer, and as a person Elvis was unique and fascinating. He recorded over 700 songs in many different genres. Gospel was his favorite, and he remembered starting to sing gospel songs at the age of two.

Elvis was TRULY different. Elvis was a jolt to both the YOUTH MOVEMENT in the 50s and CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT in the 50s and 60s. THE top music Legends in the black community during the 1950s and 1960s THAT KNEW ELVIS are on record, and they actually KNEW Elvis personally and professionally:
BB KING: 'Let me tell you the definitive truth about Elvis Presley and racism', The King of the Blues, B.B. King said in 2010. 'With Elvis, there was not a single drop of racism in that man. And when I say that, believe me I should know'. -- BB KING
JAMES BROWN: “I wasn’t just a fan, I was his brother. He said I was good and I said he was good; we never argued about that. Elvis was a hard worker, dedicated, and God loved him … I love him and hope to see him in heaven. There’ll never be another like that soul brother”. --- JAMES BROWN (During Elvis' private family wake, James was the LAST ONE TO LEAVE. 1 hour and 30 minutes later -- it took several of his security guards to help him out of the room. James was devastated -- they sang Gospel together to all hours of the night at each others' homes. James Brown was considered family by the Presley they were so close.)
JACKIE WILSON: "A lot of people have accused Elvis of stealing the black man's music, when in fact, almost every black solo entertainer copied from Elvis." --- JACKIE WILSON (Elvis quietly paid for Jackie's medical expenses until the day he passed away in 1977. Before Jackie's stage accident he would carry a small signed photo of Elvis in his pants pocket. Every day, bar none.)

I always hated when people would say Elvis stole from black culture.....Elvis grew up in Tupelo and Memphis....he helped black music get more airtime. He was a rebel. He bucked the system. He was buddies with BB king! He hated segregation.

Elvis was influenced by many but stole nothing. I hope this movie sets the record straight and treats the greatest entertainer with the respect he deserves. Thanks for your thoughts on this. I hope it reaches out to the younger generation because without Elvis a lot of the music today would not exist. 👍 👑

Elvis was thirteen when his family moved to Memphis, a musically vibrant community particularly rich in gospel singing. Rev. W. Herbert Brewster of the East Trigg Baptist Church, whose songs had been recorded by Mahalia Jackson and Clara Ward and whose stand on civil rights was well known in the community, took Elvis under his wing while in high school. The movie will likely go all in with these facts. Elvis’s version of “Peace in the Valley,” said Dr. Brewster, was “one of the best gospel recordings I’ve ever heard." That film has got Oscar written all over it. It will win 3 Oscars minimum and be nominated for dozens of awards. This real story will make millions of new young fans. Elvis was a YOUTH MOVEMENT more than anything. And that energy turned right into the civil rights movement and changed the world. Austin Butler looks like a young Johnny Depp and he will nab one of those Oscars for sure. This movie just made him a star. I WILL BE IN THE THEATER... no streaming .... on opening night! Bringing the whole family. Driving to a drive in movie theater FOR THE ULTIMATE NOSTALGIA 1st. Then the following week I'll see it in the IN THE highest quality IMAX THEATER we have so I can get the best sound quality experience.

The Blackwood Brothers with Elvis….I naively stated…..”I didn’t know….Elvis sang Religious songs”…..One of them looked at me….And it was like time stopped still….”Valerie….You will never hear anyone sing….a Gospel song like Elvis Presley”…..I have never forgotten that moment…..

Prince, Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury are the three most obvious known artists in our lifetimes that came up and engineered their stage presence and artistic beings in the same vein as Elvis did. They were all studying what Elvis did and put it in their own ways. No surprise they became HUGE LEAD SINGERS. Without Elvis, ALL three would have presented/projected themselves and their acts totally different on stage.

The movie delivering a proper Elvis education to the masses is what his most ardent fans want to see from it. In doing the research for this movie, the director got the information from the actual sources like his childhood friends and in fact, Elvis was the minority. He was also, because of his uniqueness, totally ostracized by his peers and the victim of severe bullying for wearing feminine colors like pink, dying his hair which something only women did at the time, and even wearing mascara. In one of his early tours, the local sheriff told Elvis that if he moved anything but a pinky then he would be arrested so to say he stirred controversy, unintentionally because he knew there was nothing wrong with what he was doing and it was just the times, would be an understatement.

Elvis was raised in tupelo until he was 12 I think . There were 3 white family's in that area . He had lots of black friends his best friend was Sam Bell . Check out his interveiw Baz interviewed him before his death . Also check out Elvis and the black community. He loved black gospel music . Now he gets a bad rap for supposedly stealing black music . He didn't he sang what he listened too.
Now also he gave credit to black artists but lots didn't get paid correctly due to the record publishers and songwriters .
Col Parker like him or not demanded a percentage of the song writes if Elvis sang it . I now can see why .

Hey guys, love your reaction to Elvis, and yes he grew up in a shotgun house in tupelo Ms, they were very poor, Elvis loved going to the Black churches and sing with the choir as a very young boy, that's where he got his roots and he never forgot that. He always said you never walked in that man's shoes, the same God that made you made me too. He always treated everyone with respect and these lessons staid with him until the day he left us. Keep going down the Elvis journey and you will be amazed at all this man has contributed to the world. Elvis was music and we miss him so much and will forever love him. Thanks TCb 1935🤺🤺🤺🤺🤺⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡

Most of the story is true, that is the thing, at this time no artist where allowed to move around on stage, you should stand still and just sing and not even move a finger, but he could not control his Hips...
I think that someone called him Elvis the Pelvis, that really was cruel nickname and Elvis hated it...
Listen to what his mother said:
They want to kill my boy and the man said:
No they wanna f... and yes the girls might have wanted to ... him he he...
By the way, Elvis actually according to his Bodyguard Red West (heard Red say that in an interview), he told him that he was scared of being forgotten, so it happened.
No Elvis did not fire Colonel Parker, he never found out that he was not a Colonel, but he got angry at the hotel when they fired a employ that he liked, I don't know if he said something on stage though...
