This guy was a teaching assistant at my school when I was about 7. We were obsessed with this song when it came out and so proud (obviously a great claim to fame for a school class). We all forgot his name a couple of years ago and have been trying ever since to find it again and we've finally done it!!!! Love you Mr Garratt

It certainly has an emotive hook, not to be condescending, but when you grow up you may discover some Beatles or Pink Floyd tracks that are even deeper.....
I fully agree with you, this song has its own place, I think it's because he means what he sings and that's a rarity nowerdays, honesty is massively underrated!

Just in choosing the term you've already established a distance between yourself and the person you're addressing. If you find Pink Floyd tracks to be universally more attachable, just write that.

seriously, this is the kind of musician we all need to see more of- when he was performing, it was simply shell shocking. you could see that he was so invested in it, he was the music and the music was him. it was like every fiber of his being was just so into the beat and rhythm and just- wow. it was beautiful to watch. so far, his music seems great. thanks tds for finding me more music to obsess over, ha.
