This is an amazing set! Great musicians! I would love to hear Billy talk about how his music evolved into Billy Strings with Billy Failing and the other fine dudes. It sounds to me like Billy traveled a bit thru this music to find his own comfortable voice. It's subtle... his voice is magnificent in any case, but here I hear resonances of decades of previous BG singers. Something that's not so obvious in his current music. He totally owns how he projects. I'm 79, and a HUGE fan!
I am so, so grateful to the algorithm gods for this gift from the past so I can watch the development of what I already know in Billy Strings and understand his history. I've only been aware of this guy's music for about five years and I have never before found such a confluence of incredible guitar skill, songwriting, performing charisma, singing-its unreal. There's been some other great guitar players and songwriters, but not many that check all the boxes. His breadth of songs in his mental songbook alone is staggering.
