Most of the cage kits like that the metal normaly comes with a coating on it to prevent it from rusting clean around the areas your welding with some cleaner before hand then take a small wire brush too them and those weld should come out nice and clean.
I wouldn’t worry what people say, David. Don’t sound like you’re planning on putting this car into any races. If you were, I’m sure it would’ve been at Todd’s shop, or Hamm’s shop to have it welded up, for safety’s sake! Hey, you have to start somewhere, and looks like a great project to learn on! Looking forward to the rest of the build! 👏🏻
okay.... so when do we get a crown vic class to race ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! think about it who ever is winning in points gets to race with them !!how crazy would it be to go out and smoke cleetus and his crew .

I may be wrong, but did you put the hoop in backwards? Isn’t the angled part supposed to go up behind the drivers head?
I thought the same put the diagram they showed on the direction has it the way I put it in. Luckily there were picture directions
