my first brandnew car. same color. same trim. no regrets! and i am very happy with my tucson.
Don't normally comment but I need to for this one. You did an AWESOME job showing real world family situations! We're a young couple that will soon start a family and your video surely helped us gather more info for what we will need in the future. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Thanks a lot! This means a lot... It's exactly what I'm trying to do with this channel.
I like your reviews. Thanks for your good information an unbiased videos.
ultimate explanation of crossover tucson .I am going to have it very soon that earth brown colour
This channel is turning out to be quite the hidden gem of yt. Keep it up. Your doing well!
+alan4657 Very kind of you to say. Thank you!
dam, that looks way better than old Tuscons!
+tigerbalm I'm with you. Way nicer ride too.
Paul, your reviews are maybe the best out there.
Very kind of you to say, Rob. Thanks for watching!
And I've been driving my 2016 Hyundai Tucson Limited 1.6T for over a week and it's amaaaaazing! But I understand what Paul has mentioned about the lag when accelerating from a stop, it's so obvious that you feel like the vehicle is too heavy. But otherwise, I love it!
Nice review. am watching from korea actually lol. The video just pointed everything i wanted to know as i got a starting family. Now i'm considering '16 tucson and kia all new sportage that just released couple of months ago in Korea. Hope you can also review sportage when it is available in Canada.
+Jack Choi Thanks for watching, Jack. I'll see if I can get my hands on one for you.
Very nice review to. You could mention the hands free auto hatch open. And the 3 position ride normal sport and economy.
+thearoom Thanks for the note... it's hard to fit all the features into a review, but you're right, those are some great parts of the kit as well.
great review. Thanks. I am honda fan for a long time because of its reliability. How reliable this car for 5-7 years’ time frame?
+Tarin Shah I have many friends with Hyundai cars/SUVs who've seen excellent reliability over the long-term. The industry-leading warranty doesn't hurt either. Thanks for watching!
All turbos lag....unless you build them up at launch....this is a EXCELLENT car....i took a sport right after the test drive.....i love it!!!....Hyundai is giving them away right now....
Did you get it fixed?
no the tranny still sucks and does the same stuff now that im at 25k even after they had a recall on the ecu programming. had it flashed and it seemed nice for a few hundred miles and then it started up with the same crap it did before... almost like it reset itself....dunno... getting rid of it as soon as the lease is up and will never look at another hyundai again....
Gotcha, sorry to hear that man.
Is this the dual clutch 7 speed fitted with the 1.6 Turbo Engine?
Sounds like _maybe_ clutch wear, which can still happen in a DCT even after the ecu updates. Ime software never just 'reverts' once updated in non volatile media.
Personally I don't think DCT is for everyone, especially since the damn thing looks just like an auto to the driver. But if driven like an auto, especially at low speed, it'll eventually burn out the clutch just like a manual, only worse, since it's the computer fighting the tranny.
I hope Hyundai is refining their DCT to reduce the risk of damage, take the onus off the driver.
great review. how would you rate this compared to other vehicles such as forester/crv/cx-5?
Better rear legroom in the CRV. The new CX5 is great bang for buck too. But with the noisy cabin and rough ride fixed, this is great value and feels solid. You'll pay a lot more for a Forester but its resale is good and the AWD is world class.
Base model in Canada is $24,400; The Premium model with 1.6T engine is $33,100 - That's a big jump in price if you want the turbo....then there's the Ultimate Model (top) at $41,400 - A lot of money for a small SUV
I live the mocha starbucks type color
Can I ask... The car you show most driving, Is this the Ultimate Red colour? It looks amazing! They didn't have this colour in the dealership when I visited a few days ago :-(
I'm considering 'upsizing' my car again, and have now narrowed it down a 2015 CX5 Sport Nav 2.2 D Sky-active diesel (the range topper trim in UK), or this new 2015 Hyundai Tucson Premium SE 2.0 diesel (again range topper in UK). Have now test-driven both and the Mazda feels much better to drive and connected to the road, but the Tucson has more kit included as standard (here in the UK anyway) and is a good drive also. But being relatively new on UK market compared to CX5, I'm a little worried. Which car would you recommend?
+Dominic Joseph That's tough for me to say, Dominic. Especially since we don't have the diesel engines in Canada to compare them directly for you. Both have great warranties and standard kit. I think Hyundai generally has a higher quality feel but it ultimately comes down to you.
Thanks :)
personally was also having such a hard time between both of those cars. Ultimately, just this week I decided on the Tuscon after 2 test drives of each. I much preferred the feel of driving the CX5 however, I found it lacking everywhere else but the driving performance. The lack of features for anyone in the car but the driver was too severe. I feel like the 2017 CX5 will be much improved or maybe the 2018. But the 2016 feels like its missing a few things and thats why I choose the Tucson. I feel like all around it offers the most
Can you do a review for the 2016 Chevrolet equinox ltx. I'm stuck between this car and the chevy. I also have a growing family and your videos are awesome
+Wakeup2Makeup Thanks! I'll see if I can get my hands on one for you.
+Family Wheels Thank you I appreciate it
I have one. Except for the pick up off the line it's really really nice..
+thearoom Glad to hear you're liking it. Too bad about that lag.
Wait how old are you
this exact vehicle with same engine is the best selling new vehicle in Germany so I guess Hyundai really has come a long long way
hi what about the 2L diesel engine, how is it compare to 1.6
It's not available in Canada, unfortunately. Diesels are often not available on this side of the pond.
The 1.6 Turbo is designed to kick in @ 1500 RPM and stays until 4500 RPM. So the "lag" is built in for "normal" city take-offs. Overall, good review, very informative.
+Steve Bokleman Thanks for watching, Steve. I found if I didn't really stomp on it, this new Tucson was very smooth, refined and fun to drive.
Good to hear. I just ordered a Caribbean Blue Sport. 😊
Fantastic. Curious, Steve, because of your affiliation with Hyundai, how are you trained to say the brand's name?
The name in the US is pronounced like "Sunday". You will hear it pronounced in other countries where it sounds something like "High-un-Day". I have been following Hyundai and Kia long before I went to work for an affiliate. I recall the first Kia Sportage (~1993) and loved the design of the compact 4x4. I also followed the original Suzuki Samurai until it was taken off the market. I'm excited about the re-designed Tucson as it is now "all grown up" and looking sharp. I might be a bit biased, but it has been a fantastic journey watching the progress of Hyundai and Kia line grow to the fantastic level it has reached. I'm looking forward to my time with the 2016 Tucson.
Note: There are NO engine "choices." The engines are specific to models along lineup. Most get the 1.6T but there are no alternate choices on these or the other models. Fair enough?
+Coupydog There are two choices: a naturally aspirated 2-litre and a 1.6-litre turbo. Yes, they're packaged together with trim levels... but that's still a choice at time of purchase. Does that makes sense?
😍😍😍😍
It's actually a 10 yr 100,000 mile warranty .
Not in Canada. US customers get it better. Thanks for watching.
In the US, That’s the powertrain warranty. The basic bumper to bumper warranty is 5 years/60,000 miles
I thought it was "Hun Day"??
I would if I could
I LOUW VOU HYUNDAI Tucson 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Surely it can be beaten on a the 5 year garranty, Mitsubishi outlander doubles it.
Yes, that Mitsubishi warranty is pretty untouchable. Good point. Thanks for watching.
The test of the interior was good but wish you could have given the exact volume of the cargo area.
The 1.6t is slow................................. The 2.0T with 274hp is light years beyond this lemon.
+Sean You racing your entry level suv's, eh?
you're too tall for tucson.. get a bigger suv if you are 6footer...
+Edward Reyez Thanks for watching, Edward. I don't think I'm too tall... perhaps for the back seat but otherwise, it can work for a tall driver pretty well.
Please learn to pronounce the name of the car company if you are doing a car review.
Don't tell me. You pronounce it HUNDAY. If so, you are wrong. It's HeeUnDie. And it's Aluminium not Aloominum

+RooMan you can call it whatever you want but it sounds stupid in front of people who know where the name stems from.
Each country has different official pronunciation - it's up to dealership. Czech dealer decided to change the pronunciation closer to the original Korean one but even after years, people are fighting it and mocking them. Funny thing is - Slovak language is close to our, we receive TV broadcast and in advertisements they still use the same pronunciation as we used...
+Doug N. Hi Doug, that is how our tacky American Society decided it should be pronounced in the mid 80's. The advertisers decided it would be 'catchy' & easy2 remember, so they kept at it. Most Americans would agree with you. Actually, the way this guy said the name is correct. Koreans spell out names in English utilizing their "sounds" when they say the name. It is a three syllable word.
