Is this site using ACOL conventions? I apologise but so no UA-cam sites don't establish what convention they are using.

I don't think knowing if it is acol or sayc makes a difference here.

@@greendeane1 1NT might require fewer hcp in Acol, but think Joan plays a "strong" 1NT in any case

Joan did mention that we knew declarer had 15 to 17 points. So, not ACOL in this case.
