I hav a doubt but a good one,u n many said about swell n shrink of water inside boiler,n u said that due sudden steam load the water swells n thus gives high level n vice versa,my point is that the level transmitter measures the head(weight of liquid) of the level inside boiler ,if at certain constant pressure, temperature and flow if theres a sudden load pickup the costant volume of water swells but at that instant the mass remains the same so how come the level transmitter reads higher level when the mass of water remains the same n just the volume swells,in other words if i boil 1 ltr of water at 100 c by clossing the lid and suddenly opening it the water swells but the wieght or mass remains the same or may be less,that means the force applied at the bottom of the vessel will always remains the same no matter how much the water expands or swells this particular finding is true but its very contradictory to the practical of the boiler cud plz elaborate and clear this doubt of mine that hows that possible, when volume of water increases the weight of the water also increases.

When the demand of steam suddenly increase then it will creates the drum level high but because the steam present in the drum suddenly gone at this position the water supply should decreases, as per logic but this will get rectified by the steam flow data.
Bubble size is affected by pressure, so if a boiler experiences a sudden extra demand for steam, its pressure drops. The drop in pressure causes the steam bubbles in the boiler water to expand, and the level measurement can show an increase in level.
