- I give you a short description of one of the greatest snare drums ever made. From their introduction in the early 1960's to their meteoric rise as one of the most recorded and giged drums.
Early version called Prototype 60-61 those are welded, comes with orange peel shell, crimped beds also
Absolutely, thanks for the back up. I’ve owned one in the past.
Thanks for your video. I did subscribe to your channel but I am curious, what does Suuavacito mean? Is it your name? I don't speak much Spanish, sorry. There was a song with that name by a band called "Malo". I think it was Carlos Santana's brother. I love that song, one of my all time favorites. I bought a Black Galaxy 5" in very good condition 10 years ago. It's my favorite of the Acros.
Thanks for subscribing that means a lot. suavecito translates to gentle. I had a black galaxy as well. They’re great snares for sure. Thanks again for the great question.
@@vazquez808 And your first name please? Thanks, I will continue watching your great videos.
Great video ! I just found one at a garage sale for $20 with a stand. The resonant hoop has squared openings and the internal muffler felt is red. Can you tell me what year it would be ? Thanks
The red felt would tell me it’s between 63-64. If you send the serial number i can for sure give you a year. But there is a good chance that your snare is pre serial
@@vazquez808 thank you for getting back to me, the badge does have a serial number it is 65050, thanks for your help.
Why didn’t you play it
Great question, i don’t have a proper set up for good representation of the drum. But if you guys want I can still play it
