Bro I am in 12th class and I was hyped for jet engine and I searched UA-cam and find all crap some of which was useful but 95% crap but your video helped me. I just wanna say thank you sooooooooo much. Keep the good work up. Hey please reply if you have time OK 👌

Fascinating. Worked in aviation for a few years. Always loved planes. Hope to get back into scale modeling and build simulated engines. Wish i could hang out with you all day. Lol..

I admire the intent of your project, I am just a little concerned that you get enough air flow through those small intake holes.

This is so useful. I have been researching this topic and trying to start building myown engine for months but no one has ever really showed the inner workings of engine that RUNS.

But where's the second half of the video?? With the thing working?

Nice work! Until seeing your engine I would not have thought it possible to make such an engine from such simple parts. I also appreciate your detailed explanations and descriptions of the components and their operation.
    Well done!

do you think the impeller and turbine from a turbocharger would work better in this application?

  • @rowgler1

The things you do are amazing. I know about a lot of this stuff, but you actually build your own prototypes. Quick and dirty gets it done. Thats the way to learn. Then improve on the weak links as they show up.

correct me if i'm wrong, but the upper and lower blades of the diffusor seem to be angled in opposite directions. The upper half look as if it was made to turn clockwise, the lower part the other way. Does that matter, or is it just supposed to somehow force the air outwards to the diffusor ring?

  • @TheSparkart

Where do you learn this? Are there like schematics online that you look at, do you buy a engine and break it open, or do you learn it from a "how jet engines work" textbook and go off that.

could this be reconfigured to be a dynamo? make it run on Hydrogen. surround it with mags and copper windings etc, see if output is useful or economic as a dynamo

About valved pulse jets- what if to maximize simplicity you used a tesla valve instead of those metal valves

  • @elwindewitte

Would it be relatively easy to make a turbofan jet engine out of this one? Or do you have to redesign the whole to do that?

    • @MrTeslonian
      @MrTeslonian  8 років тому +3

Building a turbofan is the goal from this design, it still needs at least one more drive turbine blade, and the first stage multi-blade fan compressor that precedes the two stages shown in this film. In a turbojet engine only a portion of the compressed air produced goes to the combustion chamber, a good portion of the air is used to cool the engine. If you can get your turbojet efficient enough to attach the big fan blade to, and create a turbofan engine then 70% of the trust will come from the fan blade and only 30% from the turbojet (if you could engineer the engine on the same level as GE).

Its ugly, but it's cool. I even learned a few things. Now if you had a lathe and mill you'd be really dangerous.
You can find a small lath for about 1,500 or 3k and a Bridgeport Mill for 2-3K rebuilt.
Why do you need CNC you don't just a good indexer and a turret lathe.
Are there more Jet motor designs? This one seems kind of basic.
