Good advice. If there's one piece of advice I could give anyone studying for the Comptia A+ exam, it's to take your time. Don't rush trying to take the test. Take as much time as you need to learn all the material before you take your test.
Thank you! After he said he studied for 6 weeks, and 2 weeks, I felt discouraged because I am already almost 2 months in and don't plan to take the core 1 for another month.
Man I needed this.. I got an average of 85 over the 3 messer tests but I kept hearing about Dions tests, but they reallllly threw me for a loop and broke my confidence.. then I noticed there were more rhan a few questions that had no business in a core 1 practice test..
@Prophecy thanks man. I've been at it for about a month now, and after retaking one of Messers tests, I only got 5 questions wrong ! Thankfully, it's been a couple of weeks since I took it the first time, so I didn't remember any of the questions. I'm thinking I'll go ahead and schedule my test for next week so I can't keep second-guessing myself lol
@@Prophecy_Gaming Just re-watched the video. You said you get 120 minutes for 70 or 80 questions. Per Jason Dion's study videos the test is 90 questions and you get 90 minutes for both core 1 and core 2 exams.
Thanks for the great advice. I’m going to school to get my bachelors degree in healthcare coordination management and I wanted to take this course over the summer level one and level two so I can put it on my résumé and get more experience with working with security and medical records and data with HIPPA compliance. This is very helpful. I know nothing about the IT industry.
I failed with a 631 and needed a 700. I don’t think it’s a test for people without experience yet they require experience to gain experience. It’s one of those fields you get by chance.
How many performance based questions were on the exam? Being a guy trying to completely switch my career and having no tech background, the questions I'm getting good with but a little nervous about the PBQ's... How many did you experience and what kinda things did they ask you to do? I'm currently trying to find the best way to get hands on/ lab experience. Please and thank you!
They had 2 performance e based questions for me at the beginning. The rest was multiple choice. Go find professor messer and watch his videos, and use his tools he created.
I'd also recommend purchasing Jason Dion's two sets of practice exams on Udemy. There are 6 90-question practice tests for both the 1101 and 1102, the scores for your attempts are logged and show you exactly what topics you need to study more. They also have emulated PBQ questions, most of which are "Identify the component labeled 'B' ". Udemy has a sale every two weeks, I think both courses were like $12 each.
Great video and really helpful,I have been practicing on Dions practise exams, based on these practice exams do you think the questions were harder and more complicated in the actual exam compared to the dions practise exams ?
The messer videos are a great way to become fully introduced to everything. Between his tests and practice tests, you’ll have a really good chance to pass the test!

He offers notes you can buy. If your employer is paying I would recommend buying them. I did not take notes really, I did write out all the objectives on the list. And write answers to each objective. This was my "notes".

Each time the test is updated, the material is changed. So as long as you’re studying the right version you’re fine.
Is the exam available online?
Exam can be taken online, however they have very strict rules that need to be followed.
I didn’t even know they offered it offline

I would say depends on your knowledge. If you're new to IT, 2 months. If you're experienced it can be like 3-4 weeks.

please where do i take some notes
In the description I have links to professor messer. A great resource to study. And other quizlet notecards.
Would you recommend the ITF+ exam prior to taking the A+?
Never taken it or heard much about it. A+ is pretty generic, I would just do that.
@@Prophecy_Gaming It's apparently good to take ITF+ prior to A+
For the first test 1101 would you say a lot of cloud and command line stuff is on there?
No, basics at most.
Is it multiple choice
Yes! There are 2-3 questions that are case study’s.
Is this the recent updated CompTia A+? I was told by my university they have just updated the exam test so they had to update there study :(
Most of the topics are the old test. Principles of how to study and the base material remain the same.
