you're like the Bob Ross of sewing...I love it 🥰😌
I 100% agree with this. I could watch her all day.
bob betsy ross
Agreed❤
Hahaha yes 😂 I thought hmmm who does she remind me of 😂
perfect description :) love it
I was seriously so sad 'cause i had a little hole in my favorite pair of warm leggings that my partner's mom gave to me. You literally saved them! I think for my first time I did a fairly decent job. Your instructions and visuals were very easy to follow. Thank you so much!
I feel youu!!
I looked at several videos to find one that looked manageable for repairing holes in my two daughters leggings and this was *the* best tutorial. Perfect for a beginner like me: clear, close up, and efficient. I just repaired three holes in my kids leggings and feel incredibly proud. Thank you!
We're so glad to hear it! This technique can take a few tries to pick up but it sounds like you learn fast!
Hi! Would like to check if you stitched from the inside or the outside. Thank you!
This was the most helpful instruction I’ve found for fixing my yoga pants as a total sewing newbie. Thank you.! Fantastic nails, too, by the way!
We're so glad you liked it, this one has taken a while to perfect so its exciting to share!
Thank you for the clear, quick instructions. This repair job on a big hole in a cheap pair of cotton leggings was way better than my past attempts when I've just sewed with no guidance or plan! Really satisfying too at the end because I had an exact colour match (black) so you can barely see anything there now!
Thank you so much for this! I bought a leggings and later on discovered that it had holes right on the butt (and couldn't return it anymore) and I've been putting off sewing the hole because I didn't know how. Now I'll get on it!
Thank you Shea! I just ripped my new leggings while stretching at the gym and I was so sad but then I Googled your channel. I’m goin to repair them once I calm down. Thank you. ❤
Thank you so much for the clear step by step. I know nothing about stitching, and the last hole in my leggings I tried my best but ended up with an obnoxious knob on my thigh 😅. I sat on something sharp and ended up with a hole on the butt of another pair and didn’t want to give it the same treatment haha.
Your voice is so relaxing..reminds me of being a little kid going to doctors and the nurse giving me a quick check-up once getting into the room 😴🫠
Ps. Thanks for helping me sew my beloved 12 year old heart boxers
Great information! Ripped some compression gear i liked and was not sure there was a way to fix the pieces without compromising the stretch!
Thank you!
When I struggle to sleep, I always wathing this video, the voice is so nice and calm.
Thanks for the complete instructions from beginning to the end. Saved my leggings 😂😁
Thank you so much! Very helpful and have saved a pair of leggings already! 🎉
Thank you so so so much! I ripped my favorite leggings and this was so helpful. Thank you. 😊
Thank you 🥹. I tried stitching them up using two different methods and they came undone as soon as i put them on and walked around. Im definitely going to try this
Thank you! I live in leggings, and every single one has holes now-so they are all waiting for me in the sewing room. This will help them look less like a hack job than they were going to look, thanks!
I literally love you so much. My 9week old puppy ripped a hole in my favorite leggings, and I was about to freak out until I decided to google how to fix the hole and found your video. So thank you !!!
Your channel has the best repair tips ever. When I take in or make pants/jeans I prefer to insert elastic from side seam to side seam giving a gentle distribution. This is my personal method for myself. Obviously someone bringing in pants/jeans to tailor repair doesn’t want it to be an obvious repair.
I'm an aerialist and my leggings sprout new holes every few months. I repaired three pairs using this method and I'm a total sewing newbie - the repairs are holding up very well and they're hardly noticeable. Thank you so much for this tutorial!!
Literally, she has a calm voice and is patient in the video like she was helping me individually ...I needed this video I cannot keep throwing away leggings 😫 I love so this fix is beautiful thank you for sharing ❤️
This was so helpful, thank you!! Just stitched up my favorite shop leggings and I’m so happy
Thank you!! I just today received my cute workout shorts and they immediately snagged and made a small hole....ARGH!! These were from Australia and I'd been waiting, plus, not cheap. I think I can save them with your technique. I can't wait to try it. Much appreciated !! 🙂😘
Are they the Women’s best workout leggings? Because that’s the same issue I’m having and why I’m on UA-cam trying to fix it lol. They’re so expensive and i love them
You're saving my life!! Thank you so much. Also, I love how soft spoken you are
Thank you!!!! My kids hate tags so I cut the tags off and this particular morning I was in a hurry and these were BRAND NEW 😭😫 I cut a tiny hole and I just wanted to cry! This is why I bought new ones in the first place. So thank you!!!! This is so doable….. unless you just made this look really easy lol I’ll definitely let you know! Thanks ❤
Is this just regular thread? What kind did you use?
Thank you. I fixed all my leggings this way! The instructions were so good.
Omg I freaking love your nails
Thank you!!! Now off to fix the hole in my son's football pants
Hello I would like to ask if you start stitching from the inside or the outside of the leggings. Thank you!
I had the same question.
This was so quick and easy! I was able to sew the inseam on my leggings before going to the gym!
Such an easy to follow and wonderful video to fix my favorite pair of leggings. You made my day, thank you so very much :)
This is a lifesaver! My grade school daughters wear nothing but leggings and they get holes in the knees so often.
I just used this on my Lululemon speed up shorts- you can't even tell I snagged the fabric while trying to cut the built-in underwear out. This is seriously a game changer. I have no experience in sewing - this is god sent.
Thank you so much! This was the best and clearest sewing tutorial I have ever watched, I appreciate you so much!! My joggers are ready to go!
Thank you so much! I’m going to try this now. You just saved my favorite swim pants!
Great instruction - best I've seen so far on UA-cam. I'm going to use this technique to repair crotch holes in my polyester Adidas running pants. I'm not clear, however, how to "knot it off in the back". Is the knot actually on the outside of the pants? And is there any way to reinforce the inner crotch of polyester material? Cotton adhesive patches tend to fall off with washing. Thanks so much!
She was working on the outside of the pants so when she tied the knot, she stuck the needle through and turned the pants inside out to make the knot on the inside. It probably would have been more clear if she’d done the demonstration on an intact pair of leggings instead of a little scrap.
To reinforce athletic wear, you can buy similar fabric and stitch it in, instead of using woven iron-on patches. Try the “stretch” zigzag stitch on a machine if yours has it - regular zigzag if not. If you don’t have a zigzag machine or you find the stitching rips out, you can buy stretch thread (NOT elastic) and use it to wind your bobbin with. I do not recommend attempting this repair by hand because the hand stitches that allow for stretch are generally not sturdy enough for athletic wear, and the hand stitches sturdy enough for athletic wear are generally not stretchy. If you don’t have a sewing machine, don’t know anyone who has one, and don’t want to buy one, I would suggest you ask your local sewing store if you could use a floor model. They may let you and even help you as long as it doesn’t become a habit. Some public libraries also loan out sewing machines.
Good to know that what I put together myself is actually a good approach to take. Though of course I got some nice pointers from you on how to best hide the stitches and knot it off. thank you
Thanks so much for this super helpful video! My 11 year old daughter is so hard on her clothes; she puts holes in the knees of everything!
Literally just saved a pair of used oner active shorts I purchased by mistake bcus they had a hole. Thanks!!!
Thank you. I can’t wait to try this.
Beautiful! And your nails? Gorgeous! Thanks for the video! ❤❤
So, what thread did you use for this? Stretchy thread or just normal thread?
Just normal thread; I would suggest a medium weight like 25 TEX, polyester blend is fine and stretch is definitly not necessary.
Thankyou for showing us this video, very helpful 😊😊😊😊 I had a huge knot in my leggings and they were brand new 😱😱😱
i could listen to you for ages
I will never stop missing being able to call my gram for mending advice, but your videos are a wonderdul supplement ❤❤ thank you!
Thank you sooo much! I've just been able to repair my favourite pair of Kyodan leggings! I was heartbroken when I ripped them on a bamboo seat at a coffee shop!
❤❤❤
This was so helpful! thank you for what you do!!!!
Thank u so much!!! The first one is so much easier!!!!
Mine is kinda ugly but at least no more holes.
Thank you for this ❤ also, love your nails ⭐️ 🌙
Thank you so much!! You just helped me save my tights! Thank you!
Your voice is so soothing 😍
Thanks for making this video, it helped me fix my favorite leggings :)
Any recommendations on type of thread to use??
Excellent tutorial. Thank you.
Very helpful will be doing this for my Gucci tights!!
Do you recommend using a stretchy thread?
Thank you for the help. I need to fix my leggings
Worked wonderfully! Thank you.
Could you do a tutorial on fixing. A small hole in a dress shirt or pants?
thank you so much, I’m going to go try this now 😊
do I stitch it when the leggings are inside out? Or just normal
Thank you, very helpful. Also wondering if this technique would work well with a small hole in wool leggings (not really athletic wear).
We often use this technique for most small holes regardless of fabric type, I would just suggest that the lighter the fabric weight, the lighter the thread weight you should use. I am using a tex 30 in this video which is a standard poly-cotton blend.
Thank you.. will try this now.. tore my best pair of leggings 😢
Thank you, very helpful!!
Is there a more in depth video for how you knot it off when you're done? (Yeah, I'm a noob) I can't tell what you're doing exactly.
Can you do the same way with jeans or any kind of material
What if the hole is quite a bit bigger, and needs a patch? How do you do put that on 4-way stretch fabric?
Excuse me, what size needle do I need for this particular mend?
I know this is old but did I miss when you made the loop on the bottom
Great video and you have a great voice. Just a little slower on the knotting off at the end please 😁
Very helpful. How much do you charge a customer for a repair job like that?
Usually just $7!
Oh yeah 😎. Need to sew/repair 2x 🕳 holes in a pair of Black Spandex
Pearl izumi Bicycle 🚲 shorts. Glue?iron on? 😊 thanks
Heey! Idk if you're gonna reply, but would this work even on the knee part of the leggings? 'my' hole is also more shattered, i guess you could say, rather than an insition kind of hole so do you think it would work on that as well? I hope you reply!
You can certainly try, but if the fabric is truly shredded then stitching is not going to repair threadbare fibers and it maybe time for a new pair of pants! The worst you can do is try and if it doesn’t hold and youll find out you do need to replace them, might as well give it a go!
Will this also work for workout leggings with a knitted fabric?
Absolutely, that’s probably one of our main uses for it!
Good stuff!
the knotting off part was confusing, had to look somewhere else for help
Thank you for this 😊
Would this work for a 2 inch hole on the knees? I fell in my favorite pair of leggings and I wanna fix them up nicely!
Yes it should! Because it’s a long hole it might still weaken over time but it’s certainly worth a shot!
Thanks 😊
YALL I LOVE THIS VIDEO YALL need to subscribe and like and comment on this video it helped me a lot ❤️
How would you repair a hole in that same type of seam on leggings, where the fabric separated?
I am actually repairing a hole in leggings in this video, so it would be exactly the same regardless of where the hole is located.
Do I flip the pants the inside out?
I have a large L-shaped tear in my leggings. Would this work for something like this?
Yes! I would just continue to turn the corner with the same thread nodding off at either end, if you knot off in the center of the corner it’ll probably weaken that spot so just keep going!
I always get holes in my leggings bums from sitting on rocks... I need to try this.
Do you sew the legging inside out ?
It depends, typically yes but depending on the fabric sometimes I looks better from one side versus another so you have to test it a little!
Thank you!! I just got a hole in my brand new leggings on my butt of course😂
What kind of thread is that?ty
Gutermann Mara 120 - Tex 30 poly cotton blend
Tore my fav leggings 2 seconds into a volleyball scrimmage bc i forgot my knee pads, hope i can save them 🥲
Am I really looking at pants, though?
did it the wrong way by watching a different video. should have come here first!
Tq madam
OMG her nails!
Soooo they’re stickers and I LOVE them! Regular polish doesn’t stay on and I don’t like to have my nails done professionally because I use my hands so much that just ruined them anyway so these stickers are my favorite thing in the world 🤍
You don't even say what type of string you are using lol
You are a goddess 😫...thank you💗💗💗
I'm so confused, I can't see, and this isn't a me issue. I'm 26. Are you stabbing through the outside of the fabric to make these small stitches? You keep saying back through the hole. The hole is on both sides of the fabric. I'm literally so confused.
Not confusing at all. She is going underneath the fabric and coming up through. So on the inside (where her finger is) out through the outside oof the fabric
If you haven’t had someone tell you they love you 3 mins into meeting you, I’ll be the first
Why are you whispering?
A hole in leggings? Let that be a sign that they should never be worn in public. I wouldn't even wear such hideous things as pyjamas.
Girl I did this and your technic messed up my leggings!!!! You don’t sew on the freaking outside. When I did it on the inside it looked much better
🤯
