Mr Ryan, the actual solution is the same with terrorism in airplanes, air marshals:
      - Airports..armed guards.
      - Airplanes..armed guards.
      - Banks..armed guards.
      - Jewlry shops..arned guards.
      - Private schools..armed guards.
      - Private neigbohods..armed guards.
      In Europe :
      - Public places.. armed guards/military.
      - Airports.. armed guards/military..
Why tgere cant be armed guards in public schools??

I live across the street from an elementary school. I'm a retired military type. I and my dog watch and will actively protect those kids. If that means going kinetic, I'm prepared to do that. God knows I hope and pray that day never comes but, if it does I'm prepared to act. This young man is spot on. A protector is part of who you are. It's part of your moral makeup.

A study from prisons showed that convicted felons who target other people: Over 51% of the criminals said they were afraid of being stopped or shot by their victim. (Because they know that Police have to follow more rules/force continuum steps before shooting) "Arms are the true badge of liberty, Possession of arms is the distinction of a free man OR woman from a slave." - Andrew Fletcher.

Yet school shootings happen at schools known to have cops. Even better, in Texas (Uvalde), the state all Republicans idolize as a shining example of manhood … 376 heavily armed officers, including a SWAT team, sat by while children were massacred. One guy with a gun, versus a larger force than defended the Alamo. Yet all those guns didn’t magically make it stop.
The US is the only civilized nation on earth where this is routinely a problem, despite being the most heavily armed. Yet, we sit around and pretend to be stupid when we discuss viable solutions.

It hasn't been officially documented, I don't think, in a peer-reviewed piece, but the truth is a lot of shootings happen when the perp is either starting or coming off of psychotropic drugs. These drugs promise help, but they lead to long term harmful effects, not actually healing the person.

Then explain this to me , since guns have always been available , including semi auto rifles like the M1 carbine made in the millions in 1944 , where were all the mass shootings back them ? Don't you think the horrors of WW2 especially the Pacific theater caused PTSD among the servicemen , yet they came back and built America . So why since the 90's have there been an onslaught of people with mental health problems including those that now want to be infamous and do mass shootings ? Maybe because they have been coddled to the point they can't take any failure and always see themselves as victims and therefore feel it is OK to strike out .
This is an issue with the way society operates now using mental illness as an excuse and drugs that fry peoples brains are OK to use . We have lost our way and now everyone is a victim .

A lot of schools throughout the country are hiring “School Guardians” (AKA Safe School Officer). For those who don’t know or have no knowledge on what is a School Guardian; they are highly trained armed security officers that must go through a sheriff’s office academy training specifically trained in arms, medical, and how to stop an active shooter successfully.
I do agree, a $13 / hr regular security guard does not have the training that these schools need to stop an active shooter, however School Guardians or Safe School Officers, have the knowledge and skills to face such threat.

So what about you? Where you around during CP? I may be lit older so do you got any knowledge of people killing anyone or shooting up a school? If you know of one person that maybe has murdered someone that did not have CP, not going to say I win, but is there a chance that the old ways sometimes may be a little better? But I got some friends that would never let a teacher or a school Guardian correct their child. I’ll tell you having trained with quite a few officers, most of them only have the weapons training they received while at the academy, just 40 hrs. That is very lacking. On top of that many officers aren’t Gun people. I believe school staff in Florida have to have 150 hrs of active shooter specific training then practice together on a regular basis as shooting skills are perishable.

I love this guy no BS talking points, just truth. I went to school in the late 60's 70's and early 80's college. When I went to high school, a large school, 2500 or 3000 students, no school shootings, no medal detectors, so security, anything that happened like a kids fight, teachers handled everything. No school mass shootings. We had fire drills not mass shooting drills. For instance in 1975 there was 1 mass shooting in the entire United States and it all happened in one family. Society has changed. School mass shootings esp elementary school mass shootings as horrific as they are, are still relatively rare compared to all the other homicides in the US. There are usually red flags that are ignored. There are common sense solutions to school mass shootings, all the other 99% of homicides in the US is an even bigger societal problem, but except for the outliers in mass murder causality events like the killing of the kids in at the University of Idaho, most of the homicides happen in inner cities.

    1. Helps their transition to civilian life by providing work, stability, and purpose
    2. Provides protection to schools by individuals that you know are trained and will run at the gunfire to protect innocents
    3. Is likely cheaper (and far more practical) than a gun buyback

I'm all for layers of protection for schools. Limited access, metal detectors, maybe students have an id card to swipe. Most of the school shooters weren't even supposed to be on the premises. But what we really need to be looking at is the proliferation of SSRI's and other psychotropic drugs that have been prescribed to kids in a major way, beginning in the 90's, which coincidentally is when these shootings started to become more frequent. In almost all of these shootings, the perpetrator has been on one form or another of these powerful mind altering drugs. But....Big pharma really doesn't want that.

For jr high, high school, and college, train as many students as possible to respond, in door blockades, disarming, trauma first aid, etc. Students need to qualify in character, academics, and physical readiness. Students participate in trainings, scenarios, etc. Then you have hundreds of students ready to respond in the school. This along with taking a group of qualified teachers through a specialized police training, they are then deputized undercover police officers, while also being teachers or other staff.
But like Kyle says, the moral degradation of our country is the root cause here.

    • @richardbossman9875
      @richardbossman9875 Рік тому

I agree this training could be helpful, but only if the students actually care to pay attention and get a chance to practice these steps often. Also, because you would be training students you would potentially also train a person or persons would intend to cause harm, thus giving them the know you how to plan their attack to mitigate the training of the students.

It boils down to the quality of parenting and what's happening in classrooms. This is being produced. We are making these people. It begins from birth...discipline, respect, accountability, responsibility, humility, moral grounding, etc. It's no coincidence that as we've shifted away from religious grounding that these things have exploded. You don't have to be a zealot. But, that grounding is fundamental in instilling a larger sense of morality and personal responsibility.

It really comes down to priorities and the truth is that we don't see children as the most valuable commodity which they are. Everyone keep focusing on the wrong things like ''well it's mental health.'' or ''We should arm teachers.'' But no one is saying ''How come these massacres don't happen in airports, dmv's, hospitals, banks? Lets adopt what they are doing and apply it to schools." The real question to ask is how come people are able to easily gain access into these schools when other institutions mainly government facilities, they wouldn't make it past the front door. I disagree with Shawn about the security guard comment because there are plenty of buildings with armed security making 13 bucks an hour where you can't just casually scroll into with no pushback. It starts with securing schools like banks and government facilities are secured because if all else fails on the outside, at least the shooter will have a very hard time getting in therefore giving more time for law enforcement to arrive instead of them arriving after 20 kids have been slaughtered. It's not rocket science. We protect what we think it important and children isn't in the top 5 on that list.

I could be completely wrong but, I believe that the enormous size of schools and class sizes has been a contributing factor. When you have class (grade level) sizes over 1000 students children are lost in the shuffle.
There would be better educational outcomes and more personal involvement if the class sizes were under 200. It might be a bit more expensive but what price can you put on the future?

100% correct. We've had guns forever. So, what's changed? Not the guns...it's how society has changed through time to where the behavior with guns has got to this. Politicians can't trouble themselves with finding real solutions...they can barely figure out their own dress code. So, they try to throw solutions at a problem that are easy.

The guns have definitely changed. A 1920s WWI combat rifle could fire far fewer rounds per minute than a 2020s AR-15 type weapon. An 1820s US Army service musket could manage 2-3 rounds per minute. Pretty hard to shoot up a school with a musket when your reload takes 20-30 seconds. Don't tell me guns haven't changed.

Most of these school shootings can be prevented through education and awareness. This responsibility rests on us as parents, student's, peers etc. Recognizing what to report, and acting on that right away. Making sure none of those reports slip through the cracks. Mental illness/unresolved conflicts in school is behind most of this and of course having the (protector in the school) when things go bad that you can not stop.

I appreciate Kyle Morgan and his service. There is no question that he is a hero and that he has done things to protect our liberties. I'm grateful for men like him.
But also... that doesn't mean that he has a solution to such a complex problem.
Saying that the solution to school shooting is a matter of societal change is tantamount to saying there is no solution. Societies change at glacial speed when left on their own. This solution is a buttoned up version of thoughts and prayers. There are ZERO actionable items in this video.
What this video does do well is reinforce the kind of rhetoric that certain types of people want to hear and believe... "You can't be a sheep," "You and only you are responsible for protecting your family from any harm that can come to them - even if you have to work and earn a living, you still should be protecting them and if any harm befalls them, it was your fault," "we aren't the country we used to be... when we were a country of values, these things never would have happened..." Great... But that doesn't SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

All operators having radio communications with one another and fit with lethal and non-lethal.
