Honestly, I pity her. The documentary made it feel like she really tries but unfortunately has no results in her attempts. She is a good performer but we never really sow a great vocal moment from her.
Honestly, she just doesn't have the vocal cords for singing. It's nasally, straining, and lacks power. She's the type who has to be in a group, in order to cover for her vocal weakness. Even her dancing is pretty mediocre. She's improved. But it's not great. I would say that even Kazuha dances better than her and certainly sings better.

No puns intended, but me just being optimistic, maybe Sakura is a late bloomer in her craft. I'm a late bloomer in life myself. She definitely has understanding in beats and rhythm if she dances so well. Not to mention that most of what she mentioned on the documentary in regards to things that get in the way of her singing sound like mental blocks, such as insecurity and tireless hate comments. Yunjin is the best singer of this group and has always been the most stable, that "easy" encore doesn't change that, nobody knows what happened to her there but that still doesn't neglect the fact that she's the best vocalist of Le Sserafim.

I think 46/48g members, in general, just aren't good at singing. Even Sasshi said that idols don't need to sing or dance well, which I strongly disagree with. I think they should be decent and stable, at the very least.

She never excelled in dancing during her days in 48g. Her singing also sounded awful while utilizing improper vocal technique for a long time. However, she succeeded in the industry due to her charm and hard work. But then again, she's in Korea now so she should improve her vocals. She will continue to get hate as of now because she drags the group's vocals down. I hope that she can still fix her bad habits in singing, and also be more consistent with her dance to become one of the best performers in Korea.

this is it. not you in particular but people in general seem to confuse the term “tone deaf” a lot; pitch accuracy does NOT equal vocal skill and talent. a technically gifted singer could do an amazing run and miss half the notes pitch wise, while another singer could have the most bland/unappealing voice while hit every pitch correctly (most idols). what i’m trying to say is that sakura is on par with pitch accuracy with other kpop idols (as she should be, i’d be worried if she wasn’t this far into her career) BUT as you said she lacks natural talent for singing. her singing and speaking voices are both shaky and that’d be very hard to correct at this point in time

I think 46/48g members, in general, just aren't good at singing. Even Sasshi said that idols don't need to sing or dance well, which I strongly disagree with. I think they should be decent and stable, at the very least.

Sakura is a solid proof of that statement. She never excelled in dancing during her days in 48g. Her singing also sounded awful while utilizing improper vocal technique for a long time. However, she succeeded in the industry due to her charm and hard work.
But then again, she's in Korea now so she should improve her vocals. She will continue to get hate as of now because she drags the group's vocals down. I hope that she can still fix her bad habits in singing, and also be more consistent with her dance to become one of the best performers in Korea.

And yeah, I agree. Now that she's in Korea, she should really put in the effort in improving her vocals as much as she puts in effort in knitting. This isn't Japan anymore. The one thing she gets criticized for, she hasn't improved at all, since debut. And that's really disappointing, especially, when everyone is anticipating _some_ noticeable vocal improvement in every comeback.

this is it. not you in particular but people in general seem to confuse the term “tone deaf” a lot; pitch accuracy does NOT equal vocal skill and talent. a technically gifted singer could do an amazing run and miss half the notes pitch wise, while another singer could have the most bland/unappealing voice while hit every pitch correctly (most idols).
what i’m trying to say is that sakura is on par with pitch accuracy with other kpop idols (as she should be, i’d be worried if she wasn’t this far into her career) BUT as you said she lacks natural talent for singing. her singing and speaking voices are both shaky and that’d be very hard to correct at this point in time
