It was unexpected how profound and high quality this movie was. It touched on so many things. Heavy emotion, and absurd humor. Insight into psychology and loneliness. Shocking cuts of odd things. So many buttons pushed. Absolutely love this movie. A real work of actual art. This song is gorgeous.
I watched this and it was such a wtf who made this i need to know cuz of the idea that whoever is behind this has such a profound understanding of humans
Everyone listening to this have a beautiful time from here. May all your problems get sorted as soon as possible. U deserve better n somewhere it's coming for u. Have faith.
After watching the movie, I fell in love with this song and sang it to my dog all the time. The night before we put her down I held her close and sang again. I miss my baby girl a lot and I still sing it to her. Its been a year today.
I lost my grandmother who I was deeply close to last July, I watched this film a week later and as soon as I heard this song I burst into tears. It defined everything I was thinking and feeling at the time of great loss. Plus the movie was pretty great and the fart jokes made me laugh.
Held off on this film for at least a year. watched it last night and almost 24 hours later am crying while listening to this song. As I said to my partner, Michel, it touched my cynical and world-weary 61 year old heart in a way I can’t even explain. And I agree with many of the comments here that this film should be much more popular and appreciated.
Every time I hear this song, my eyes are filled with tears. Because I can't find the right words to tell how beautiful it is, and tears are the only way I can really express how I feel about it.
Daniel Kim LOL ( read this a sec ago and made me shit laughing when I opened my phone. ) And yes, I also meant realistic metaphysically, as in, how the portrayal of our deepest human thoughts unfold as we grow, learn and question our reality.
So some odd reason the tone of this song makes everyone feel... almost nostalgia. And sadness, hope, and personally for me clarity. This song has the ability to be what you needed to hear when you had no idea you needed to.
I've been singing for years And have always loved heartfelt songs. But this song has the ability to make me cry when I sing it. It really touches a nerve and it's the 1st song in a long time that has moved me in that way..
I watched this film a day after watching Everything Everywhere All At Once. When it ended I just had no idea what I was supposed to take from it. Looking back on it I think I felt something watching this I will never feel again.
Manny farted his way out to sea in search of the next soul who might need him and his magic body. Couldn't end any other way since you can't really live in a society where one drags a corpse around on his back. Love this song and also cried at the end.
I saw this movie roughly four years ago and really enjoyed it but what stuck with me was the soundtrack. I find myself singing this song periodically and at random times. I finally looked it up to listen to it and realized Andy Hull sang it. I’m a huge fan of Manchester Orchestra and discovering he sings this random song I sing is the greatest coincidence.
This movie was honestly a weird movie, but it was also sad because most of the things the character was going through was relatable, like feeling lonely and going out to find something but ending up stranded even more with yourself. This song made me cry at the end.
When the mainstream Hollywood stops pandering to identity politics and terribly written remake cash-grabs. So, never. But don't let that stop you from enjoying this wonderful film!
@@Gurkmassa Oh totally a little weird, but they're just part of the human body's function. It's not in an obscene way in this movie, just more human and kind of comedic relief in an otherwise doomed scenario.
I love the implications of the fact that this is the only track in the movie "the last track" that features acoustic guitar. Hank finally learned to play the guitar.
my friend got me introduced to this song. he is a great friend. he had me listen to this song. this sad song. and I said the vibe of this song describes my life. pure utter sadness.
Soy ese comentario en español que buscabas expresando lo maravillosa que es esta pieza y lo mucho que logra transmitir. Simplemente la amé tanto como la película. 🖤
@@mihirmahale8260 No no, they composed the songs, yes, but Andy Hull and Robert McDowell perform A Better Way, it even blatantly states so in the credits anywhere you look. And Daniel and Andy don't have such similar voices that I wouldn't bet on my life that Andy Hull sings this. He even talks about how singing this song and writing the others affected the style of his music. It's clearly Andy's voice, nothing compares to it
when i listen to this song, i feel as if im falling down a bottom less pit while watching everything i love slowly slip out of my hands and slowly getting further and further away from my grasp.

Gaz Hughes I don't think they were the same people because they all saw Manny at the end as a body and then as he motorboated out to sea. They were definately diffrent people and Manny had powers. I was really hopeing that he was crazy and snapped under the pressure of being lost. After finding Manny he could have convinced himself that Manny had powers and he just dragged the body around till he found people... but hey what do I know lol
In a literal sense they were different as in visually but the film is rich with symbolism and Manny seemed to be a manifestation of Hank's mental illness. That was my view anyway but then I'm just an audience member like your good self.
nightterror007 This is exactly what I wanted the ending to be! It is still possible this is the case, and Hank also imagined Manny motorboating away, but it is really unfortunate we also see the other people surrounding Hank reacting to this, witch makes it feel like this is not the case.
You don't have to take everything you see in films at face value you know. Sometimes the director is asking you to think more about metaphor and symbolism. The reactions to the farting corpse are how people treat mental illness in society.
the most weird, mindblowing, gripping and beautiful movie ive ever seen

Well, I wouldn't specifically call it 'realistic', but I get what you mean ;)

What a weird but utterly fantastic movie. The soundtrack is just great thanks for uploading.
yeah, really a good movie. People that didn't get the movie just remember it as the farting corpse movie.

reminds me of bed time songs from my childhood
probably the most underrated, underappreciated movie in recent years.
