Hmmm I have merc in gemini in 8th. Everything was pretty correct. However, when you got to the part about catching people in lies cause you “feel” someone is lying, I don’t necessarily “feel” it’s more of I catch them in details but it’s like a puzzle that I can see and their lie is a piece that doesn’t fit. Usually, I can tell something is off with someone usually by a facial expression, a gesture, inconsistent speech patterns etc. For instance I would notice their speech pattern is inconsistent than how they normally communicate... OR a normal person would do xyz in this instance but they didn’t... OR this person is over explaining on something that’s pretty straightforward so therefore I’m gonna make a mental note that they are moving kinda weird which usually pans out later on. So for me since my merc is still in an air sign there is more analyzing than feeling involved.
I have mercury in cancer in the 8th and Mars in Gemini so everything you said is exactly what I do. I feel like a part of my mind is taking notes and filing away all of the detailed behaviors of a person and storing it for later use.

Very good , I love this, and a description of Mercury in Scorpio or any other placement is always best coming from a person who has it in their chart. I have Mercury in Scorpio in my chart and I never took much notice of the placement, I always figured that me being over cautious and guarded was more to do with myself being a Capricorn moon because of that placement protecting its own emotions due to its detriment in moon. It was interesting the mention of thoughts going through a loop, I can literally drive myself insane with my thought loops, overthinking and almost becoming obsessed with something.
