I love the alien movies, including Alien 3 which I adore for many different reasons. Loved Romulus but I did have minor issues with its story in the 2nd/3rd act, but overall just loved being immersed again into what felt like an authentic Alien movie. I'm looking forward to the TV show, I'm very intrigued. It looks likes a face hugger just jumping in and out of the frame, with possibly a xeno following behind. Hard to tell because like you said it's very fast, but I think it's definitely a facehugger within the frame. My one concern/worry is actually in the title, that being the shows setting, Earth. I've never wanted these stories to actually be set on earth because in many ways it undermines the story of Ripley in many ways. It was always about making sure the Alien does not get to earth, with Resurrection being the closest, so for me I'm a little uncertain about it.
@AshleyThomas88 that's very well said mate. The closer the danger is to Earth, the lesser the quality of what is being seen on screen. That is a very interesting correlation within the franchise. I always dreamed of making an Alien 5 with the Ripley clone as the central protagonist again and it being set on Earth initially with her being called back to action as a remnant of the Xenomorph DNA is found in a nearby interplanetary outpost and she must investigate it due to her prior experience and there being discrimantion against the cloning process and artifical life on Earth. It's always a gamble when legacy film series return with an abundance of nostalgia with a returning principle character but I really do think it could work with an appropriate director.
@@smaug_237 That's a great idea with very relatable themes, and your absolutely right, with the right director it can work. Nostalgia is great if it serves the story, if its weaved into the story in a way that's natural/organic.
