it’s such a good book I genuinely think people overthink it a bit? like it’s a good ass storyline booktube can make something more complicated than it actually is
I have to wholeheartedly agree with you. Sarah looooves to drag the plot to exhaustion to be honest. These books would have been so much better if there wasn’t so much meandering and Feyre’s repetitive inner dialogue
Love that you did this vlog because I just finished this about a month ago and I’m currently on book 4. I can agree the pacing is sloooow at times, but I truly loved the introduction of all the new characters. And the steam is totally a-ok because Rhysand is a respectful king 😂👏🏼 Although the plot for book two seems quite nuanced to start, I think Maas really does a good job twisting the story a bit and keeping you on your toes. All in all, I agree with yours thoughts/rating. Great video!
Got all the way to your spoiler alert. Hahahaha yeah "full-on steamy scenes" is what I keep hearing about Sarah J. Maas. Strangely enough I've seen her in a few interviews and she carries herself like a queen, but a stealthily spicy queen. She's like Brandon Sanderson, except her jokes have better timing because she's chill about it. So it's not as if I'm expecting A Court of Fifty Shades, but YA is definitely not the vibe I get from her.
If you do continue to read the series or most SJM books just know it continues to feel 100 pages too long almost every time. But still the same level of entertaining or pay off by the end
I've currently just started reading the series, took me less than a week to finish acotar (let me mention that I've taken over a 4 year period of not regularly reading books?) so this was a very WOW thing to suddenly start reading with again lmao but I'm still on chapter 8 so I had to pause 10 minutes into your video sadly 😭 but I will 100% comeback to see what else you have to say 👏🏻
so yes! I'm finally back with an update (INCLUDING SPOILERS!!!), I've finished the book last week and suddenly remembered this video! and yesss the bad bi moments of feyre make me so happy and excited, the chapter with her saving him was just yesssss get it bestie ur doing great~ and other than that chapter 54 just got me mentally combusting, in all honesty I wouldn't say I saw that coming ? but I WAS spoiled that she would end up with him so I did see that part coming but not the mating aspect of it all, but anyways the last chapters and what happened had my blood boilingggggg I was just not for it, so I just closed the book after finishing up that last chapter and am taking a tiny little break before starting the third to UNDERSTAND WHYYYY must this happen :') but yes! loved ur review thank u for taking the time for it
@@HaileyDanielle It is SJM so expect the long world building and then all the action pact in the end. However overall as a series the character development and plot 😘👌🏻
I think it is so great how you review books I would never consider finding in a bookshop. “Court of Mist and Fury” looks like it falls within Young Adult fiction, so yeah, i think I know where to look next time 😆 haha a-hole, no female empowerment - Might have to replay your vlog when I feel that way about that character 😅
@@AJ-hc2jj, I’m currently on the fourth book, and automatically from the first book I hated everything about it including the main characters to side characters. I cannot stand Feyre, her sisters but Nesta I find sooooo insufferable. All of these characters are so flat that they don’t stand on their own. I guess Lucien is the better character than Rhys I guess.
i mean the tamlin red flags were 100% present in the first book once u go back and reread it just wasn’t as obvious because that was the point i think
Definitely true! Just much more pronounced and in your face in acomaf!
Good point I need to reread that one!! I was like damn they switched up so fast

Chapter 54 > chapter 55
Frfr

YES!!! SO excited for this! 😄😃 You inspired me to start the series from the ACOTAR reading vlog and now I’m hooked 💯

Always love your VLOGS 👍🏽👍🏽 I'll just count your SJM vlogs as having read her books 😜
Thank you!! And that’s me with crescent city vlogs, you couldn’t pay me to read those sorry😭
Night court not winter court
I really want you to read the Throne of Glass series. Personally I liked the plot more and the strong female characters.
I’ve heard so many mixed things Im scared haha

i wanna watch this soooo bad but i just checked it out to read myself so im gonna wait until i read it so no spoilers
Hope you like it!!👀

I feel like it’s definitely a good candidate for “new adult.” Not quite as cringy as some YA, and definite adult themes lol
@@HaileyDanielle thanks for introducing me to a New Genre (New Adult) ! - goggled it and apparently this began in 2009 so kinda after I left school 😆
This was my favorite book in the series. Unfortunately, it only gets worse from here in my opinion.
Stopped reading this one, the characters all annoyed me too bad
Same. I gave up on it lol

@mikachuthunderboltz1298 It drove me up a wall lol. I had to go searching to make sure I wasn't the only one that hated the main characters.
