    This is awesome. So much tennis content is just the same stuff over and over again and aimed at total beginners. These are exactly the sort of nuggets I love to find that really help.

      @@seanplaystenis I have one I love. I'm always trying to improve consistency with ball striking. Like what do you think about and do that your improved your consistency?

    • @seanplaystenis

      @@megowopwop8545 I always think about body work for consistency and looseness of the hand
      Consistent body work means you’ll be able to get in the same position for the ball every time, then the loose hand means you’ll be able to brush up the back of the ball quickly creating a lot of spin (control) bringing the ball in the court more. I have a video about it coming out today 👍

    Very useful and original lesson, as a musician this rhythmic lesson will help me in my tennis re-learning journey, after studying music only for so many years I can see the connection and why I love tennis strings so much, almost like my guitar strings!

      Rhythm is a huge part of the game, I can also see the skills from music transferring well into tennis, they both take long hours of dedication and practice…but when perfected can be magic

    Nice video Sean, you’ll get more positive feedback than negative on here so keep it up…the negative comments are inevitable regardless what you post but it’s normally from people that don’t have the balls to put themselves out there with a face for everyone to see. Not many UA-camrs play at your level either so you’ve got a lot of good stuff to pass down👍

    This is one way to think about I think the vid is good. But I can see why some people think it is boring since they are probably not at high level. But I do agree the vid and dive into each point a bit deeper so it would be more interesting to see why some rhythm work some don’t and how to pick your rhythm etc. the vid already present result and conclusion based on years of experience but most viewers might not have those. If there are some games to help achieve the result that you present here would make it easier to follow if I were a beginner

    This was a very thoughtful set of ideas. I can see how these can directly improve my game, especially the ability to reproduce a stroke consistently. Very interesting. I like the matter of fact delivery and simple demonstrations. Good luck with your channel.

    Having footwork for volleys and the return of serves is brilliant. Never considered it. Return of serve is basically a volley but with a shortened groundstroke swing. Thanks for the advice!

    • @seanplaystenis
      @seanplaystenis  15 днів тому +1

      I didn’t realise it until about 3 years ago when a coach showed me it. Revolutionised my return, I was able to take the ball a lot earlier on return also.

    Awesome tip man, really solid tips! But I have a question, do you like work on each strokes biomechanics first and then work rhythm or do you work on technique just based on these tips?

    • @seanplaystenis
      @seanplaystenis  9 днів тому

      Thank you! I’d say I do both, but try and get the shape of the shot first then slowly add rhythm and relaxation. They’re both really important as without the rhythm and relaxation it’s hard to get power in the shot

  • @kicksometennis
    @kicksometennis 15 днів тому

    Cool and well presented. Smooth, also. Btw, just as a benevolent reminder, on the BH the back leg should follow and step forward after the shot - it is the 1-2-3 motion

    • @seanplaystenis
      @seanplaystenis  15 днів тому

      Definitely, hand goes first then the body lags behind creating that bit of tension to give that power

      Just turn up the dial slightly with the speed of the hand, get the body involved a little bit more. To create more pace it should be small adjustments
